As the World Turns and the Burger Bites.. what’s your favorite “product” between two buns?

Everyone makes jokes about things that are not in their bingo cards for the year, and for all of us, the bingo card did not have fast-food CEOs going on TikTok to take videos of themselves eating their “products.” Not their food, but their products.

It’s been a week of people mocking and generating memes about the McDonald’s CEO for deciding to make a promotional video for the new Golden Arch sandwich. He awkwardly was on social media taking what was considered by most as a pitifully small bite and being overwhelmed by what he thought was the size of the burger that had sesame seeds—something he was shocked at the inventiveness of.

The CEO in question is Chris Kempczinski, who has run McDonald’s since 2019. The promotional clip that circulated online quickly drew ridicule across TikTok and other platforms, with viewers pointing out how awkward the moment felt.

The bite itself became the focus of thousands of reactions, memes, and stitched videos, with people questioning whether the CEO actually eats the company’s food regularly. Instead of creating excitement around the sandwich, the clip seemed to spark a wave of parody content that spread across social media for days. But he loved those crispy onions..

A separate video of him eating a chicken sandwich has people joking that he was actually putting the napkin up to his mouth in order to spit it out.

After the video was widely mocked, Burger King, Wendy’s, and Taco Bell—and everyone else in between—went online to do similar videos but, because of the other response, took larger bites of the product.
And that was the week. That was a week of social media, at least. People making mixes of the video, songs about the video, re-videoing the video, commenting on the video, all at the expense of the McDonald’s CEO.

Listen, anyone who follows conspiracy theories will know one of the most common conspiracy theories that has been active online recently is this thought—albeit gross—that fast-food joints don’t have enough cows to use in their products and are getting medical waste and other forms of ingredients that are less than edible.

It all seems silly and far-fetched until, of course, you see the CEO slam his teeth into a very small portion of a product that he won’t call food and promote that on social media.

Bad buzz. Bad advertising. Strange blowback.

    That’s your week in socials.

These are images of new gigantic Megan Fox ads in New York City.. she appears as an immense giant who seemingly is giving the city a nightmare potential for peril!

Megan Fox was rolled out as the new face of Lotus Watches this week, starring as a colossal version of herself in an eye-popping new ad for its Shine collection.

The 30-year-old appears nearly as tall as the skyscrapers around her as she strolls through Manhattan and steps easily over the Queensboro Bridge.

Near the start of her ad, a view through a diner window sees her immense gold ankle-strap stiletto descending onto the pavement outside.

With a Megan Fox this large, just picture the damage her thumbs could do.

THATS SO CREEPY LOOK AT THE HAND HOLDING THE PHONE!!! WTF ?!?!?!?!?!?!

Verizon is using this picture on its TUMBLR site to drive traffic to its main page, sell products, and just be ‘hip and cool’ like all of the other Tumblr folk.. But take a look at the GIF they created.. maybe someone should do better with this. The hand is clearly moving OFF of the arm while she scrolls her phone.. It looks less like a phone ad and more like a horror movie GIF, I expect the hand of a zombie to raise out from the grass in front of our wired and newspapered couple at any time..

Get to a better state. NOW!

Marketing has taken a darker turn lately.. The other day AARP put out an ad called bath featuring a peaceful scene of a woman bathing her child–the video was called bath. If you listen really closely, the TV in the background featured an announcer talking about martial law being declared in the United States. The AARP ad ends with ‘in your new role.’ Conspiracy theories did abound–I think perhaps rightfully so.. that was quite a creepy ad when you consider the background noise that is subliminally being implanted into your head..

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=22&v=jT6imIqaCQs

But there’s a new visitor on the block taking some attention away from the subliminal that AARP put out. This one is a bit more overt. On May 11, a new State Farm ad promises, something will happen.  They also hashtagged their video “#TuneInEarthlings” ..   The alien angle has seemingly riled up some of the quaint places online. Worries and fears that an invasion is imminent.. does State Farm know something..?!

And will our plans COVER an hostile alien takeover? I think the adjusters may not even show during a crisis of that nature.

Marketing 101.. State Farm is getting great attention from a vast amount of people who’d normally never pay attention to State Farm ads. Probably for the right reasons.. they are using the modern love of horror and sci fi to their advantage with an ad about something from beyond Earth disrupting “Jake’s” life.. I love the ad.

    But the AARP thing?
    That one is freaky.

I would much rather purposely overt horror than the subliminal kind.

So on May 11, perhaps, we’ll know. The aliens strike and State Farm does into hyper-insurance-drive. And then the AARP turns up the volume on their “Bath” promo and lets the world hear about the Martial Law.

Buy your coverage now. Time is running out.
