    Art Bell updated his Facebook page tonight to express that his message today was not an April Fools Joke and the ‘clock is ticking’ on his return..
    He wrote, 

    For the record, NO this is not a April fools joke. It will happen either as soon as my non compete is lifted or the moment it is expired. The clock is ticking….

    The Art Bell fanbase world is buzzing today after he posted a message on Facebook that in its entirety reads like this:

    The Bell Family is well indeed! My new show will air from 9PM-1AM PT. If Sirius would free me from my non-compete it would have been 7-10 PT but while I understand both CC and Sirius did what they had to do, Karma is a Bitch. It will Stream for free and Podcasts will be available.

    Fake?
    April Fools?
    Maybe a 2015 program being planned?

    The timing of the message being posted on April 1st has created a buzz on the popular website BELLGAB--it has created a stir.. Some users are hopeful .. others are worrying that Bell may be pulling some internet legs on A Fools Day..

    Bell was known for his pranks when he hosted Coast to Coast AM.. but with how fans have dedicated money and time to Bell, a joke about returning may hit nerves..

    Since Art Bell left SIRIUS radio with a contentious exit, webmaster Keith Rowland has entered a new phase: Hosting and updating a website for all paranormal talk radio streaming online at Dark Matter Radio Network.. There is no listing on the page for anything related to Bell.. Likewise, ArtBell.com lacks information about this supposed return..

    If it turns out to be a joke, hundreds of people liking and commenting on Bell’s Facebook page may consider unfriending the radio legend.. As some on BELLGAB have pointed out already, a ‘dangerous game’ of emotions may be played if this turns out to be a ruse..

    I pity the April fool

    I loathe April Fools Day. I have always loathed April Fools Day, from the time when children used to scream ‘April Fools!” in shrill voices after completing some type of unfunny prank to today.

    And now today, with the internet, it can be April Fools every day. How many times have you seen someone fall for a fake story on the ONION? Or even fake news from the mainstream media..?
    But the worst of the worst in our modern times are these undoubtedly fake ‘news’ stories that passed around from reader to reader on April fools day.. I saw a few really unfunny stories the moment I woke up this morning. For example, a website I follow that reports actual legitimate information regarding solar flares announced that a killshot had exploded from the sun and we were doomed to die. So tacky, so not funny.. and so possible one day in the future that it is REALLY not humorous at all.. I equate that with the Weather Channel giving fake tornado reports and alarming entire towns that imminent destruction is on the horizon.

    Other definites to expect on April Fools: The fraud stories that your favorite celebrity has died.. the tales that some weird scientific discovery has just be made..

    Perhaps the very most annoying April fools jokes still come from terrestrial radio of the 20th century. Disc jockeys who are aging and still want to be the next ‘Jerky Boy’ come up with some of the most ludicrously unfunny ‘pranks.’

    But with every holiday we ‘celebrate’ there is a root meaning behind it.. no different for April fools. The 1st of April is really a day with an intention that you do thinks to make other people look like fools. True fools.. Jokes on them kind of stuff..

    There are ancient precursors to the modern April fools day found in Roman and Medieval feasts..There are different customs of jokes from around the world..
    Some think that there are religious reasons why April fools pranks started.. and if religious history is involved, no doubt pagan rituals also abound. People do trace April fools back to some pagan traditions..
    And yes.. going full steam ahead down from the pagan path to a point of no return,  some people even equate April fools to Satan himself.

    In the end, we know this:
    Don’t trust any news link you read today.
    Try to maintain your composure when some annoying co worker shouts “APRIL FOOLS!!!” at you..
    Know that it’s only one day, and it’s almost over.
    And this: You will find out a lot about the ‘sense of humor’ of people–especially those who have no ability to tell jokes or be funny at all and still try today.. so often those without any common sense of humor will have an immense belly laugh at their own jokes..

    The good news is that as a tradition April fools pranks are pulled before noon of the day–those done after bring a curse and bad luck to the prankster.. then who’s the fool to be pitied?
