Staring at the sun in reverence: The 2024 solar eclipse

When the sun vanished behind the mighty tiny moon there was a reverence and silence that seemingly came over the crowd..

Animals acted..off.. everything grew dim with long shadows and a dull faint light.

While not totality, it was cooler and calmer than what I experienced in 2017..

When the sun began coming back with light everyone breathed more of a relief than they expected to..

The mighty sun rose again. The heat and safety returned ..

It sure makes sense how worshipping the sun became a thing.

While no massive earth quakes or end times hit us, there were some oddities. Like this:

But this very real and intense moment on ABC news captures it all: The excitement.. the animals reacting.. the silence. the reverence.. the darkness.. The deep seated ancestral fear of darkness.. And the return of the light:

“It is really, truly breathtaking here in Burlington, Vermont.” @ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis were in Burlington, Vermont, as the #EclipseAcrossAmerica made its way across the country. They witnessed the solar eclipse, and the sun’s diamond ring after totality ended. @ABC News Live @Good Morning America @National Geographic

  • New worries over April total solar eclipse

New worries over April total solar eclipse

Call it the new version of y2k.. the fear over the April total solar eclipse leading to blackouts–not of the sun but of electric on the ground..

During the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse, the path of totality in the continental U.S. will extend from Texas in the south to Maine in the northeast. Elsewhere in the U.S., Miami will see a partial eclipse in which a maximum of 46% of the Sun’s disk is obscured. In Seattle, far from the path of totality, the Moon will cover only a maximum of 20% of the Sun. In southern Texas, where the path of totality first crosses into the U.S., the eclipse will last just under three hours, with totality a mere 4 minutes and 27 seconds.

This story about these April 8 eclipse fear is making rounds, with this as the main point:

To plan for an eclipse, electrical system operators need to figure out how much the energy production will drop and how much power people will draw from the reserves. On the day of the 2017 total solar eclipse, for example, solar power generation in the U.S. dropped 25% below average.

Because solar power production falls quickly during the eclipse’s peak, grid operators may need to tap into reserves at a rate that may strain the electrical transmission lines. To try to keep things running smoothly, grid operators will rely on local reserves and minimize power transfer between grids during the event. This should lessen the burden on transmission lines in local grids and prevent temporary blackouts.

    We will survive. No panic..

Although don’t pick up hitchhikers as Oklahoma has warned !!

During the solar eclipse on August 21st, a 70-mile wide shadow from the moon will cut solar power production by about 9,000 MW as it rolls across America’s ever-increasing number of solar arrays…then the solar power will come roaring back. But we can prepare for that…

This is the latest in a series of recent news articles detailing how many across America are acting like the 2 minute eclipse will be similar to the end times..

States Preparing For Historic Eclipse Like A Natural Disaster! »

According to greatamericaneclipse.com, another 1.8 to 7.4-million people will travel into the path on Aug. 21. Several small towns and less populated states are preparing to see their populations double or even triple in the week leading up to the solar event.

And in our country of fear–a nation on edge constantly since 9/11 so many years ago–everything becomes frantic..

Several counties in Idaho and Oregon have already issued emergency declarations. Local officials are citing increased public safety risks, financial damage, and excess costs of cleanup and property damage for the alerts…

The path of totality is in population zones not really prepared for an influx of a great amount of people..

But the panic in media that has been displayed is over the top.

We are on the verge of seeing a major historic event–once in a lifetime event for some people alive today.

Can we please.. PLEASE.. just enjoy it?

    Maybe in 2024.
