Art Bell existed at night for decades–and his loyal squadron  of fans now does, too..
The BELLGAB message board was set on proverbial fire last night when a user, named “Surmo,” issued a statement on the website concerning Art Bell’s legal approach to fighting his non compete with Sirius XM. Surmo wrote, in full:

On behalf of Art Bell, I am issuing a statement to the participants of BellGab, the fans of Art Bell, and even Art’s enemies. 

A number of days ago Art and I made contact in regard to his legal issues involving Sirius XM, and now Premiere Radio and Coast to Coast. Art’s desire is to return to the air as soon as possible, and he wanted me to investigate his legal options. Art instructed me to look into each and every option, and by that he meant every option, after which he will decide which avenue to select to return to the airways. Every option is on the table, but the preference is for a quick return in a format that Art prefers. 

Art Bell is not a businessman, and he made a mistake trusting those who perhaps should not have been trusted. He is now assembling a team in order to correct that mistake, and will make his decision fairly swiftly. It is gratifying to note the legal hurdles do not look nearly as significant as initially feared, and I will present Art with a number of legal options in the very near future. If that is what is required to get a show on the air, Art will proceed with one of those legal options, though the final decision remains with Art Bell. 

Those of you who have ideas on how to proceed with the ground troops, i.e. BellGab itself, should feel free to send me a personal message with your ideas. Videos, posting at certain sensitive websites, and other such actions, are all encouraged if done in a legal manner. On a more personal note, in doing due diligence I have been allowed to review much of the existing “back room” documentation, and it is everything Art has stated and more. The failures of the Sirius system have been consistent and widespread, with documentation to support this, and which Art approached Sirius with from Day One. Records of this exist. I have instructed Art not to get into too much detail on this until such time as a final legal team and plan of action have been selected. Suffice to say, the other side frequents this website regularly, and it is wise not to show our hand until we decide to play it. 

In conclusion, all legal or other options are now being evaluated. Art will make a decision in the near future on how to proceed.

Immediately, there were joyful reactions–and also some users who doubted the authenticity of the message. The HORROR REPORT has done its due diligence in contacting the user on BELLGAB but at this time have not been given a response. Presumably, everyone needs to sleep at some point… So stay tuned, we will share whatever information we can in addition to the statement that was posted last night.

There were other posts, such as this and other other cryptic messages from a board user Coaster.. the user was alluding to actions he was privately doing all night, calls to Sirius XM, and work on Facebook and Twitter. A message that he wrote directly to Coast host George Noory was equally bizarre:

I cant say what I was trying to sdo, because, I get it. Noory reads this shit 24-7. wanna play chess? What would happen if a nobody whooped your ass today..

Things are getting ‘schtrange.’

Meanwhile on Twitter, the hashtag FREEARTBELL is being tweeted in big numbers. The Sirius XM Facebook page is being overwhelmed by comments and users writing messages asking Sirius to unbind Bell from his non-compete clause.. Even Art Bell was grateful and surprised by the outpouring emotion..

There are images being made to support the phrase. And undoubtedly, videos are sure to follow..

Yes, it is not a fight I want, but it is one I WILL have.

I have asked to be released from the NC and got a no first time around, now I have asked again and taken steps with Legal help. We shall see what develops. As for thinking George is a nice guy, those days are long gone. 

He should feel the sharp knife of hypocrisy stab him every night when he “thanks me”, I told him what a piece of crap he was after he put Oates on in language that would make most Sirius/XM Hosts blush, still he does it either because he has been told to do it or he really woves me, I prefer the former.

First of all my sincere congrats to Premiere Radio, they made the right move. Business is War
and I would have done the same exact thing, and did in my day.
Second, given the same circumstances I would make the same decision again today about Dark
Matter. There is much you do not know and I will not talk about because it was given in confidence
and I am kind of old school so I will not talk about those things even though it would help you to
understand my decision.
Third, I would love it if Sirius/XM would waive my NC but they said no and even though I could run
out and get a Lawyer and perhaps win back my freedom I will most likely not do that. If I were ten
Years younger it might be a different story, I will say this, It seems crazy as hell to me that we offered
exactly what Premiere ended up taking. Now Sirius/XM has a show that will be mostly commercials and
seems much less a good fit than Dark Matter with a Host who thinks a Typhoon in Vietnam causes rain
in Hawaii. (Last night’s show, first hour)
Fourth and finally I would like to say sorry to the people who did come over either by Radio or the less
than stellar streaming, trust me I understand your anger, I only wish you had enough information to
understand my decision.

It would certainly appear with this post, and the same post on Facebook, that the long career of Art Bell may in fact be over..

He’s not ten years younger..

And he appears resigned to his non compete clause…

Noory said Bell was ‘winding down.’ Little did anyone know that Noory was helping pull a string to unwind the career of the man who gave him his show so long ago..

For those who did not listen last night, it was an amazing and important Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis, titled “Camp for the useless Eaters” .. I really recommend you give it a listen..

I was moved to true emotion and sadness this morning looking at some images from the Philippines. I saw a photo, which I will not share due to the graphic nature, of a father holding his toddler in his arms.. he was weeping. She was dead.. he was taking her to the morgue. She was the victim of this tremendous disaster that will be the storm for the record books.. I cannot fathom the thoughts of what happened here.. I also cannot explain how angry I am at American media for their selfish attitude regarding news. They cover politics as though it matters.. they feed us trivial garbage, a steady diet of nonsense that spews from their talking head mouths. I dislike them not for who they are, but for who they pretend they are.. We don’t get news. Thank God for the Internet. I am going to post some links at the bottom of this update that, if you want help, you can click on and send whatever..

The situation in the Philippines has been officially designated a ‘calamity’ by the government there..

Bodies in the Philippines are being piled high in the streets.. I have a big fear that 10,000 dead is an understatement.. I really fear this..

Once again: I was amazed this morning: Tens of thousands potentially dead in the Philippines, China lost a lot of farms from the same storm, another storm kills hundreds in Somalia.. and the top story on the big three network morning news shows? The ‘cold’ in the United States and the coating of snow that some people got–a coating! It’s November. It gets cold. And it snows. Sometimes there’s cold November rain, so say the Guns N Roses. Sometimes snow. Either way, there was no coverage of the unfolding disaster in other nations. But other nations know what goes on in America–we just don’t know what goes on there.. Sickening, news media..sickening.

On October 31, George Noory, using the popular message board BELLGAB.COM, changed his avatar to a crown.. 
People thought he was proclaiming himself the king of paranormal radio. Instead, it may have been a hidden message that, only last night, was revealed to the world..

When Art Bell quit DARK MATTER on Sirius XM 104, he said it was because of the timeouts and other user related problems. A week ago, he even proposed a solution: Stream through Artbell.com, become an independent broadcaster, take no salary from Sirius, but still be exclusive to them.. Though he, his producer Paul Bowman, and webmaster Keith Rowland, all said that Sirius was considering the deal, the suits in D.C. never responded to the request.

Last night, the first night that Art Bell’s DARK MATTER had officially ended, Sirius XM replaced his program with Coast to Coast AM with George Noory.

As expected, message boards across the internet woke up with anger and confusion. Was this the hidden back story that Art Bell alluded to? For days now, he wrote cryptic statements on BELLGAB, wondering aloud if ‘big money’ had something to do with ‘something’ going on behind the scenes.

The ink on his deal with Sirius had never even dried before, apparently, some form of negotiation started to occur with Premiere Radio..

George Noory himself even took to BELLGAB last night to defend himself–some of the messages he was publicly receiving consisted of unabashed rage and anger. Noory said, in full:

Here you go folks. This is WHAT happened. As many of you know, we were on XM for years . The end of OCT that channel went away. We knew this was coming for months prior. WE began negotiations to get Sirius/XM to BUY the rights to air my show. When Art went on Sirius those negotiations continued. We didn’t know what channel we’d be on, but I wanted to flow after Art’s Dark Matter .It would have been a strong channel. He up and RESIGNED. We then got the offer we were waiting for and had two options for channels 104 and a truckers channel. We selected 104. We are NOT in Art’s original 7pm-10pm PT slot. we start at 10PM PT. He RESIGNED. We never expected that…and frankly he made a mistake , I believe. Don’t blame us for getting BACK on a satellite network we were ON in the past.

What is interesting about Noory’s statement is the time problem. Art Bell’s original show was going to air from 7pm PDT to 10pm PDT, but he expanded it to four hours .. Additionally, the HORROR REPORT spoke to Art Bell in August, before his show began to air on Sirius, and he explained that he has the entire night and could, if he wanted to, expand the show to a full eight hours. The HORROR REPORT asked him, if there was a breaking news event, could he extend the program if he desired to cover it..

The fact that Sirius was negotiating with Noory, planning on taking away his hours of repeat (or potential live shows) and replace it with Coast to Coast AM, is beyond interesting. It may be paranormal radio treason!

It could explain some of the back story as to why Bell suddenly vanished from extraterrestrial radio.

In the 1990s, there were rumors and tales that Jay Leno would hide in closets to hear executive meetings on the TONIGHT SHOW and David Letterman’s fate.  In the 2000teens we have a whole new late night war, this one on radio…

Art Bell was taken off INDIE 104. All of his shows for download have been deleted… with it all being over, I decided to end my Sirius XM Service.

If only it was just that easy..

First off.. I promised myself years ago to never sign up for satellite radio–then Art decided to host and I broke my terrestrial radio self-commandment.

After spending over a half hour on the phone, fighting about hidden fees and little early cancellation costs, I will command myself again: NEVER SIGN UP FOR PAY RADIO. I get that companies want to make money.. and I understand I am canceling before my ‘one year of service.’ And now they know that they have one of the worst companies ever–at least in terms of canceling service–that I have ever dealt with…

Here is the kicker that put me over the edge.. I was asked for an explanation on why I was quitting. I explained the obvious, very calm… The nice woman from somewhere on this planet asked if she wanted me to find shows similar to Dark Matter if it would help keep my service. I said sure, be my guest.

Six minutes later she came back and asked if I listen to music–obviously her search ended up in a Black Hole.   She put me on hold again.. when she came back, she said she wanted me to understand that me quitting is not her company’s fault, but that is was “Clyde Lewis’ own decision to end Ground Zero.”
I was floored.

First off, I explained, Clyde Lewis didn’t host DARK MATTER, and I further explained that there was a separate issue which forced Ground Zero off of satellite radio .. She was legitimately confused as to what I was saying.  I mean, if you’re going to spout Jess-written talking points, at least don’t get them confused with each other.
This also tells me some folks have been ending their service since Clyde Lewis is gone, too…

At a certain point, after my early fees and fees and fees and hidden fees and pretend costs, I ended up with $111.11 back–ironic since it was 11/11 that Art’s shows had all been taken off of Sirius. BUT THEN she told me an extra $12 had to come off for some other reason…. I didn’t even fight at this point. I just wanted my money back.. and they have it, and I want it.

And finally.. the final bombed dropped when I ended the call. She said, “thank you, and you should see your money in 10 to 15 business days.”
WHAT!?
