Seph Lawless is back with creepy images of abandoned amusement parks

The photo pictured here is of an abandoned theme park in Ohio. It’s haunting–it looks more like the scene of a horror flick.. But it’s real. It is also among many other strange abandoned structures across the world. Seph Lawless, an amazing photographer who has done the same thing with abandoned malls, is focusing attention on closed amusement parks.. His newest work is labeled BIZARRO.You can see examples of his work here.. But I really recommend you purchase his book–you can also peruse his site to look at some of the amazing empty malls he has photographed. (I personally think my local mall may be next.)I have been following Lawless for some time. He is an amazing artist who makes a point with his work. Often, he puts himself in dangerous situations to get the perfect shot.. He did that with his work on malls, and clearly now the same thing with abandoned amusement parks…Each photo represents a story–with that has laughter in the past with the smell of cotton candy in the air and the sound of organ music. Today lifelessness.. Sadness.. emptiness. Each photograph has a story, if not a multitude of tales under the stars of a warm summer night…..

  • Not a ghost tale, but perhaps even scarier

Not a ghost tale, but perhaps even scarier

I read a fascinating article–thank God I am not the victim here or it would not be fascinating at all–today about a family in New Jersey fleeing their new ‘dream home’ because of frightening letters they were receiving from someone who called himself ‘The Watcher.’

According to the article, the previous owners never told the new ones about this strange person..

    A lawsuit has been filed.

    From CBS NEW YORK:

As CBS2’s Valerie Castro reported, the large six-bedroom home in Union County is being watched – according to a lawsuit filed by its new owners.

They paid $1.3 million for their “dream home” in the picturesque town of Westfield. They claim the previous owners were aware of a man who calls himself “the Watcher,” but they never said anything.

“I would be pretty upset if I bought a house and found out that the previous owners knew about it,” said Robert Hagen of Westfield.

Since moving in, the owners said they have received numerous letters from the mysterious person. “The Watcher” claimed the home “has been the subject of my family for decades,” and “I have been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming,” Castro reported.

The new owners have several children, and other letters asked, “Have they found out what’s in the walls yet?” and “I am pleased to know your names now, and the name of the young blood you have brought to me,” Castro reported.

The bone-chilling letters were enough to send the new family packing. The incident was so unnerving that Westfield Mayor Andy Skibitsky addressed the issue at a Town Council meeting Tuesday night.

There have been frightening ghost stories, such as the Amityville Horror, supposedly chasing a family from their abode. I don’t think I have ever heard of a story quite like the one linked here..

This sounds like the plot of a movie..Some have even accused the family of either embellishing or completely making this up for attention–check the comments thread on the linked article to see that debate.
But if true, this is creepy.
This is not a paranormal story..People are scarier than ghosts..

  • CHARLIE ISN’T DEAD: THE CHALLENGE BACK WITH ‘MASS HYSTERIA’ IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

CHARLIE ISN’T DEAD: THE CHALLENGE BACK WITH ‘MASS HYSTERIA’ IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The CHARLIE CHARLIE challenge set the world on fire over Memorial Day weekend this year, when an untold number of pre-teens, and teens—along with Clyde Lewis on the radio—decided to balance two pencils together and request the presence of Charlie, a supposed Mexican demonic entity..

While the whole pop cultural phenomenon seemingly has waned, the Dominican Republic just had quite the CHARLIE CHARLIE issue while it was taking place. According to reports now being filed in the UK DAILY MAIL and other sources,  four Colombian high school students were brought to the emergency room two weeks ago screaming and babbling.. there were no physical abnormalities or issues. Reporter Alasdair Baverstock writes this in the MAIL:

But parents at the Juan Pablo Duarte Primary School in the town of Hato Mayor in the Dominican Republic, where the original video came from, say their children were ‘possessed by Satan’ after playing the playground game.

‘Three students were absent from class because their parents believed they were possessed by the devil,’ deputy headmistress Jovita Jimenez told MailOnline.

Ms Jimenez’s school is one of various throughout the Hato Mayor region of eastern Dominican Republic, a country where voodoo black magic is common, that has been subjected to what she describes as the ‘satanic craze’.

The entire allure of Charlie Charlie has some interesting causes in my opinion.. the game and myth has been confined to Latin America and Mexico. Cultural experts say that men in those areas are more likely to play the game than women.. But the fact that Twitter and Facebook exploded with it also showcases the changing cultural dynamic of the United States . During the early 1900s, the US of A was greeted with countless immigrants who brought with them the lure and paranormal tales of their home countries, typically in Europe. At that time, Christmas was a time for ghost stories, something that dates back to the Victorian Age.

In 2015, CHARLIE CHARLIE shows that a whole new immigrant impact is occurring. The increasing number of Latin Americans and Mexicans in the United States is having an effect even on the paranormal world and horror establishment.  And with it, new people are being introduced to the friend people South of the border had for a long time: Charlie.

  • THE WORLD’S NEWEST UNSOLVED MYSTERY: MH370 CASE WILL NEVER BE SOLVED

THE WORLD’S NEWEST UNSOLVED MYSTERY: MH370 CASE WILL NEVER BE SOLVED

Something mighty historic just occurred.. the generation that lived through Amelia Earhart’s vanishing act would never had known the amount of a cultural impact with staying power that incident would have.
Today’s mystery began March 2014 when the Malaysian flight MH370 vanished. Somewhere..
And now, in 2015, the hope for answers dashed..the mystery solidified.. And the search is being abandoned.

According to the airline it’s been a wild goose chase. A chase now coming to an end game.

    NBC NEWS reports,

The underwater hunt for missing MH370 is a “goose chase” that will soon be abandoned, according to the boss of one of the world’s largest airlines.

Tim Clark, president of Dubai-based Emirates Airlines, likened the search of the southern Indian Ocean to the decades-old unsolved mystery surrounding the disappearance of aviator Amelia Earhart.

“I think it is only a question of time before the search is abandoned,” he told theSydney Morning Herald on the sidelines of an industry conference in Miami on Tuesday. His remarks were confirmed to NBC News by an airline spokesman.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.

“Do we have solutions? Do we have explanations? Cause? Reasons? No,” said Clark, whose airline is the world’s biggest operator of Boeing 777s — the same type that vanished in March 2014. “It has sent us down a goose chase. It will be an Amelia Earhart repetition.”

    So there you have it.
WE have just lived through history. A passenger jet vanishing from radar. Never being found in water.. wreckage never surfacing. Weird stories of phones still working after the event … all of the intrigue and mystery, rumor and sensation.

    All in history..
And paranormal and mysterious lure to come.

The families will never be the same. Remember seeing their grieving yet hopeful faces on CNN saying that there was more to the story, that the plane had been stolen? Remember all of that?
    I do..

And our children, when they grow up, may ask us about this event. This historic event of a passenger plane going missing without a trace.

You can tell them, as I may tell my own son, that the plane is still flying. Somewhere in a realm or alternate reality.. and every now and then if you listen really really hard, you’ll be able to hear the Malaysian jet still circling the world looking for a place to land.

Hopefully my son will never see the TWILIGHT ZONE that I stole that idea from..

  • I knew it I knew it I knew it I knew.. Charlie Charlie was a fraud!

I knew it I knew it I knew it I knew.. Charlie Charlie was a fraud!

Want to know why CHARLIE CHARLIE came out no where?
    It was all fake.

The GALLOWS is coming.. and that is apparently highly associated with the CHARLIE CHARLIE challenge.

You will have to take my word for this, but a few days ago I actually said that this whole NET phenom was just a Hollywood movie game.. And boom.. E! reports that very thing.

    CHARLIE CHARLIE?….your pencils are dull..
    Charlie Charlie.. the paranormal lull……….

  • Move over ice buckets.. The paranormal CHARLIE CHARLIE challenge has come to social media town..

Move over ice buckets.. The paranormal CHARLIE CHARLIE challenge has come to social media town..

Earlier today I, along with a varied amount of other sources, wrote about the newfound appreciation of an old game called CHARLIE CHARLIE.. Rooted in Mexican paranormal tradition, the game involves using pencils to summons a demon with a pair of people chanting “Charlie Charlie” followed by questions of their choice. And the cautionary tale goes: You must ask Charlie to stop playing the game.

Well the entire internet just blew up this Memorial Day weekend with the ‘Charlie Charlie Challenge’ on social media.. Oliver Darcy at THE BLAZE reports,

It’s dubbed the “Charlie Charlie Challenge” — and it has individuals everywhere attempting to summon a Mexican demon named Charlie through the performance of a paranormal ritual.

Individuals are instructed to form a cross with two pencils on a piece of paper. Inside the four boxes created by the pencils, one is supposed to write either “yes” or “no” and then ask if “Charlie” is present. If the pencil moves toward a box with “yes” that supposedly indicates the demon’s spirit is in the room.

There are two camps when it comes to a story like this, just as there is with the OUIJI board or any other attempt to herald some paranormal souls or demonic entities:
    1) It’s all fake anyway so it doesn’t really matter..
    2) It’s all true or at least partially true, and it’s a dangerous game for youthful ignorants to play around with ancient rituals.

You may have a multitude of thoughts yourself on the matter–I certainly do..
There is no paranormal story I ever wholeheartedly believe.. Nor is there ever ‘too much’ logic in the face of news events like this. But at the same time, there are mysterious things in this mysterious universe, with quantum mechanics in its infancy, I still believe anything is possible.

Along with the possibilities: Maybe even someone named Charlie answered the call of endless amount of people now showcasing their CHARLIE CHARLIE videos on the internet for the entire social media world to see..

Once again this year, paranormal tales are in the news. The mainstream news..

Hopefully all of our CHARLIE CHARLIE video victims remembered to end their game..
