Flames and fires.. food and spirits.. a scene captured in time, just as the right moment.

An image from my night last night.. My wife took this picture just as our chef at Uma Hibachi Steakhouse in St. Clair PA flamed up our food.. I just love this picture.. We had a big group of friends, and share of good laughs..

More saki, more happy, more foodie, more drinky.
A night of food and fun at Uma Japanese hibachi steakhouse in St. Clair, PA..
    Good times..
Hope you all have a great weekend, out there in strangeland..
  • PACIFIC RIMMING weekend?

    PACIFIC RIMMING weekend?

Originally, theaters opening early with PACIFIC RIM Thursday saw steady ticket sales.. though Friday night died down a bit when compared, PACIFIC RIM should do well despite very early predictions that the Warner Bros picture would be a disaster.. Science fiction.. word of mouth, and an A+ rating on many review sites, PACIFIC RIM will be rimming its way all weekend. Expect higher than predicted numbers on this, I say..
Meanwhile, there are still grownups trying to get the kids into movie seats. This weekend, an aging Adam Sandler is back with GROWNUPS 2 .. The SONY picture is released in 3,491 theaters (200 or so more than PACIFIC RIM) so it may gain a monetary advantage and end up in 1st place..
And if GROWNUPS attempts to make people laugh–even though critics relatively didn’t at the film–Nikkie Finke writes on DEADLINE.COM that it shows movie audiences are starved for summer comedy.
    Maybe she has a point.

We have seen the White House blown  to bits..
We have seen a Z of a world war..

We have seen a 12 hour PURGE..
And yes.. we have sharks on SCIFI.
It’s been a pretty dangerous summer so far, hasn’t it?
Maybe comedy and a few laughs are in order–hence the notion that whenever a family friendly film dares to be released, it far surpasses date nights and teenage dreams at midnight..
The kids aren’t alright; maybe the growups aren’t either.
But this weekend.. we’ll be rimming all through the night.
  • The terminator part REAL LIFE

    The terminator part REAL LIFE

READ THIS: And you thought the TERMINATOR was just a movie..

    DARPA is making this..
    The FastCompany article says,
Boston Dynamics has been busy working on an entrant for DARPA’s Virtual Robotics Challenge, a contest aimed to create robots that can help in disaster situation.
Sure.. and it could also crush you with one lugnut if it gets mad.
    You pick.
  • I am going to attempt to stay out of the ever-so-controversial weeds of the George Zimmerman case..

I am going to attempt to stay out of the ever-so-controversial weeds of the George Zimmerman case..

But I can only say this.. I am annoyed, very annoyed actually, with the amount of times both the prosecution and defense used the word ‘really’ in their closing arguments. Apparently both sides have been watching lots of old Tina Fey/Seth Meyers “really” skits from the Weekend Update bit on Saturday Night Live.

    It was completely overdone.
At one point the defense lawyer, you know the one who looks like a sick cross between John Kerry and Mark Furhman of OJ fame, said “really? really? really? really? ” .. .REALLY?!
    Enough!
The jury, all six strong, should have in lockstep shouted back ‘YES REALLY!’
    Really.
