Where did Pervy Jonathan Byers go? Do we have a Stranger Things ‘Mandela Effect’ on our hands?

Perhaps life is now imitating reality? This is pretty bizarre..

Few weeks ago when Stranger Things 4 was released, it was rumored that the Duffer Brothers were actively changing previous shows to either fix mistakes or solid up the story line.

Here is an earlier article that details their ‘George Lucasing’ history.

People started hearing clock noises in season one when Will was abducted.

Most recently it was rumored by viewers that the scenes where Jonathan Byers is taking photos of Nancy Wheeler… the scenes from season one have been called ‘pervy’ and viewers noticed they were now gone..T

This came from a previous story from Complex that details the changes noticed back in May:

As pointed out by Insider, the scene in question was featured in “The Weirdo on Maple Street,” the second episode of the inaugural season. The original version showed Jonathan Byers, portrayed by Charlie Heaton, hiding in a wooded area as he spies on his classmates and snaps photos of their late-night get-together. At one point during the scene, Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) and Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) go inside the house for an intimate moment. Jonathan continues photographing Nancy through a bedroom window, but pauses once he sees her starting to undress.

In the original episode, Jonathan only hesitates for a few seconds before continuing to take photos of a shirtless Nancy. Fans the scene has since been edited out of the streaming version, as it no longer shows Jonathan taking photos of Nancy in a vulnerable position. Instead, Jonathan lifts up his camera and turns his direction to Barb Holland (Shannon Purser).

But did this specific scene exist ?? This is where things get confusing.

The official Twitter account for the show’s writers’ room posted the following message on Tuesday (26 July): “PSA: no scenes from previous seasons have ever been cut or re-edited. And they never will be.”..

Some fans on social media claimed that they remembered that, in the “original” scene, Jonathan continued to take photos of Nancy as she took her clothes off, which is not what happens in the version of the episode on Netflix now…

The show states they aren’t making changes—and they did not edit out pervy Jonathan scenes..

So what do you remember ? is this some weird new example of CERN going hog wild on a show that subtly deals with time travel?

    Are the writers lying?

Or are we all just mistaken, and creating false memories ..?

THERE IS A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR PEOPLE IF TRUE: Critical elements of leading Alzheimer’s study possibly fraudulent

    image

    The UK GUARDIAN is reporting:

Critical elements of one of the most cited pieces of Alzheimer’s disease research in the last two decades may have been purposely manipulated, according to a report in Science.

Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia globally, according to the World Health Organization. The highly influential paper, which was published in Nature in 2006, has helped guide billions of dollars in US federal government research into Alzheimer’s, according to Science.

The study, which looked at cognitive decline in mice, proposed that a specific amyloid protein may be responsible for cognitive decline. The hypothesis has since dominated the field, and researchers have worked for years to understand the mechanism by which such proteins may lead to decline.

    But it goes on..

But a neuroscientist in Tennessee, Vanderbilt University professor Matthew Schrag, said in a Science article that he and other reviewers have identified as many as 10 papers on the protein that deserve deeper scrutiny. The report also cited other prominent researchers who have had difficulty replicating results of the studies on the specific proteins.

“I focus on what we can see in the published images, and describe them as red flags, not final conclusions,” he told Science, when revealing his role as a whistleblower. “The data should speak for itself.”

The heart of the matter is whether images in multiple papers were manipulated to better support a hypothesis, with the work of researcher Sylvain Lesné under particular examination. Lesné, an associate professor at the University of Minnesota, is now under investigation by the university.

His co-author on several papers is Dr Karen Ashe, also a University of Minnesota researcher and one of the most prominent Alzheimer’s researchers in the country. She described the potential manipulation of images as “devastating,” to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, but criticized the idea that her research into amyloid proteins singularly guided federal and drug company spending.

You can read the full story on the GUARDIAN..

There is a special place in hell for people who would be purposely in manipulation. Mistakes will happen. Sometimes a hypothesis will prove wrong–but it is a working guess..

However deliberant fraud in the face of a disease that wastes people away to an awful state? Unforgivable if true..

There was a certain scene from the Stephen King made for TV adaptation of STORM OF THE CENTURY.. IN one particular scene, Andre Linoge takes on the form of someone’s mom who was wasting away in a nursing home. She tells her son that he never came to visit her or cared for her before she died.. And she tells him hell is repetition. And when he got to hell his eyes would be eaten over, and over, and over again.

Perhaps that is the only comforting thing that could be said in the wake of this news..

Biden Fist bumping with a killer?

Joe Biden’s excellent Saudi Arabia summer trip

With a fist bump to prove it?

Scott Bixby in the DAILY BEAST summarizes it this way: With a rap of his knuckles, President Joe Biden broke one of the most straightforward promises that he made on the presidential campaign trail: to make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a “pariah” over the state-coordinated assassination of a journalist in 2018.

Many beyond the media took notice, with the fist bump image going “virtual” as some would misspell, ‘viral’ as it really should be.

“God love you—what a silly question,” Biden said in response to a reporter’s question about whether he could guarantee that Saudi Arabia wouldn’t target another critic in the future.

“How could I possibly be sure of anything?”

Biden’s decision on Friday to fist-bump with Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince and de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia who U.S. intelligence agencies believe personally ordered the murder and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi, outraged critics of the regime, from Khashoggi’s family to his former employer.

BUT alas! The President said he talked about murder..

“With the respect to the murder of Khashoggi, I raised it at the top of the meeting, making it clear what I thought of it at the time, and what I think of it now,” the president said. “I made my view crystal clear. I said very straightforwardly, for an American president. To be silent on the issue of human rights is inconsistent or inconsistent with who we are and who I am.”

The Washington POST has slammed Biden over the fist..

Winnie the Pooh’s blood and honey really exists

Many out there doubted it was real! It is.

Just when many of you thought it was just a joke, here is the proof that Winnie the Pooh has gone horror..

    BLOOD AND HONEY..

Now that the character is in the public domain, it is fair game. First snatched for a horror flick, and most likely a Oscar worthy performance but all involved! Sarcasm, there, sarcasm..

    The IMDb synopsis reads:

‘It follows Pooh and Piglet as they go on a rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them.’

While horror imitates life and sometimes the opposite, we have fallen into the camp of ‘prude’ on Pooh as a slasher..

There was a comment on Slasher Trash’s Facebook page about this movie that we wholeheartedly agree with:

I love winnie the pooh as in the mind of a child in childhood i loved him ,why have they got to spoil it by bloody gore and take the memory of something beautiful, and turn it into evil that will only childs minds into even more .bloody aggression and violence to influence them in worse things that. lets keep are children in the world of kindness loving and morals, lets keep children precious mind in loving light world and not drag them into the darkness of horror

Midsummer nightmare: The ‘Lies Are Products Tell Us’ is back in grocery store packages again!

The weird note that is being found in grocery store packages has reared its ugly head again.

We previously had some stories about this as they occurred.. It appears the weird note being found in products is primarily happening on the East Coast, and Pennsylvania.

We started to get a number of reports through 2021 of people finding the piece of strange paper in their products.

Just this week as the summer of 2022 reaches its mid-peak, we have yet again been contacted by a reader who found the really bizarre note in a product that they purchased at a Giant Supermarket in Carbon County.

A reader, Katherine, shared information with us a few nights ago that she purchased a box of Velveeta Mac and Cheese at her local Giant. When she opened the product, tucked away at the bottom, was a note that we have all come to know very well.. One we actually attempted to translate back in 2020, though there have been some variations since.

Katheine told us that the box was completely sealed with no evidence of tampering. .She pulled out the contents and all of the packets and found the weird note at the bottom of the box, all folded up neatly.

The new note appears to have some new additions and slight deviations from the past..

The emotions of high strangeness were clear.. Our reader told us that it was very scary for her, and if “they can slip in those without being seen, what else can they do to our food”?

The box had a best used by December 3 2022 on the package, and appeared to be distributed by Kraft Heinz Foods in Chicago Illinois..

Katherine commented to us on her fear: ..”its not like I can even decipher the messages but im def concerned for my family and my child”..

Despite our reporting over the past two years, we have never personally found this note anywhere, despite hearing from those who had firsthand accounts of finding one..

There have been Reddit posts and social media attention to the oddity..

Is it a disgruntled factory worker? Packaging employee? But all those cameras.. wouldn’t someone be caught with ease?

Perhaps someone in a store slipping it in.. ? But no witnesses?

.. And as promised before, the HORROR REPORT will continue to report on any information that is sent in.

Is it time to start considering this type of product breach a crime?

  • Did James Webb find Melmac? A requiem for an alien

Did James Webb find Melmac? A requiem for an alien

A few amazing things occurred this week. Images were finally revealed from the James Webb telescope that are giving us a visual representation of the past.

Of course while they are amazing and breathtaking to some, others have found reason to ponder how similar they look to those awful class school pictures from the 1980s..

But it was in this context that aliens and space life really was abundant this week. For some odd reasons I decided to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-watch the final episode of ALF.. and it just so happened that I also spoke to friends about the little alien from Melmac this week as well..

We already know that Melmac exploded. But why couldn’t Webb find it since it was looking at early space!?

While the James Webb telescope found no evidence of the planet Melmac or ALF’s cat eating friends and family, or Willie Tanner’s real life criminal history, it also did NOT find the continuation of the famous 80s TV show..

Here is a bit of a background..

    ALF. THE ALIEN THAT WAS

Those who were fans then or newcomers long after the 20th century may know very well the real pain that ALF brought. the 80s TV show was a hit. He had commercials. He appeared at awards shows.. he had a Monday night regular series on NBC from September 22, 1986, to March 24, 1990..

The show got that popular that he was even invited to the White House by Nancy Reagan for the 1987 Christmas party… There were rumors that President Reagan himself said ALF was his favorite show.

For the long duration of the program, the hairy alien tried dating. He went on Johnny Carson. And from the first episode, he just wanted his heavy hairy and sarcastic body to be able to get back onto a fixed spaceship and back to his home planet again.

(And it is interesting to note that even then Senator now President Joe Biiden got mocked by ALF)

Think about the pain that ALF felt, forced away from his life.. His planet gone for good and the survivors just zooming around space presumably looking for other lost creatures from the planet. Alf forced away from his home. And on this planet Earth just to search for cats to eat in a society that frowned on it… He even blew up a kitchen..

But in the end, Alf had a tremendously awful existence on Earth despite the humor.. He just wanted to go back to a home that was gone forever… And Willie Tanner never had the right parts to fix the ship to take Alf back up into space. The military was always on to the Tanners from episode one. They figured he was harboring a space creature.

So with this sad existence, it is with particular pain that so many of us watched the finale on that fateful night of March 24, 1990.

By 1989 the show’s ratings were declining. And as its fourth season was coming to a close, network execs pondered whether the series would even continue..

ALF’s writers created a cliffhanger for the season’s final episode that would by default become the series finale.

    THE CLIFFHANGER

Here was the plot: While using a ham radio in a failed attempt to contact Australia, Alf intercepted a coded message sent by his old Melmac friends. They invite ALF to join them on New Melmac, an offer he has trouble accepting but ultimately accepts. The Tanners take him to a secluded field and say their goodbyes. Just as the spaceship’s lights approach, the U.S. Military Alien Task Force arrives, capturing ALF and scaring off the approaching alien ship. The episode ended with a title card that read “To be continued.”

And that, my friends, is where it ended.

There was never ever a continuation. Nothing. we never knew what happened.

Did they take him to torture him at a black site? Was he an eventual Dr. Fauci animal experiment on a virus? Did he go crazy and attack all of the humans including the Tanners? So much could have been done. But it just ended with a whimper as opposed to a bang.

Since this finale painful finale where Alf tries to make jokes about sports and beer with military abductors, we know that producers were verbally told that a season 5 could occur.

However, the network changed its mind and abruptly canceled the show. That fall, a different notable program would debut in ALF’s old time slot: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air..

A 1990 newspaper report in the Baltimore SUN summarized the finale of ALF.. It praised the death of the ALF show.. they longed for the 1988 version, as the 1990 version had been moved to Saturday nights. Death.. The show was doomed.

FAILED ATTEMPTS AT NEW ALF LIFE

There WAS actually an attempt to bring us the follow up on that awful finale. It is rarely recalled because of fan hostility about it…

In 1996,  ABC aired the made-for-TV-movie Project: ALF.

The plot is as follows: It revolved around the Alf’s antics while being held captive by a government agency. ALF was the only character from the original series to appear in the film, a fact that contributed to its many negative reviews. The more-than-five-year gap between series finale and TV movie also bred a lack of interest. Project: ALF has largely become a forgotten footnote in television history.

Fans, including us, reject this final movie .. it’s not canon. It is not ALF universe materials. We live in the world where season 4’s cliffhanger still exists as is..

From popular media reports, Max Wright was so ready to be done with the show that when the final day of taping ended, he immediately cleaned out his dressing room and left the studio, without saying goodbye to any of the cast or crew.

And that is too bad. As aforementioned, a season 5 could have benefited Max Wright greatly.

It was over. And quite frankly, it was not a proper send-off for what Alf created.

Top this day, it we ignore the ALF project and instead we want that last final season. We desire to know what occurred, how the little alien was able to survive with gun-drawn government officials breathing down his hairy neck..

Another final attempt was made to bring us Alf’s antics.

    HEY-OOOOOO!!

In 2004, a series called ALF’s Hit Talk Show debuted on the TV Land cable network.

The show featured ALF in a late-night host role, with Ed McMahon as his sidekick. Guests included Drew Carey, Joan Rivers, Bryan Cranston and Tom Arnold.

The show lasted seven episodes before being canceled.

It just was never meant to be.

    THE REAL ENDING NEVER HAPPENED

Season 5 was meant to be–and it just did not happen.

So we still long for the REAL true and actual series finale .. that finale that could create finality to the painful existence that ALF felt..

Instead we got knee-jerk reaction style shows .. We received next-to-nothing style programs to just give fodder but not feed.

We cry for Alf.. all these years later. He stands there still, waiting for the government folks to make their decision on what painful future Alf would exerience..

Is there a future for an Alf in the modern James Webb world?

Well.. one of those photos from Webb of the many millions of billions of distant galaxies that harbor trillions of zillions of planets may very well end of Alf’s home planet.

We find comfort in the thought that he is back there instead of some lab..

Stranger Things gave us the massacre at Hawkins Lab.

Maybe Alf could at least give us the massacre in a Secluded Field as he escaped their grasp……..!

  • Emmy nominations screw the best part of STRANGER THINGS 4!!

Emmy nominations screw the best part of STRANGER THINGS 4!!

Let’s start by being brutally honest: the Emmys in the Oscars and the Grammys don’t matter anymore. They are all 20th century relics. Their usefulness has run their course, and there from a time and place when pop-culture was given to us instead of us choosing what we wanted..

But there still is a bit of beauty in the dying arts of awards. And when we know that someone in a movie or a TV show or on an album really deserves an award and recognition for their performance, then getting that said award seems very justified.

Fast forward to today… the Emmy’s have gone upside down!

Stranger Things” Season 4 garnered 13 Primetime Emmy nominations on Tuesday.

Emmy Nominations included Outstanding Drama Series, but acting nods for Sadie Sink and Millie Bobby Brown were not among them. The two “Stranger Things” stars were submitted in the supporting actress in a drama series category, but those eight noms instead went to Patricia Arquette (“Severance”), Julia Garner (“Ozark”), Jung Ho-yeon (“Squid Game”), Christina Ricci (“Yellowjackets”), Rhea Seehorn (“Better Call Saul”), J. Smith-Cameron (“Succession”), Sarah Snook (“Succession”) and Sydney Sweeney (“Euphoria”).

For those who have seen season four of Stranger Things, it can be arguably said that Sadie Sink carried the program. Yes, Millie Bobby Brown was amazing. Other than the cast for as well. But each and every time that Sadie appeared as Max on screen, the emotions would run high and her acting was impeccable.

And with these award nominations snubbing them both, it showcases how dramatically out of touch the Emmys are. And, it makes a mockery of their process.
