    After already sparking backlash months ago over her controversial American Eagle campaign, Sydney Sweeney has once again found herself in hot water—this time quite literally climbing higher than most actors ever do. During a nighttime shoot in Los Angeles, Sweeney was filmed scaling the iconic Hollywood sign and stringing a clothesline of bras from her upcoming lingerie line across the massive letters.

    Tmz, as usual, got the scoop in the video to prove it.


    According to reports, she did secure a permit from Film LA to shoot at the site. What she didn’t reportedly get was approval from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to actually touch or climb the sign itself. That distinction matters. If the chamber chooses to pursue it, the incident could lead to charges ranging from criminal trespassing to vandalism.


    The irony here is hard to ignore. In an era where celebrity branding increasingly relies on shock, spectacle, and viral moments, Sweeney’s marketing seems to be pushing the limits of where promotion ends and provocation begins. Whether this turns into legal trouble or simply another headline in the ongoing reinvention of her public image remains to be seen.


    Either way, Sydney Sweeney continues to prove that in 2026, fame isn’t just about being seen—it’s about how far you’re willing to climb to stay there.

    The HOUSEMAID star is getting the last laugh as her film continues strong at the box office, but the mocked Sweeney was slammed for her good jeans in ’25.. and now being laughed at about sharing a ghost story in ’26..

    She was interviewed in W Magazine about her career journey and upcoming projects.

    Sweeney was asked a light personal question. She was asked whether she believes in ghosts. In response, she shared a memory from her early childhood.

    She explained that when she was in preschool, she had an imaginary friend. The childlike figure would appear on the playground. She often talked about him with her mother. Later, her mother learned that the person matched someone who had died before Sweeney was born. The story, she said, unsettled her family at the time.

    The anecdote was shared casually and without drama. However, sources told Spanish outlet Marca that some studio executives reacted poorly. According to an anonymous insider, the story was mocked in private conversations.

    “I think I’ve seen a ghost,” Sweeney said. “When I was little, I used to have an imaginary friend. He would be on the playground at preschool. I would tell my mom about him. It turns out that he was someone who passed away before I was born. It creeped my mom out.”..

    “Zootopia 2” has remained a box office force since Thanksgiving, with $30.8 million overseas and $40.9 million worldwide in its seventh weekend in theaters..

    Lionsgate’s psychological thriller “The Housemaid” is about to surpass $200 million globally. The film has generated $25.5 million from 66 overseas territories, including a No. 1 bow in the United Kingdom with $23.7 million. So far, the R-rated film, adapted from Freida McFadden’s popular book and starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, has become a breakout hit with $98.3 million internationally and $192.5 million worldwide after four weekends of release.

But back to the topic at hand, Feig’s latest broke through the noise and, against a reported $35 million budget, is well-positioned to become a theatrical hit.

    Kate Hudson, Sydney Sweeney, Wanda Sykes, Nicole Scherzinger and Jamie Lee Curtis were at the center of the star-studded Variety Power of Women presented by Lifetime event in Los Angeles Wednesday night.

    Hosted by Iliza Shlesinger at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the event centered on the accomplishments of Variety‘s five honorees, among many other women throughout media and entertainment over the past year. But more often than not, those women turned the spotlight towards other industries.

    Jamie Lee Curtis made headlines when she was critical of ICE..

    “The team at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The power of women is in every single woman who works at that hospital,” Curtis said. “Every nurse, every child-life specialist, every doctor, every mother of every patient who shows up to try to help these children — that’s the power of women. We see it every day. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is in desperate need right now. The cuts that have been made are awful, and because of the situation in the government, so much of their funding has been lost. People are afraid to go to the hospital because they’re afraid they’re going to be picked up by ICE agents, so they won’t go that hospital.”
