    The Onion wins the infowar!

    The Onion, the satirical news company that repeatedly spoofed conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, has won the bankruptcy auction for control over his media empire — most notably InfoWars, the far-right, conspiracy-minded website that served as Jones’ primary online platform.

    Jones announced the sale on X Thursday morning.

    Not all details have been made public.. but media reporting this:

    “I just got word 15 minutes ago that my lawyers and folks met with the U.S. trustee over our bankruptcy this morning and they said they are shutting us down even without a court order this morning,” Jones said.

    “The Connecticut democrats with The Onion newspaper bought us,” he added.

    The Onion plans to shutter Jones’ InfoWars and rebuild the website featuring well-known internet humor writers and content creators,according to a person with knowledge of the sale.

    The ultimate conspiracy theorist surely knows how to steal, headlines, despite being banned from Twitter you’re seeing Alex Jones all over due to the program today..

    Hosting controversial guests is nothing new, but he was able to get two of the most controversial people of all time on his program at the height of their controversy.

    Infowars sought Chapter 11 protection in Southern Texas, with liabilities of as much as $10 million, according to a court filing.

    Chapter 11 filings allow a business to keep operating while working on a turnaround plan, and pause pending civil litigation.

    This is being seen as a response to civil lawsuits over Sandy Hook..

    The news reel at Infowars isn’t reporting the news yet..

    Outspoken radio host John B. Wells became a weekend host sensation during the early 2000teens … Coast to Coast AM hired him on as the official weekend host … However, as Wells began treading controversial waters for the program’s PREMIERE RADIO NETWORK heads, the safer Noory decided to toss Wells to the side..

    TODAY as George Noory goes on the Alex Jones radio show, Wells has pointed out hypocrisy..

    So Noory goes on Infowars with Alex to discuss “censorship” today…

    Well I guess he should know all about that after he censored me off C2C in Feb 2014 the moment I started talking about global communism and criticized Obama… What hypocrisy and then he says he’s a dem… go figure

    The midnight express ain’t what it used to be… taking a ride sure got boring when BELL left in ‘10… And WELLS as well only a few years later when he began to outshine NOORY at his own game.

    I have long been a fan of Wells–despite so often disagreeing with him. He was .. at least.. interesting and off the beaten path.

    His interests would have transformed the show away from what Bell created in the 90s and 2000s… maybe that is why Noory got rid of him?

    Nah..

    I call on some more sublte plans: Wells was getting more popular than Noory.

    Now that IAN PUNNETT has returned from time to time, if his star outshines the full time host, expect a lack of seeing Ian on the roster..

    It’s just how things work out in the LA studios..

    I wrote this in 2014 when WELLS left the post:

    He is now going on in life to host his own internet show called the CARAVAN TO MIDNIGHT. Sadly it will be on during the midday–and also sadly for him, his show has been marred with technical difficulties that has stopped him from broadcasting when he said he would. Some say Premiere conspired against him.. Some said the same for Art Bell when suddenly, out of no where, Sirius radio announced that Coast would take over Bell’s spot after his short stint on satellite..

    Premiere and conservative radio is a big Juggernaut. Premiere may be happy with the lunatics and drunks that listen to Noory.. and maybe they were getting a little unsettled with the knowledgeable and questioning souls that tuned into Wells..

    And Art Bell? Well..he plans on coming back in 2015 with his own online show. Maybe it won’t be a Caravan to Midnight.. but it’s always midnight in the desert…

    Art Bell died in 2018…
    Coast to Coast was on life support from 2010 to 2014, and passed away soon after.

    Only a minister named Ian Punnett can bring it back from the lifelessness it has succumbed to in the middle of the night.

    Despite a week’s worth of stories about her controversial interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, the Q&A ended up being watched by only 3.5 million viewers, and was soundly beaten by CBS rival “60 Minutes,” which drew 5.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

    I figured something was up last week when Megyn Kelly visited the set of Alex Jones.. Jones told her to sit in the same chair that Matt Drudge sat in in 2016.. She was joking with him while on his set of his daily syndicated Youtube and radio program..

    All friendly..
    Then ..
    The real interview.. people angry that NBC gave Jones a major voice – though he most likely was one of the biggest influences on the 2016 election of anyway.

    And now this: Controversy! Jones has the secret tapes!

    Alex Jones, the conspiracy-theorizing host of the Infowars website whose controversial interview with NBC’s Megyn Kelly is set to air Sunday night, has fallen back to the argument of every disgruntled interviewee: “They took me out of context.”
    Except in this case, Jones may cause serious trouble for Kelly, who he apparently took the precaution of covertly taping in pre-interview calls and, he claims, the interview itself, which he is now publicizing on Infowars and his YouTube channel. And in those clandestine clips, the former Fox News host appears to promise to go easy on him in the interview. 

    In one 30-minute video Jones published that included extensive audio of a pre-interview call with Kelly, the new NBC hire appeared to promise the interview would be a softball personality piece.
    “My goal is for your listeners and the left—you know, who will be watching some on NBC—to say, ‘Wow, that’s really interesting,” the voice that appears to be Kelly says. “It’s not going to be some gotcha hit piece, I promise you that.”

    I have been following JOHN B WELLS for some time .. For those who don’t know who he is, he was once the weekend host of Coast to Coast AM. He left the program to do his own show, the CARAVAN TO MIDNIGHT–or he was forced out by George Noory and company at Coast–and now he has a pay-per-listen business and broadcasts daily. Ironically, his ‘Midnight’ show airs during the daytime hours. 

    He also hosts conspiracy topics. Often I agree with him.  Often I don’t. But I have always been entertained by his style, his voice, and his knowledge and seemingly amazing memory of interesting tidbits of music, UFOlogy, and conspiracy theory.

    In this video linked here, he unloads quite a bit on Alex Jones, George Noory, and Michael Savage.. It was quite extraordinary to hear some of the statements from Wells. He wants nothing to do with Alex Jones’ INFOWARS, and even alleges that the site simply regurgitates the stories of others and credits themselves with breaking news. He also goes in depth on his criticism of “Dr Savage” and Savages’ tendancy to brag about his wealth on his program.. He also gives Noory, the current COAST host, some zingers about the new ‘Paranormal Date website Noory has been promoting..

    Wells was a divisive host to a degree when he was on Coast to Coast AM. However, his programs rated higher than the weekly shows hosted by Noory and often had more listeners. 
    Perhaps that’s why it’s no surprise that Noory and Danheiser may have wanted Wells to be off the air..
    Even Art Bell has commented on the Wells’ situation in the past.

    But to hear Wells put into words some of the feelings he has evolved into having is fascinating.. Amazing.. Riveting. And regardless of what some may say about his over indulgence on Sandy Hook or other theories, he is interesting. And that is the very thing that Coast to Coast AM currently lack: Being interesting.
