For better or worse, Famgoria magazine is putting a SCREAM on his cover for subscribers. The cover story APPEARS on newsstands , for those at least to still buy the magazine after all these years of technological advancements.
The cover is pretty cool, the imagery of the movie is front and center slashing the paper version of the magazine. But here again, the idea of magazines in general or not appreciated it in today’s timeline, but the nostalgia of this film could cause a certain uumph of people to go out and buy the magazine from new stands again.
That seems appropriate, right? So many movie chains closed due to COVID.. but on August 28, it appears that anti social distancing will take place and NEW MUTANTS will be alive and well in safe theaters across the nation.
Unless something else changes. In 2020 anything is possible.
20TH CENTURY released a ‘meet the cast’ of the NEW MUTANTS:
Some have joked online that by the time NEW MUTANTS would be released they would be old mutants.
But it seems like the date may finally give us the film?
Showtimes have been listed for Dolby and Cinemark theaters.. Marcus Theaters are showing movies at 30% capacity and distanced seating with masks required.
AMC and REGAL are going to also be opening some theaters this week .. Of course we will see if there is a ‘FIELD OF DREAMS’ response (if you reopen.. they will come..)
In its latest survey on US adults’ comfort level with certain activities, conducted Friday to Monday, Morning Consult found that most respondents were more comfortable with other activities like going out to eat or going to a shopping mall. Morning Consult surveyed 2,200 US adults, and just 17% said they would be comfortable going to the movies immediately, a dip from about 20% earlier this month.
NEW MUTANTS may change that for some fans who have eagerly anticipated the film for —-years.
And remember: The initial teaser for this film came out 3 YEARS AGO.
After all that time.. they seem to be ready to finally arrive..;
“I can’t wait to bring such an iconic character to life and present him in a way you’ve never seen him before,” Hamill said in a video sharing the news.
Will Logan Paul be or not be in a forthcoming horror movie ..?
Logan’s the centerpiece of writer Jeffrey Reddick‘s new fright flick, “Superstition: The Rule of 3’s.” Production sources told TMZ tonight that he hasn’t been fired in the wake of controversy … Logan had his online dilemma start when he uploaded a video of him bet to a suicide victim in Japan..
Doug Falconer — CEO of Falconer Productions, which is producing ‘Superstition’ — confirms with TMZ … there have been no talks to recast Logan.
That said, TMZ also reports that Falconer do not even hear of the story yet but now that he did he would get back to the site on any changes or developments.
So yes.. there could very well be a quick change coming..
New Line and Warner Bros is celebrating a renewed interest in the box office with IT’s release..
Today the two studios have announced the release date for the sequel to IT as September 6, 2019, where it will debut in regular theaters and IMAX screens..
By that point, ‘IT’ may still be in some theaters.. the movie has been a complete and total phenomenon..And continues to do well..
Though there has been no official announcement, it’s presumed that Andy Muschietti will be returning to direct..
IF you read IT by Stephen King, you may recall there were some elements that could have garnered the film an NC17 or above rating.. Group sex.. masturbation while torturing animals.. and Bevvie’s dad doing MORE to Bevvie than worrying about her..
Lots. Lots of things could have upset the apple cart.
What resulted was a stellar film that, in a perfect would, would be worthy of some Oscars (we know Hollywood doesn’t like to reward horror often however) .. If these few elements would have been included, perhaps the movie’s successful script would never have made it to cinemas.. MOVIEPILOT has a bit more on the items that floated from the script into oblivion. Read with caution.
Concerning the MOST controversial of all (and there are a LOT), this:
Lost in the sewers and with nowhere to turn, Beverley realizes that the only way for the group to escape is for each boy to take it in turns and put their “thing” inside of her. By losing their virginity together, the Losers’ Club can then once more tap into the power of the Turtle and find their way to safety. Yes, this scene is even more insane than the Deadlights themselves, no Muschietti didn’t include it in his adaptation and yes, Stephen King himself continues to defend the sequence, even now.
Whether you believe that the sewer gang-bang should have appeared in the movie or not, it’s fascinating to see how Muschietti tried to remain faithful to #IT while still navigating the controversy of #StephenKing‘s original text. It’s no wonder then that Cary Fukunaga’s original script never made it into production. After all, there’s only so many controversial plot points one can add to a movie before the inevitable starfish attacks and incestuous rapes take things a step too far.
The HORROR REPORT ponders if these omissions are such a bad thing. After all, the film was WILDLY successful and will most likely continue to be throughout at least the early autumn.. Ignoring some of these aspects of the book, even with Stephen King adamantly defending them, may have been the best decision ever made.. mainstream for the masses! The Loser’s Club wins.
Producer Jason Blum, the CEO of the budget-conscious and incredibly successful Blumhouse Productions (Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge) has promised that their planned Halloween sequel – the one written by Danny McBride and David Gordon Greenand directed by Green – will definitely be released by its planned date in October of 2018. And additionally, there’s word that Carpenter himself is still interested in providing the score.
All seemingly good news for Halloween fans for the man who once dubbed himself the Prince of Horror..
The newest incarnation of Halloween, is hoping that viewers ignore Halloweens 4-infinity in place of this one, as it takes place immediately after the Rosenthal Halloween 2.
Getting confusing?
Yes.
And that it why it seems Halloween films have become a mockery of themselves. Nothing serious anymore in the way of actual scares or storylines..
John Carpenter being included, along with a catchy piano song, may help… but I get the feeling that we have been down this long path before. And it leads to nothing but sequels drowning in misadventure and contempt for premise and character development. I’ll give it a chance.
…got to be better than the Rob Zombie versions, no?
