More speculation as yet another cryptic message by Art Bell is put on Facebook

It seems like for years now that speculation has been rampant online, ever since Art Bell left the show Coast to Coast a.m. in 2010..

Any followers of this website will know that we too have speculated about his strange sometimes cryptic messages put on Facebook, and now on his Twitter account..

And now another Sunday comes in another cryptic messages put online, this time it seems that the former radio host is asking for patients before he makes an announcement of… Well whatever the announcement will be..

Here is the screenshot of his latest message:

He has some very ardent fans and supporters, but some have actually felt their previous anticipation suddenly dashed when he made hints that he would return to radio before announcing that the deal and time was not right..

So now the messages are beginning again, as are the questions: Is the time and moment right, now?

I suppose we will all see ‘soon’.

THE CONJURING: Better than expected, as we expeted

CONJURING DIRECTOR JAMES WAN
THE PROFIT RESULTS ARE STORNG WITH THIS ONE

Box office results are coming in.. THE CONJURING has reason to celebrate a strong weekend–as the HORROR REPORT predicted early this weekend, the ticket sale results was even stronger than studio estimates..

The movie should make a little under $40 mil by the time they stop counting..

THE CONJURING was the beneficiary of strong reviews, along with A- reviews from CinemaScore..  Movie critics could not find much to dislike, as they often do with horror films..Even more, some compared it to classics like THE AMITYVILLE HORROR..

This may be the last horror film for a while James Wan–from SAW fame, no less..

The CONJURING is a very different movie from the SAW franchise..  The newest horror flick has been noted for its lack of gore and blood, replacing it instead with a chilling story that is supposedly based on true events.. What you do not see in THE CONJURING is more frightening than any of the goriest scenes that were seen in SAW..

The ‘true story’ aspect of THE CONJURING may have helped pushed this film into scarier terrain. Some may recall the ‘true events’ angle that THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT advertised. Back in the 20th century, prior to the overused information superhighway, many actually watched BLAIR WITCH thinking they were witnesses a real amateur home video..you may recall that.. I certainly do, because it was fun to point out to those who believed it that it was the the furthest thing from the truth you can find..

But THE CONJURING is a little tougher–this film supposedly examines the 1971 haunting of the Perron family. Even more interesting: This film did not stray far from the course of the book about the incident written by an eye witness in the family called HOUSE OF DARKNESS HOUSE OF LIGHT: THE TRUE STORY..

CONJURING director James Wan said that the Perron family saw the film and had ‘gratitude’ for what was done for them in the movie.. Wan said that the film did not portray the family as outlandish or ‘nutty’.. instead the film took the liberty of believing the Perron story..

The film has been called the horror movie of the year and the sleeper hit of the summer–we will see what staying power the movie has..

One aspect of the film’s success this week may have been a poor competition–though some would say Bruce Willis and Anthony Hopkins et al should have done much better with RED 2 than they actually did..

As for the HORROR REPORT:  We did not see the film yet but intend on doing so tonight.. my ticket sales will be added to the $39 mil that the film collected in revenue..

Conjuring up a movie prediction

The film is getting a buzz with word of mouth advertising, Twitter and Facebook, and exceptional reviews.. it may become the horror hit of the summer–and some say the year..

PREDICTION: THE CONJURING WILL DO BETTER THAN WHAT BOX OFFICE EXPERTS HAVE FORECASTED

Newsthirsty Thursday: News your are talking about that does not matter followed by news you have no clue about that matters the world

ALL THE NEWS FOR THURSDAY JULY 18 2013
GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT: Spies on the highway: If you drove ANYWHERE, chances are the government has a record of that.. And in case you’re not driving, but just at an airport, the TSA has that covered too. See, you have nothing to worry about.. you will be watched everywhere. Because one day you may do something wrong.. and if you do, it’s good that they’ll have a record of everything you did. Oh, and if they want to frame you to stop you from talking? they can do that, too..
…do you really think you have any expectation of privacy..?
ROLLING STONE magazine is defending its placement of a handsome looking Tsarnaev on the cover of its new issue.. I wrote about this yesterday, in part saying the outrage is nonsense and we are further arguing in this nation about things that don’t matter. This ROLLING STONE issue makes that point–with even CVS an other retailers saying it is going to ban the magazine from being sold in its stores! We continue to be victims of some pretty high rolling mind games. Take a peek outside your box, America.. there’s more to every story.
Speaking of debating about things that do not matter:
Jenny McCarthy tapped to co-host THE VIEW.. outrage now due to her critical comments about vaccines causing autism.. Yet again, proof Americans get outraged and angry about things that do not matter one hill of beans. At all.. No matter WHAT she thinks about anything.. that is the purpose. She is supposed to be controversial. This is for ratings. Americans who are outraged by this: YOU ARE BEING PLAYED, good.
Moving on to something that does matter: Syrians are fleeing from war at a rate not seen since the Rwandan genocide.. That comes to us from the United Nations.. According to the UN, the number of people fleeing the conflict in Syria has escalated to an average of 6,000 a day during 2013 – a rate not seen since the genocide in Rwanda nearly two decades ago, U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres said on Tuesday… And if anyone remembers those dark days in Rwanda, go back through amnesia lane and treat yourself to some horrid history from the mid 90s..
Update: 23 dead children in India simply for eating a school lunch.. This is such a horrible story.. That is their only crime in life.. eating a school lunch . And now of course the ‘government will investigate’.. And I am sure find allllll the ‘answers’.. There are already some answers, at least some bits of information, being released: The food was laced with pesticides..
Lifestyles of the sequestered.. For some reason, I always would like to think that a jury goes behind doors to deliberate in a hot, sweaty room without an air conditioner working, like in 12 ANGRY MEN. In the case of the George Zimmerman trial, there were no men, and not even 12 people, instead six as Florida allows for a jury trial. Now information has been released about their sequestration .. While in confinement, they enjoyed pedicures, they were permitted to go bowling, shop at the mall, go to the Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum.. and had some dinners at the Outback Steakhouse. Now I don’t decry them for their luxuries.. this was a long trial and they did not get to see their family.. But could they at least have chosen the Texas Roadhouse over Outback? Outback does not even rate! And finally.. I trust that they ….did not see any newspapers while they were out and about, when they used to go out…?
The nightmare before the future: Here are the seven methods of mind control that we face in the future..
Some cancer news that you need to know:

  • A new surgical knife detects cancer..
  • The vile creature known as Bieber now accused of spitting in a DJ’s face in Ohio.. He continues to disrespect the lower-income people who buy his music. When will people learn they are being had? But instead of getting fed up with Bieber Fever, young kids without much common sense continue to scream in chilling anticipation at everything he does. What is the latest he did, aside of urinating in a bucket and spitting on a DJ? He got a tattoo of his mother’s eye. How quaint.
Speaking of drones, there may not be a need for a town to want to shoot one down if they keep crashing on their own. Seriously, one just crashed in Florida with a still active ‘self destruct’ charge.. It closed down a highway for 24 hours. The future should be fun if they keep falling from the sky. Duck and cover.. the sky will be falling.
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5? maybe.. Word is, a January 13 2014 date is in play, instead of Halloween ’13. Interesting choice.. Could it be a lack of confidence that a fifth installment will do well at the box office? January instead of Halloween — or the other side of the coin is that maybe the horror hit will bring life to a typically cold and desolate box office in January.. Could go either way
Another horror flick gets a potential release date.. AMITYVILLE HORROR: THE LOST TAPES set to be released January 3, 2014..
Finally this morning, with the heat brewing and melting parts of the Northeast, find the best way to stay cool you can. Even if you have to wear this..

RUE MORGE interviews the twins behind the twisted AMERICAN MARY

Ian Punnett set to broadcast final Coast to Coast AM radio show tonight

Tonight is set to become Ian Punnett’s last regularly scheduled hosting job on Coast to Coast AM, as and he Tweeted days ago, perhaps the regular program in his life..
Punnett, who hosted since 1998 in some form, has been accepted into the Doctoral program at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University..
Over the years, Punnett has exceeded the call of duty by quite possibly being one of the most intelligent debaters on radio, even fighting with Alex Jones in a famous interview.. Punnett also stayed true to what Art Bell started, often featuring the strange or weird.. He even interviewed a man who thought he was a horse — surely this will be discussed on his final broadcast..
This also begins a new day for Coast to Coast AM..
For years, Punnett was a regular Saturday host. That changed when he was stricken with tinnitus. At that point, he gave up his shift on Saturdays and John B. Wells took the slot..
During a recent chat, George Noory responded to a question about the loss of Punnett and said Wells would pick up another Sunday a month.
Some on the fringe in the audience have long been critical of Punnett for his disagreement with 9/11 truthers and his less than conservative viewpoint. The new modern Coast to Coast has been turned into a far more political program that Bell and Punnett’s version.. In a sense, Punnett was the last vestige of a time when free discussion, the unexplained, and just plain good radio was a nightly occurrence.

Ian Punnett (Twitter) has been hosting Coast to Coast AM since 2000. He bids us a final farewell on this, his last show. Listen for updates from Peter Levenda (occult history), Galen Cook (DB Cooper Case), and others as we drive down memory lane with Ian one last time

     Time Does goes by fast..
1998-2013, a good run for Punnett.
And his voice of moderation and intelligence will be missed after his departure from regular broadcasting..
    AND THEN THERE WAS KNAPP…

The CONJURING gets more praise.. from others and maybe soon from me.

We have all been victim to torture porn and horror gone bad for a decade now.. gruesome and pointless images of death, no heroes in our films.. just hopeless horror made to shock and awe with gore, instead of inspire with the story of the women or men who beat the odds and make it out alive at the end. For decades, the part of horror so many liked was that a hero emerged.. the last decade gave us few heroes, instead hoisting over our heads the burden of bleak endings..
Anyone who has read the HORROR REPORT since 2001 knows I have not at all been a fan of the typical modern horror film. AS a matter of fact, this website always sort of …well..hated the current conception of the genre. I have disliked what Rob Zombie did to HALLOWEEN.. I have dislike the modern view of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.. I thought SAW was creative but sure wished they would have ended with just one..
    Well..
The CONJURING is attempting to bring back another form of horror long gone. .the classic style.
Today the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS is writing a story about THE CONJURING in that sense.. The paper points out all of the horror movies that topped the box office this year.. they are praising the CONJURING for not being what we have seen for the past too many years..
I have high hopes for this film.
AS mentioned before, I am not at all in ‘the mix’ to receive advanced press copies of this film.. Sure wish I was though. The CONJURING may end up not being the best film ever.. but just as JEEPERS CREEPERS was in 2001, it could be the sleeper of this summer..

    Time will tell.

The sweltering heat of the summer coupled with Friday night darkness in theaters.. will the CONJURING scare?
    I think yes.
And for all the right reasons.
