    No joke, no matter how funny you once thought the concept was: Smart surveillance is here. And the newest form of it that may be rolled out onto your street soon is a talking camera that will not only monitor your every step and stop but also be able to talk to you, too.
    More here from Alex Jones’ Prison Planet on the surveillance equipment, utilized in the UK, that is being prepped to head to streets in the United States. It can record conversations.. But it will have efficient lighting, or so the press release says.

    Marketwatch has the full press release which details the Smartsite ‘state of the art’ surveillance future. 

    It won’t just be your street corner watching you. The press release states the future this way:

    SmartSite is perfectly suited for installation in retail malls, sports venues, on college campuses, and in new construction. A full Activity-Based Costing analysis that would also factor in issues such as more efficient traffic routing during road repairs, special events and emergencies would further strengthen the argument for retrofitting. As the cost of the individual components comes down through economies of scale, the SmartSite system might well become commonplace

    Sound fun?
    Sound futuristic?
    SOUND 1984ish?
    The future is now.  One so dark you’ll need to wear shades.

    I have been receiving lots of feedback concerning a story that Earth Informer starting dedicating lots of space and text to in January of this year: The earth groans and moans that are reportedly taking place all over the world. From Kiev.. to Australia.. to the UK.. to the US–all on YouTube for your downloading and streaming pleasure.

    Among the comments I have received, this latest one from a reader, named Alex, in the UK, is interesting. He wrote to the Earthinformer.com about his personal experience in hearing the loud noise coming from somewhere:

     I was at school and I had a music lesson. The class was quiet and suddenly we all heard this noise; it reminded me of a sound in the game Battlefield Bad Company 2 and sounded very similar to some of the sounds in the videos. The whole Class heard it including the teacher, he even temporally stopped the class just to listen to it. Anyway, I’m rambling on; I asked some of my friends in other classes if they heard it and they said yes. I don’t know what the sounds were as you probably well know there are many theories. Too many to know what to think in my opinion… 

    Good point: Too many theories. Theories abound seemingly more than the noises themselves.

    News of the world never makes a faint heart feel better. This piece of news involving women unknowingly being sold into slavery in China is included with that category of horrific news.


    Reports rumor that hundreds of North Korean women are forced to work in ‘chat rooms’ selling telephone and internet sex.  And who are they talking to? That particular blot appears to go to South Korea.

    Human rights organizations blame South Korean gangs for some of the suffering. Working in cahoots with Chinese Koreans, investing in karaoke bars in China, they are said to hold women against their will while paying them just enough to survive.
    “South Korean businessmen are their best customers,” says Tim Peters, director of Helping Hands Korea, dedicated to aiding North Korean children in China. “It’s a blot on South Korean society,” he says blaming the Chinese for “doing nothing about a criminal system in violation of the rights of women.”
    South Korea’s apathy towards the women’s plight as they get sold to the bidders of China may make more sense when considering that many rich South Korean men are the customers.. 

    The bottom line: Defectors who escape from North Korea are often hit with hardcore slavery in China. If they are sent back to North Korea, they face beatings, captivity, being placed in a room with 60 other women, stripped naked, and most likely tortured for their crime of defecting. 


    This is our modern world, everyone. Not the past. It’s the present. And until the human population gets serious about human rights, it’s the sad future too for many women. 


    And finally, don’t make the mistake of thinking that slavery and abuse of women is confined to one torture camp, one prison, one nation, or one continent. The untold story of so many … the internet is filled with evidence of abuse. 

    This Mother’s Day, honor your mother. Honor important women. Plus think about the tortured souls not being honored but instead being put through untold consequences for just being born the gender that they have been.

    Volcano Popocatepetl, only 50 miles from Mexico City, spewed ash and rock overnight Friday. Villagers nearly looked at the volcano in fear as the plumes rose from the massive mountain. One ash cloud shot over 2 miles into the air. 
    One village six miles from the volcano had rumbling so strong that it sent people into the streets in the darkness, running after feeling tremors.

    “They told us that we need to be ready because if we have to evacuate, they are going to warn us with the church bells,” said Lizbeth Agustin, a 22-year-old candy vendor who had collected half a pail of ash in the town center of Santiago Xalitzintla.

    So that’s the plan.
    When those church bells ring, just don’t run for the nearest church. Run like HELL the other way.

    The newest edition of PLAYBOY. Oh wait.. That’s TIME magazine. This month featuring a Vladimir Putin centerfold spread.
    Trying desperately to keep print alive, TIME? …
    Perhaps the goal is to get teenage boys to read about the news.
    I actually subscribed happily to TIME magazine in the 1990s when I was a teenage boy. To be honest, I loved the news then as much as I do now. But TIME has changed. The times have changed, too.
    Time Magazine is much less a news magazine of record. It’s more a record of pop culture and tech gadgets. 
    The issue of breast feeding, in itself, is interesting. Don’t get me wrong. And I surely don’t subscribe to the idea that it’s perverted in any shape.. But it seems that TIME has subscribed to that. Too bad few subscribe to TIME anymore. But in all seriousness, it would appear that the magazine’s attempt to sexualize breast feeding (And make it creepy with an older kid receiving mom’s milk from the teet) is a gross display of how truly desperate to sell issues it is. 
    Print is desperate to stop the internet from killing it. But few told print that it is already dead. This week’s TIME shows it is just having one last out of body experience before entering the light..

    Victory day celebrations in Russia now marred by the violence taking place in Moscow, where over 200 arrests were made, according to Russian police.

    Protesters covered themselves from the rain. Police stormed in.. The “Moscow Times” tells us that the vast majority of people who were arrested were done so ‘without the use of force.’

    A recent New York Times story detailed “overflowing violence” in Moscow.
