    Factors that Influence Your Dreams

Sounds: Real-life sounds can find their way into your dreams’ storylines. For a restful sleep, play  white noise in the background: It drowns out the other sounds around you and should improve your sleep, allowing for organic dreaming.

Smells: In a small 2008 study, German researchers introduced either a positive smell (roses) or a negative smell (rotten eggs) when women entered rapid eye movement, or REM, sleep — a prime time for dreaming. When the women were woken up, they were asked about what they’d dreamt. Smelling roses yielded positive dreams, while smelling eggs yielded negative dreams.

Sleeping Position: A recent study out of Hong Kong found that sleeping on your stomach increases the chances you’ll have a sexual dream.

Your State of Mind: Not surprisingly, your mental state — not just what happens to you and around you — has a huge impact on your dreams.

Quitting: Ever wonder why you’re haunted by pizza and ice cream in your dreams when you’re trying to lose weight? Whenever you quit something — drinking or smoking or even just cookies — you’re going to dream about it. That is, if you diet or cut out sugar, your dreams are likely to feature a delectable buffet of treats. People who quit smoking tend to have dreams about smoking for the first couple of years afterward stopping the harmful habit — and some are visited infrequently by such dreams even 30 years later.

Drugs and Vitamins: Nicorette, for example, tends to give people intensely vivid dreams. Drugs can also affect dream recall: Since depression makes you less likely to remember your dreams, anti-depressants can counteract that effect. Vitamin B6 has also been shown to help people remember their dreams more vividly and easily.

ALL EYES ON OROVILLE! NEW STORM STRIKES

Forecasters with the National Weather Service offered a stark warning Sunday for just about everyone living in the soggy, soaked Central Valley.

“Pretty much anybody needs to be prepared for the possibility that they may have to evacuate quickly,” said Sacramento meteorologist Brooke Bingaman.

Though most of the valley avoided further flooding Saturday night, the worst may be yet to come Monday and Tuesday, Bingaman said.

20 years later after Phoenix Lights: Bizarre mass ‘triangle UFO sightings’ left witnesses with ‘MEMORY LOSS’:

The Phoenix lights … I recall listening to Art Bell live that night as the event unfolded.. the entire world knew of it by the next morning, and then the Governor even had a divisive mocking press conference featuring an alien to downplay the event as a non-event.

    Enter history.. Enter this:

Some reported a temporary amnesia-like state, when immediately after seeing the lights, they went blank or failed to discuss it with anyone.

Panel moderator filmmaker James Fox, who investigated the case to produce a documentary, said that during interviews with hospice workers, they told how they “watched the lights appear and disappear over a period of time but didn’t say a word about it.”

One woman told him: “We went right back to our tea.”

Jim Mann, director of the Arizona Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) branch, which investigates UFO and alien sightings, told of similar accounts.

A man told Mr Mann he stopped his car to watched the UFOs with several other people and “a craft slowly glided overhead”.

The man said: “Not a word was spoken. After it went on by, everyone got in their car and drove home,” the panel heard.

From YouTube, a good free documentary of the event called The Phoenix Lights incident.

Catholic Church ‘on alert’: Pupils ‘possessed by DEVIL’ after playing with OUIJA BOARD APP

Catholic Church ‘on alert’: Pupils ‘possessed by DEVIL’ after playing with OUIJA BOARD APP:

     A STRANGE STORY..

Young students were struck down by “the devil” this week after a shocking and mysterious “virus” saw its victims scream and writhe in pain, a local mayor said.

About 20 young students were rushed from school to hospital, but doctors have been left befuddled by the “mass possession”.

Harrowing footage from the school in Llora, Colombia show screaming students being carried away by volunteers.

According to Francis Salamanca Martinez, mayor of the Lloro, the students screamed out that “the devil was going to take them with him”.Residents in the area claim the youth suffered a “demonic possession”.Police are still investigating the incident while relatives of the students have asked for the help of local priests.Sources told local media officials at El Colombiano that the country’s Catholic Church was “analysing the case”.

At this point mostly tabloids have reported this story..

I am always a bit standoffish on ‘mass possession’ articles from third world nations for obvious reasons..

But this was worth mentioning given the widespread attention is it garnering online..

Roman Polanski Rape Victim Doesn’t Want You Boycotting Him on Her Behalf:

40 years later, Roman Polanski’s rape of then 13-year-old Samantha Geimer, is speaking out about how her life and her ordeal has become an endless issue of debate and controversy.

    She told TMZ:

I don’t like being used by advocates boycotting that he’s going to be the president of the César Awards, people make a petition without my consent. What happened to me is, sadly, common — however, not the end of the world, and I’m sure I would have been fine, and I was fine, but nobody wants me to be fine … I continue to be asked to be a victim so people can use my experience, change it, make it worse, dramatize it for their own agendas … I’m not a victim anymore, I can speak for myself, I don’t want to be used

It’s alarming to consider this fact: NIGHTMARE 3 (perhaps the best of the entire series) is 30 years old.. I recall this film being in theaters as a small child.. I recall watching the trailers for NIGHTMARE 4 on TV and my grandmother would angrily shut the TV station off…

    Yes.. the memories.

And now these new figures are going to increase the nostalgia..

In the mean time, check this one out:

    ‘JANE ROE’ dead

Norma McCorvey, whose legal challenge under the pseudonym “Jane Roe” led to the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision that legalized abortion but who later became an outspoken opponent of the procedure, died Saturday. She was 69.

McCorvey died at an assisted living center in Katy, Texas, said journalist Joshua Prager, who is working on a book about McCorvey and was with her and her family when she died. He said she died of heart failure and had been ill for some time.

  • Jordan Peele plans to direct a whole series of horror movies about ‘social demons’

Jordan Peele plans to direct a whole series of horror movies about ‘social demons’

Jordan Peele plans to direct a whole series of horror movies about ‘social demons’:

Peele is giving us the social commentary horror film GET OUT. If you did not hear about it yet, you will. In “Get Out,” a young black man (Daniel Kaluuya) finds himself in a very messed up situation —actually a massive understatement — when he goes out to the country to visit his white girlfriend’s (Allison Williams) family. We won’t give anything else away, but if you’ve seen the trailer, you can get a hint of how Peele created a unique chiller that explores real ideas and attitudes about race, some of them quite ugly.

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRfnevzM9kQ?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1&origin=https://safe.txmblr.com&wmode=opaque&w=540&h=304]

But he won’t be done with that movie, apparently.. more are coming.

    From Jason Guerrasio:

But this is far from a one-and-done for Peele. He recently told Business Insider that “Get Out” is the first in a collection of movies he wants to direct that examine what he calls “social demons.”

“I have four other social thrillers that I want to unveil in the next decade,” Peele told Business Insider. “The best and scariest monsters in the world are human beings and what we are capable of especially when we get together. I’ve been working on these premises about these different social demons, these innately human monsters that are woven into the fabric of how we think and how we interact, and each one of my movies is going to be about a different one of these social demons.”

Peele’s examination of race and alienation in “Get Out” is an impressive, confident directorial debut. We can’t wait to see what he will throw at us next, though we’re also pretty afraid.

  • This low-budget Aussie horror film THE KILLING GROUNDS is getting rave reviews overseas

This low-budget Aussie horror film THE KILLING GROUNDS is getting rave reviews overseas

This low-budget Aussie horror film THE KILLING GROUNDS is getting rave reviews overseas:

Australian movies are often so much more real, brutal… startlingly hardcore to the core.. This movie seems the same. For as much lavish praise that the film is getting, it is also receiving this:

Critics have been quick to praise the fact that the violence in Killing Ground(although brutal) is never exploitative, something Power attributes to his time as a censor. “I’ve definitely had a long professional interest in how we watch violence. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just a violent film but a film about violence and what violence does.”

Power feels movie violence is often — wrongly — presented as a heroic option.

“I wanted the film to ask the question ‘What would happen in real life? What would actually happen if I was faced with this threat?’ Because the answer is often different to what happens in the movies. This violence feels very real and I think that’s what people are responding to.”

I think back to one of the most famous Aussie films in my life: FORTRESS. As a kid, and to this day, that movie scared the wits out of me more than anything made in America.

This new movie seems like to could be the same:

What sets Killing Ground apart from other thrillers is its unconventional structure. The film intertwines three separate stories, seemingly in different times and spaces: Two lovers on a weekend getaway; a family in peril and a pair of redneck psychopaths baying for blood.
