Another strange coincidence keeps Art Bell off the air Monday night

The show was prepped. Guest David Jacobs was about to do his second round on MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT.. At 8:58 PM left coast time, everything stopped working. Just as ‘The Chase’ got ready to play and the thunder before bumper music was set to sound. Something strange continues to plague the growing program for Art Bell.

Even Bell seemed a bit miffed when he went to Facebook last night, posting three consecutive messages and clearly showing frustration with the incident–at least the second time now that a last minute internet outage has led to the show being preempted and replaced with a repeat.

From Bell:

Can you hear me now? The Internet in Phoenix has failed taking this out of my heartbroken hands. Damn I wanted to do this show but a single point of failure failed. Check back here for details.

The first message showcased the hope that the program but, it certainly wasn’t due to the lack of effort.

He went on to write,

Ok, here is the story and it is pretty much what I already told you the main Internet in Phoenix failed, XDS is playing a back up show and Keith is now using back up Internet and feeding another show. We are toast for Tonight, BUT Tomorrow I will Interview Dr Jacobs come hell or high water. PS the Internet failed at 8:58pm! So, we will increase the back up so this never happens again, the current back up in Phoenix is not strong enough to handle all the feeds, that will be corrected right away. I feel sick about this as I was sooo ready to go. If I have failure here, yes we miss a show but if we have failure in Phoenix we can not even do a replay, that can’t ever happen again and won’t.

She is right about the organic part, something is not right about what went down tonight. I can’t talk about it now but just saying…..

Organic indeed.
Strange and reassuring perhaps.
But there seems to be more back story to the front loaded programming problems. The outage at 8:58 seems very interesting. Timing is key. There are no “coninshidenches,” some would say.

In this circumstance, you can conclude: Outage me once, shame on you. Outage me twice, shame on me.

Outage a third time?
A conspiracy.

These are headlines that can be straight from old times of ages gone by.  They are not, however. They are today. Now. Right now.

The UK DAILY MAIL is running a big spread in their latest Britwrappers telling the hidden story of the ‘demons’ in the Congo children.. 50,000 at least who are ‘exorcised’ in a brutal way to ‘beat the devil’ from their human bodies.

Squeezing a toddler’s eyeballs and shoving his thumb into her tiny nose a Catholic priest purges a child of the devil, one of many exorcisms he carries out every day.

Flicked with holy water, her face smeared with olive oil and poked violently in the stomach, two-and-a-half-year old Angel bursts into tears as she is rid of the evil spirits that lurk within her.

The child wriggles to free herself but her mother holds on firmly, insistent that she endures the exorcism to protect her from the sorcery that many in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) believe controls their lives.

Angel and Grace, an 11-month-old baby exorcised the same day, have been ‘saved’ by the ceremony, the devil banished, and for now they remain safe in their homes.

But tens of thousands of other children in this troubled central African country have been branded ‘child’ witches and flung out onto the streets by their families into a life of destitution, violence and abuse.

MailOnline ventured into the frightening world of the occult in this African heartland, famously described as the ‘heart of darkness’, as part of series examining the challenges facing the United Nations trying to help these children. 

In the capital Kinshasa, at the Gallicane Catholic Church, Father Alexis Katziota Mungala talks almost matter of factly of his work releasing thousands of children from the devil.

Exorcism is a daily ritual he performs in his church.

‘These witches they eat human flesh, they drink human blood,’ Father Alexis told MailOnline.

The ‘rest of the story’ is told in more detail, and large photographs of the ‘demon children’ are showcased–children who look quite fine, quite beautiful, and quite normal. Normal except for a culture and parents who believe that demons must be ‘beat’ out of them.

Assaulted: Therese, pictured with other girls from the shelter where she lives, was taken to church where priests shoved their fingers into her mouth, checking for pieces of her grandmother's flesh. One, he tells MailOnline proudly, has even gone to university

Earthquakes abound.. With the world constantly awaiting the ‘big one’ somewhere next — we have had big ones before and we will again–there are rumblings from California. The left coast is shaking.

As SFGATE report:

An earthquake swarm continues to shake the San Ramon Valley with almost 200 temblors rippling through the region through Monday afternoon, when a 2.8 quake struck at 4:02 p.m followed by a 3.5 quake,the largest in the series, and a second 2.8 quake, both at 4:21. 

  The 4:21 quakes were widely felt in the East Bay.

Most of the 25 quakes, which started at 11:58 p.m. Saturday, were felt within the Tri-Valley region of Contra Costa and eastern Alameda counties. The swarm could last for days or weeks, then end without notice, say earthquake experts.

The swarm appears unlikely at this point to stop..

Various sources report that FANDANGO and others have crashed due to pre-sale tickets for STAR WARS striking a blow to the websites.. UK sites crashed, too..

Ross Lincoln reports on DEADLINE that FANDANGO was the hardest hit of all the sellers. The site was continuously timing out as the ticket-hopefuls lined up on the virtual dashboard. Only to find nothing .. a dead page. A URL gone wrong in the modern era..

LINCOLN WROTE,

Fandango was most seriously affected as of this writing, with the site timing out before the home page loads when we attempted to access it. Service for ticket sellers has been spotty all over, and though many fans were eventually able to purchase tickets after several attempts, others are reporting they’ve gotten access only for these sites to crash again before finalization. Clearly, this film is likely to meet the already sky-high (or, if you prefer, orbital) predictions for box office earnings. That’s small comfort for those still unable to buy their tickets – Predictably, fans were not happy, taking to twitter en masse to lament their destiny.

1444929678284This week, the buzz was clear.. there is a potential “megastructure” somewhere out there..  it is a structure, or thing in space, that blocks a lot of sunlight.. It may be a Dyson Sphere.. it may be well.. dust.. It could be something very exciting, or something exciting but just not contained within it life.  From a few days back:

DISCOVERY’s website quoted:

A star, named KIC 8462852, has been found with a highly curious transit signal.In a paper submitted to the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, astronomers, including citizen scientists from the Planet Hunters crowdsourcing program, report: “Over the duration of the Kepler mission, KIC 8462852 was observed to undergo irregularly shaped, aperiodic dips in flux down to below the 20 percent level.”

The research paper is thorough, describing the phenomenon, pointing out that this star is unique – we’ve seen nothing like it. Kepler has collected data on this star steadily for four years. It’s not instrumental error. Kepler isn’t seeing things; the signal is real.

“We’d never seen anything like this star,” Tabetha Boyajian, a postdoctorate researcher at Yale University and lead author, told The Atlantic. “It was really weird. We thought it might be bad data or movement on the spacecraft, but everything checked out.”

Today I saw a headline speaking about the internet buzz. It asks what do “real scientists” think of the megastructure idea.. I found that to be a somewhat dismissive headline, no? Something that alleges, in a sense, that the researchers who found this thing to begin with are not real. . . ?

The megastructure story won’t go away.

Last week, one person responsible for pushing it to a wider audience was Art Bell on his show MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT. His competition, George Noory, said the megastructure idea was debunked. Noory is wrong.  It is not debunked. Without further research from Kepler we are without an answer.. speculating about what could be but not knowing what is . It’s amazing and strange, mysterious and inspiring. All at the same time.

One man’s comments are worth listening to .. Michio Kaku has some extremely interesting words to CBS news.. Give it a whirl and see if you have the same dismissive thoughts after listening.
