Trump card: The walls come tumbling down

The minority Republicans lost their argument yesterday.. they said the Senate should not be permitted to go through with an impeachment proceeding against a former president.. A dangerous precedent they argued.. The attorneys for Donald Trump–presumably these are being paid at this point–etched out a terrible argument. So bad, many sources told the media, that Trump was left fuming in Florida. Angry and loudly screaming at his television set..

It must have felt just like the old Oval Office days again, as that is what many said occurred regularly during mundane meetings or staff briefings..

The Washington POST has reporters portraying what the situation is like in sunny Florida.. Ashley Parker and Josh Dawsey write,

Ensconced in his private Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla., the former president has spent his days golfing. He has rolled through his phone, calling old friends and allies simply to check in. He has dined on the patio of his lush retreat, often accompanied by a coterie of political aides still on his payroll.

And, as Congress on Tuesday took up a second Senate trial for Trump almost exactly a year after his first, Trump has remained sanguine that an evenly divided Senate will acquit him of charges of inciting an insurrection – despite his egging on of an angry crowd that attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Yet despite his overall confidence, Tuesday’s opening arguments did not unfold as Trump or his allies had hoped. Trump was especially disappointed in the performance of his lawyer Bruce Castor, who gave a rambling argument, wore an ill-fitting suit and at one point praised the case presented by the Democratic House impeachment managers, two people involved in the effort said. The former president – monitoring the trial on television from Florida – had expected a swashbuckling lawyer and instead watched what was a confusing and disjointed performance.

The Democrats opened Impeachment II up with a video comprised of known footage of the Capitol insurrection, along with never before seen clips showcasing the brutality that police were victims of that day, along with several Trump fans who would presumably ‘back the blue’ calling police “pigs” and other derisive expletives.

The footage plays out almost like the plot of a horror film.

It was like the world witnessed and lived through a real life PURGE film..

A video showing events from the Jan. 6, 2020 Capitol riot was produced by the U.S. House Democratic impeachment managers for their case against former President Donald Trump. The video was played at the beginning of the Senate impeachment trial of Trump on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2020.

Meanwhile, as the messy defense book ends what was a messy four years of American life, Senate Republicans are left with a vote of their own conscience.. Their own morals. Their own futures..

Terrible defense left senators stunned and perplexed….

DEJA VU.. did we hear this before? Powerpuff girls to return as disillusioned 20-somethings

    CW makes the order..

    A Powerpuff Girls series..

The series will center on the girls who are now disillusioned twenty-something-year-olds who resent that they lost their childhood to years of fighting crime, according to Variety.

Press reports indicate that the writers and executive producers will be Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody, with the latter executive producing under the banner of Vita Vera Films.

Regnier worked on the recent Veronica Mars revival, iZombie, and Sleepy Hollow while Cody is best known for writing Juno and working on Jennifer’s Body and Young Adult.Greg Berlanti, David Madden, and Sarah Schechter will executive produce the show under the Berlanti Productions banner. Erika Kennair and Warner Bros. Television will produce the show.

While the news is being considered “breaking” today, it would appear that some have quite a short term memory problem.

This news article broke in August, 2020, when the CW announced the POWERPUFF GIRLS would get a live action show, be more adult, and featured the stars as “disillusioned 20-somethings.” Nothing different in today’s “press release” than was displayed months ago..

Perhaps a slow snooze day in the socials..

Breaking news coming next month may include: “CW intends on live action POWERPUFF GIRLS!” … and the masses will forget the original news again..

  • Who’s that Joker!? Leto goes dark

Who’s that Joker!? Leto goes dark

The first images of Jared Leto as the Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League have been revealed.. The images reveal a darker and more dismal portrayal than what we saw in earlier Leto incarnations.

The image was first revealed Vanity Fair and then posted to Twitter by the movie’s official account, show a Joker with heavy white makeup, smudged eyes and lips, and greasy, long hair.

The white coveralls and disguise if his arm and hand tattoos remain…

It would seem Hollywood has decided on a new game.. not who can play the darkest Batman role, but who could play the creepiest or more sinister Joker..

Long gone are the days of bright colors and giddy chuckling..

Instead the horror has been instilled into the role..

  • Tik Tok ‘wokes’ up to David Letterman

Tik Tok ‘wokes’ up to David Letterman

Years after the late night world last David Letterman’s program, the former talk show host is currently in a woke social media uproar on Tik Tok over an old Lindsay Lohan interview!!

    MORE..

Tik Tok user @calabasaswings shared the uncomfortable interview in which Letterman, then in his 10th season as host of The Late Show with David Letterman, repeatedly asks Lohan about going to rehab. At the time, Lohan’s experience with substance use disorder was highly publicized — she was convicted twice of drunken driving and once for cocaine use in 2007, and was in and out of rehab in the subsequent years.

The video here, which was uploaded to YouTube 8 years ago when the interview occurred:

“This is so wrong on so many levels,” TikTok star Madison Beer wrote. Other Tik Tok users have opined similarly and have taken to slam Letterman’s interview, prompting some to ponder if we are witnessing a “cancellation”..

But flashback to media coverage of the interview that took place immediately after in 2013 and you will get a whole different angle.. At that time Hillary Busis wrote this in EW:

Believe it or not, there was more to David Letterman’s big Lindsay Lohan interview than awkward rehab talk. The late night host actually had a surprisingly heartfelt discussion with one of his favorite targets — one that led to Lohan actually tearing up on camera after Letterman praised her for having “enough spine, enough sense of [yourself], and enough poise” to come on the show despite all the jokes he’s made at her expense. Before that earnestness peeked through, though, Letterman and Lohan mostly kept things light, discussing her first appearance on his old NBC show — as a 6-year-old, she played “Things Found on the Floor of the D Train” in a Halloween-themed sketch — and, of course, her checkered past. Lohan said she had planned to do a bit implying that she was wearing a stolen dress; Letterman laughed heartily at the idea.

One thing Lohan didn’t want to make light of: Her upcoming rehab stint, which is scheduled to begin May 2. When Letterman tried to steer the conversation toward that subject partway through the interview, the actress shut him down: “I’m looking forward to actually just taking time for me. You can’t make a joke of it. That’s so mean.” And when Letterman playfully asked if he could lob just one quip, Lohan stood her ground — “We’re not doing that. No. This is my show now.”

Hacker altered chemicals in Oldsmar Florida water supply to ‘damaging’ levels, sheriff says.. they saw the mouse moving on the computer screen!!

A hacker was able to successfully alter the levels of chemicals in Oldsmar’s water supply to ‘potentially damaging’ levels Friday, officials said.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said on Friday morning a plant operator at Oldsmar’s water treatment facility noticed someone remotely accessed the computer system he was monitoring.

The computers are set up for allowing remote access to select people to troubleshoot problems, so the operator didn’t think much about the incident.

When it happened again, observers actually saw the mouse moving on the screen according to reports.

M Night Shyamalan ad premiers during Super Bowl: Promises of “only in theaters” this summer

The trailer promised “only in theaters” this summer…

Some wondered.. what is a theater.
Nonetheless, the new Shyamalan film’s trailer appeared in the early portion of the Super Bowl on CBS..

    The movie is called OLD.

Starring Gael García Beral (Mozart in the Jungle) and Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread), the film is reportedly based on Sandcastle, a graphic novel by Pierre Oscar Levy. The story focuses on a family’s trip to a beach, and the dark secrets they discover behind its corners.

It’s unclear how faithfully Shyamalan’s movie adapts the Levy story, but in the trailer, we get the beach, the family, and true to the director’s horror-thriller roots, a supernatural turn of events.

Old is among a wave of new films shot under strict set guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic…

Cue the “inflatable moon” theory thanks to video from the International Space Station!

Your eyes are not deceiving you. There is a video online where it appears the moon deflates..

The footage was filmed by a Russian cosmonaut on the International Space Station. It seems to show the Earth’s satellite appearing to deflate when it disappears behind the horizon.

But before flat Earth or hollow Earth theorizers pick up on a new “inflatable” moon theory, there appears to be a reason for the appearance: What actually happens in the video is that the moon slowly disappears behind Earth’s horizon and the distortions are caused by the atmosphere of our planet.

    The varying varients

    New fears over the variants!

Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 shot less effective against South African variant

    AP:

British drugmaker AstraZeneca said on Saturday its vaccine developed with the University of Oxford appeared to offer only limited protection against mild disease caused by the South African variant of COVID-19, based on early data from a trial.

The study from South Africa’s University of the Witwatersrand and Oxford University showed the vaccine had significantly reduced efficacy against the South African variant, according to a Financial Times report published earlier in the day.

Among coronavirus variants currently most concerning for scientists and public health experts are the so-called British, South African and Brazilian variants, which appear to spread more swiftly than others.

“In this small phase I/II trial, early data has shown limited efficacy against mild disease primarily due to the B.1.351 South African variant,” an AstraZeneca spokesman said in response to the FT report.

The newspaper said none of the more than 2,000 trial participants had been hospitalized or died.

Just days ago, it was reported that more than 4,000 variants are making their way around the planet ..

“Its very unlikley that the current vaccine won’t be effective on the variants whether in Kent or other variants especially when it comes to severe illness and hospitalization,” Vaccine Deployment Minister Nadhim Zahawi told Sky News in the UK..

“All manufacturers, Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca and others are looking at how they can improve their vaccine to make sure that we are ready for any variant – there are about 4,000 variants around the world of COVID now.”

New Super Bowl ad shows how dull they can be.. but at least this one features a fictional horror star from THE RING

Super Bowl ad features stars and cartoon characters, even Samara from the RING.. all to advertise Paramount+, yet another streaming service.

This time, Patrick Stewart told all of the stars to dance and say “we are metaphors.”

There is something sad about this commercial, almost like a viewpoint from a corporate ivory tower … you are owed, the stars are being told. We will tell you what to do and tell you how we will sell you.

It is unclear who the target audience is for this ad–but it will most likely be ridiculed as one of the flattest when it comes to humor and saddest when it comes to innovation. Nothing cutting edge.. nothing biting. Nothing real.

The only one that appears to be happy is Samara slowly dancing while a freaked out Beavis and Butthead remain speechless..
