The tragic situation in Brazil just keeps getting worse.. The bodies were being accounted for, some 230 + are dead.. A story surfaced last night that guards at the Kiss Nightclub in Santa Maria were so confused by the fire that they actually were forcing people to stay in instead of escaping flames.. and now this, a story that is surely one to chill you to your core. We live in the information age.. the age of cell phones. And CNN and other media sources report that when workers were climbing through the wreckage they were greeted by the eerie sounds of cell phones ringing.. No doubt loved ones trying to find their family members. But the calls were unanswered.. the horror at the nightclub that took place this weekend is just another in a long line of the kind that took place over the past several years–most often started by a band using pyrotechnics …
This from the CNN reporting:
“It was a really complicated scene. A lot of smoke, a lot of shoes that was left, cell phones, because everybody tried to get out of there running,” he said. “While we were there, we saw the cell phones were ringing. It was parents, friends, trying to know about what was happening and nobody was answering.”
According to reports from the scene about 2,000 people were in the Kiss Nightclub when the fire broke out. It was double the maximum capacity level for the building. It was tragic from the beginning.. truly a shame this happened..
This is a little weird, but with our constantly changing global weather patterns, not surprising at all: it’s January but we are already talking about chances for some very severe weather come Wednesday along the East Coast and in some big cities too.. this after an ice storm tomorrow. And then a turn to colder air after the severe weather with warmth.. strange stuff.
The HORROR REPORT is also watching the big storm in the North Atlantic and will cover whatever effects it has on Europe..

The latest OPC 48 hour Atlantic Surface forecast chart (top left), valid 00Z January 26, continues to show an expected hurricane force low pressure system in the central North Atlantic. The forecasted central pressure is 939mb with winds of 80 knots, deepening to 928mb by 72 hours! The corresponding OPC 48 hour Atlantic Wind Wave forecast chart (bottom right) is indicating potential significant wave heights of 10.5 meters (34 feet)!

By today, the WaveWatch forecast model was predicting waves over 42 feet (above), with 36-foot waves near shore in Ireland and the United Kingdom later this week! While there aren’t any buoys in the middle of the ocean where the storm was the strongest, the nearestNDBC buoy off the Ireland coast reported 42-foot waves overnight, while another buoy reported pressure as low as 28.45 inches, the pressure you’d typically see in a Category 4 Hurricane. Winds have also gusted over 40 knots.
I know the Weather Channel decided to name snowstorms on the North American landscape this year. Perhaps they should have thought about mid-winter North Atlantic superstorms!
The latest news coming out about the Kiss Nightclub in Santa Maria: A fire official says the club was 1,000 people over capacity and “according to the information we have, the security guards kept people from leaving the building…
Speaking to local newspaper Diario de Santa Maria, she said the fire had begun after a member of one of the bands lit a flare (others said a firework) about 10 minutes into the show, setting fire to part of the stage.According to her, the fire took hold of the club in less than three minutes.“The band tried to put out the fire with water, but they didn’t manage to,” she said.“After this, they tried with a fire extinguisher. It was all really quick.”

Military choppers stalk the night sky over downtown Miami

This was a joint military and police training exercise to prepare for ‘overseas drills’ and make sure equipment is in check..
But…is there a need to have sounds of the copters opening fire on citizens below? at 1:30 second, ‘blank rounds of gunfire’ were shot from the helicopters.
It’s only just a drill, of course…..
