“Mystery virus” hitting Cuba very hard

High fevers, red spots, peeling skin, swollen joints, vomiting and diarrhea are among symptoms crippling the island’s population – but Cubans have no idea what they are suffering from.

This week the Canadian government announced health screenings and quarantine of up to seven days for those coming back from the country.

And in December, Spain told its citizens to stay away from Cuba due to a “serious epidemic”.

Known just as “the virus” to many, reports suggest one third of the Cuba’s population has been infected – and the British Medical Journal described the “surge” as the country’s most serious crisis in recent decades.

In areas like Camagüey and Holguín, cemeteries have reportedly been overwhelmed.

Three months after the disease spread across the island, the Cuban government recognised the crisis as an epidemic.

But the regime still refused to declare a national health emergency.

The disease has been called a type of “combined arbovirus” – where people are infected with multiple viruses at the same time and it becomes difficult to diagnosis.

Can we please stop eating bats?

Clearly it isn’t working out for us anymore.

An unknown illness first discovered in three children who ate a bat has rapidly killed more than 50 people in northwestern Congo over the past five weeks, health experts say.

The interval between the onset of symptoms – which include fever, vomiting and internal bleeding – and death has been 48 hours in most cases and “that’s what’s really worrying,” said Serge Ngalebato, medical director of Bikoro Hospital, a regional monitoring center.

These “hemorrhagic fever” symptoms are commonly linked to known deadly viruses, such as Ebola, dengue, Marburg and yellow fever, but researchers have ruled these out based on tests of more than a dozen samples collected so far.

  • China VirusES? Can we believe these social media reports? Before you panic let’s be sensible

China VirusES? Can we believe these social media reports? Before you panic let’s be sensible

PTSD hits the planet when news of China viruses breaking out occurs–especially when reports indicate high death rates, infections of younger people, and crematoriums being overwhelmed..

This is what is being reported now across social media: China is facing a surge in multiple viruses, including Influenza A, HMPV, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and COVID-19, overwhelming hospitals and crematoriums. Children’s hospitals are particularly strained by rising pneumonia and “white lung” cases.

This quote comes to us from sources quoting someone named Ms. Wang:

Ms. Wang, a funeral director in Zhejiang, described long cremation lines, with VIP furnaces in use, emitting heavy smoke. She likened the scene to a bustling New Year market. As a result, the government has declared a state of emergency in response to the escalating epidemic.

And a Youtube video from ‘Decoding China’ is another source..

BUT IS ANY OF THIS TRUE!?

Caution before believing headlines.. delve deep. There is no official mention of China declaring any emergencies.. additionally there is nothing from official health sources like the World Health Organization.

And while we are sure Ms. Wang exists.. who is she and where is she? Credible sources are necessary before we devolve into panic.

There were official reports in November of a surge of pneumonia in China along with other respiratory diseases. So it is very likely some hospitals are now being overwhelmed. Is it a COVID-like situation?

It should be noted that some sleuths have discovered some truths: That videos and clips being shown may be from years ago.

There are no statements or reliable reports to support these claims. A Community Note on X read: “There is no information to back up the claim that China has declared a state of emergency over epidemics overwhelming the hospitals and crematoriums in the country.”..

This is not to say we aren’t in store for wild pandemics in 2025–who knows. But right now, at this moment, despite rumors there appears to be no credible sources AT THIS TIME that any of these events in China are occurring. That could change quickly–the Communist government may be keeping a tighter lid on things. Perhaps these rumors will be true.. and maybe Ms. Wang is right. Until confirmation.. keep your head up high and that mask in the back pocket..
