Strangest things: Duffers plan spinoffs

The future of Stranger Things shows are in their hands:

“Even if we took the Stranger Things title off of it, I’m so, so excited about it. But it is not… It’s going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix.”

We all knew this was coming–and many of us hoped it would be.

Spinoffs of the popular Netflix hit Stranger Things.. With Season 4 winding down we all know the fifth and final is coming (coming soon is another question, they don’t start filming until next year according to David Harbour) ..

DEADLINE reporting:

Creators and showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer:  “There’s a version of it developing in parallel [to season 5], but they would never shoot it parallel,” Ross reportedly said. “I think actually we’re going to start delving into that soon as we’re winding down and finishing these visual effects, Matt and I are going to start getting into it.”

Matt added,  “The reason we haven’t done anything is just because you don’t want to be doing it for the wrong reasons, and it was just like, ‘Is this something I would want to make regardless of it being related to Stranger Things or not?’ And definitely. Even if we took the Stranger Things title off of it, I’m so, so excited about it. But it is not… It’s going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix.”

Netflix at this point may not care what the storylines will be, just that they work! The streaming service is bleeding money and also laying off people. Heading into a recession, they are looking for hope. Perhaps a future of Duffer Stranger spinoffs is the best hope they’ve got.

It is fair to say–at least this is how we think–that without Stranger Things season 1, Netflix may have struggled a lot sooner than they did.

You should really see the BLACK PHONE in a movie theater

This movie is filled true and real emotion, gritty dialogue, and tension that will make movie audiences gasp and cheer..

This weekend’s box office number 1 is expected to be ELVIS.. the biopic audience is skewing mostly female, and mostly over the age of 55.. But BLACK PHONE is surging beyond expectations..

Box office numbers developing.

But we have a message about BLACK PHONE: We highly encourage anyone who has not seen this film to experience it in a theater, with an audience. This movie should be taken seriously.

It’s not filled with cliched horror jump scares.. It doesn’t have messy dialogue but intensely realistic and gritty ‘how it really was’ style acting about this period of time in American history.

Nostalgia lies .. sometimes things were not so pretty to be a kid in the 1970’s or 80’s when a big threat that adults didn’t seem to care much about was kidnapping.

And finally, the ‘horror’ of Black Phone is more akin to the horror of a crime flick–though in this case the police are neither bumbling but ultimately make importantly bad mistakes.

See it with an audience because, without revealing spoilers, it is sure fun to experience the final dramatic and traumatic scene of the movie with others who have sat through each other minute of tension with you in the same room.

The release is amazing–the ability that this film had to deeply disturb your soul but also calm it at the end is amazing.

Ethan Hawke was plain out horrifying in this movie. Exceptionally creepy.. Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw carried the entire movie so well.

The acting is amazing.. the story line was incredible.. and that mask? That awful creepy mask?

A new Halloween costume has been born..

This movie is great. . There is just about nothing to criticize with Black Phone..

HOPPER GETS FANS GEARED UP FOR STRANGER THINGS 4 FINALE

David Harbour is pretty sure fans will like season 4’s finale..

He also said filming for the 5th and final season will begin NEXT YEAR..

Fans may not like as much.

“If you’ve enjoyed season four up until this point, get ready because the (last two episodes) are the best thing that makes what you’ve seen look like chump change compared to it,” David Harbour, who plays fan favourite character Hopper, told Reuters.

“It’s a masterpiece, it’s beautiful, it’s epic… but it’s also on a scale and a scope that almost gets silly and it’s like wondrous, almost manga-esque… You’re going to be blown away.”

Harbour confirmed to the news agency that filming for season 5 will begin in 2023..

A Mandela Effect at the front door: Ed McMahon did make dreams come through after all

Your memory is right. Ed McMahon did deliver big checks.

Your memory deceives you: it was not for the Publishers Clearinghouse.

There is a famous Mandela Effect that Ed McMahon delivered big checks on commercials to people in their houses for the Publisher’s Clearing House.

In reality, it turns out McMahon never did that for the Publisher’s Clearing House. Instead, it was for another organization: The American Family Publishers.

There has been a long running belief that there is no video or photographic evidence to show Ed delivering big checks to people, despite some saying they have memories to the contrary.

Even the Golden Girls has an episode where Rose gets a phone call and it is Ed McMahon on the other line ready to deliver a check from the Publisher’s Clearing House.

Well after all this time and searching, a clipping has finally been found and is online.

The photo is clearly McMahon with a big check for an individual named Leavitt Baker. It was an AP dispatch that ran in several newspapers that week in 1999..

The article reports about Baker, from Maine, striking it rich on the contest..

There was a quote in the article attributed from Baker saying he didn’t believe he struck it rich until he ‘saw Ed McMahon’ show up.

There is a quote also in the same article from Ed McMahon, who said he handed out more than $100 million to people who won the American Family Publishers sweepstakes.

It could certainly be reasonable to conclude that the American Family Publishers is close enough to the Publishers Clearinghouse that confusion could result..

All of this confusion could certainly be explainable.

Look at this commercial from the Publisher’s Clearing House in which SOMEONE is delivering big checks, and consider that your local newspaper at the time was showing Ed McMahon POSING with big checks for people (and you probably missed it was for a completely different organization at the time):

Despite what we say or think, you may still think that all of this is a big fat Mandela Effect. Nothing will change for some..

But Ed with a check in hand is a change for us. Just a tad.

It’s beginning to explain the Mandela memories just a bit more.

THE UK SUN GOES INTO MORE DETAIL:

Experts have detected the same bug in London sewage samples since April – a clear signal of a community outbreak.

No cases have yet been confirmed in the UK and the UKHSA said samples were found in East and North London.

This, chiefs say ‘suggests it is likely there has been some spread between closely-linked individuals’.

Because of this, they said these cases could be shedding the virus strain in their feces.

Pretty amazing

Get ready to tear up at what may be coming ..

This trailer is as usual amazing and on par with the other most amazing trailer from season 2 when Michael Jackson’s thriller is used as the background song

It would be curious if they decided to add the song Running up the Hill before or after the burst of popularity the song had due to episode 4..
