First-ever collisions of oxygen at the Large Hadron Collider

Well, get ready for some Mandela effects over the next couple of days, right? Or so the conspiracy theorists would speculate…

From 29 June to 9 July, the LHC will switch to special operations: two days of proton–oxygen ion collisions, followed by—additional firsts—two days of oxygen–oxygen collisions and one day of neon–neon collisions, with several days of machine set-up and commissioning in between.

This campaign will cover a wide range of research, from the study of cosmic rays to the strong force and quark–gluon plasma, and the LHC experiments are already looking forward to a great harvest of new data.

    The SINBAD effect

This news today: Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a first look at Will Smith in costume as the Genie in Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” movie, and not everyone is thrilled with it. Why would they be!? We live in the Twitterverse of judgement world….

Smith stars in director Guy Ritchie’s update of the animated classic, alongside Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. People have lampooned the imagery in EW since the release..

TWITTER has issued its typical backlash.. no surprise there at all….

Except one thing.. one little thing that caught my eye on a Facebook page I follow. The comment was made by so many Twitter commentators today: “Sinbad never looked better.”

Now… that Sinbad comment sure is strange, considering that interesting “Mandela Effect” that I have written about previously here.

A few years ago, we talked extensively about the Sinbad movie that never existed.. I wrote then:

This is the latest ‘glitch in the matrix’ that even got me.
I recall this myself. I remember him in the outfit. I don’t quite remember the name of the film as some others do, but I am very clear on my memory of him being in an awful un-funny movie when I was younger.

All of this is fodder for crowds of people who have a new-found appreciation of the Mandela Effect. Every day.

For those yet unaware, or those who do not quite know the label to call their strange memory lapses or sudden shocks to learn that reality is different from what they thought, it is called the Mandela Effect. There are people–and lots of them including Stafire Tor on an old Art Bell show that somewhat started all of this–that believed Nelson Mandela died in prison in the 1980s. They recall his funeral. They remember the news headlines and nightly news reporting. And they were shocked that he rose to the presidency of South Africa in the 90s. Because, to them, he was long dead.

Thanks to the new Will Smith movie, this glitch is back in full force, making a joke that Smith looks just like Sinbad looked in the Shazaam movie…

As a matter of fact, people are actually sharing a FAKE photo of Sinbad as “SHAZAAM” in their mockery of the Will Smith movie, not even realizing that SHAZAAM never even existed!!

  • New Mandela Effect adventures in Hi Fi

New Mandela Effect adventures in Hi Fi

It’s been a while since a good Mandela Effect has reared its reality-shifting head.

Let’s travel back in time to 1996. I recall my friend Jared introducing me during freshman year to a new CD (I moved on from cassette tapes around 8th grade) called NEW ADVENTURES IN HI FI .. REM was the ground who pleasured fans with this album.

The songs were mellow.. there was a certain feeling to the music that REM was becoming deeper and more enigmatic ..

Fast forward a bit in decades and potentially in realities: I read this account on a music site by someone who recently purchased the CD and realized that there may have been some words forgotten…

This is how the actual cover SHOULD look:

Most of the commentary on the message board in response don’t mention any Mandela related shift.

The post seems to attempt to explain what may have occurred:

So … why am I presenting this?

When I was a kid, I have distinct and complete memories of this CD. I recall at the time I wondered “why didn’t they finish their sentence” on the cover.. My CD, I remember, also did not include the words “HI FI” …

And now… The desperate search to locate the old copy of this CD begins. It’s a possession that is mostly buried somewhere in the deepest darkest trenches of my closet of CDs, DVDs, and taped David Letterman VHS cassettes and home movies.

And if I find it? And if the “HI FI” is suddenly on the CD cover, my mind will be shocked further into Mandela Mania..

  • Twilight Zone: A Matter of Minutes. Could something like this explain the Mandela Effect?

Twilight Zone: A Matter of Minutes. Could something like this explain the Mandela Effect?

Just the other day, a friend of mine was adamant: Tinkerbell DEFINITELY did dot the I in the Disney Logo ..

    She did not.
    Never happened. Ever.

And thus began that person’s foray into the Mandela Effect world — something we have been taking time to discuss over the past few years or so since the whole thing was unveiled on Art Bell in the late 90s and the again by Starfire Tor on Coast to Coast AM during the mid-2000s…

This TWILIGHT ZONE entitled A MATTER OF MINUTES from 1985 is somewhat on that subject..

Just think! Every minute is built.. every period of time is constructed. Some get lost.. And some times things get lost.
But nothing major. Just the E in Berenstain and the turkey leg in King Henry’s painting….

Houston? We have a problem.. a genie is out of the Sinbad bottle.. and it’s nothing that Tinkerbell can dot an I away with…
