Ten women have accused the actor and singer Jared Leto of sexual misconduct in a new BBC documentary and report, including several who were underage when they were assaulted, claims Mr. Leto has denied.
Four of the women who spoke to the BBC accused him of criminal behavior. One woman said Mr. Leto sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom when she was 17; another said she had sex with Mr. Leto in California when she was 17, which would be statutory rape at the time
Summertime is so often filled with joyful occasions, vacations, and waves of fun. But in Santa Cruz, California, those waves turned dangerous when tsunami-like surf battered the shoreline. Reports indicate there were multiple water rescues that day, but one in particular has now captured the attention of the nation.
A 10-year-old boy was struggling for his life in the powerful surf when 16-year-old Ryder Williams swam out, reached him, and refused to let go. As the waves continued to crash around them, Ryder kept the child afloat until a human chain of beachgoers was able to pull them both to safety.
Video of the rescue, captured by photographer Scott Vander Dussen and shared by Santa Cruz Now, is remarkable to watch. At one point, as others attempted to enter the water to help, Ryder reportedly told them to stay back because he had the situation under control. It’s one of those moments that genuinely sends chills down your arms because you realize just how much depended on the courage and composure of a 16-year-old in a matter of seconds.
Now that Ryder’s identity has been made public, the story has exploded. His father, retired firefighter Shane Williams, said it brought him to tears when Ryder explained to the UK Guardian and other news outlets that he refused to let go because he knew the boy’s life depended on it. He also said Ryder doesn’t understand why everyone is making such a big deal out of it.. he was simply doing the job he had trained to do.

We live in a time when magazine covers and social media attention are often reserved for politicians, celebrities, influencers, and people famous simply for being famous. Maybe it’s time we spend a little more energy celebrating people like Ryder Williams..ordinary individuals who, when the moment arrived, chose courage over fear.
If there was ever a Hero of the Day, or perhaps even the Hero of the Summer, this young man has certainly earned the title.
Rarely does a movie come around with nearly 100% scores for both critics and audiences on rotten tomatoes.com but we have our film doing that. The Odyssey is being already called the potential movie of the year and all eyes will now be on how much money it makes.
Critics are already calling it the best film of 2026…
It is directed by Christopher Nolan, and based on Homer’s epic poem, starring Matt Damon as Odysseus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope, with an ensemble cast including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Zendaya. It’s a mythic action epic shot entirely on IMAX film..
It’s also meant to be seen on an IMAX screen this weekend…
Netflix did us dirty !? Or the Duffers .. either way as Stranger Things reaches a decade in age, there’s no hidden season or episode.. instead we are getting a book and a grainy edition of the original show..
So now you can watch grainy footage that we would have hated in 1983..
Now streaming only on Netflix, the “Stranger Things: VHS Special Edition” puts a retro style VHS filter atop the entire first season of Netflix’s pop culture sensation!
Netflix previews, “Rewind and relive the first season with a video store vibe that’s glitchy, grainy and gloriously vintage — just like you’d have rented it in 1983.”
A new release from the Duffer Brothers has been announced, and it will be a 392-page hardcover featuring never-before-seen film stills, behind-the-scenes photos, concept art, and person images captured on the set of Stranger Things across all five seasons. The book is written by Matt and Ross Duffer with an introduction from filmmaker Frank Darabont, who was a guest director for season 5.
Stranger Things‘ new photo book is priced at $195 and is part of Assouline’s Legends Collection. The new release will be available from September 8 at assouline.com. An excerpt from Darabont states, “This book shares with my fellow fans images of a time and a place and an effort that will never be repeated.”
Conformity Gaters uniting for one final hopeful battle!
Conformity Gators are having a field day as we now sit just hours away from the 10th anniversary of Stranger Things premiering on Netflix.
For a long time, there has been an overwhelming theory among a fringe group of fans that “Conformity Gate” is happening. A lot of dates have been shared, and a lot of misses have happened. It’s almost like when psychics predict something that doesn’t occur and simply move on to the next date.
Now, however, Matthew Modine is adding to the mystery.
Whether he’s trolling, having fun, or subtly hinting that Conformity Gate could actually be real, fans are paying attention. And listen, we’re not saying Conformity Gate is real… though we still kind of, sort of, hope it would be.
Modine has been busy posting strange little snippets related to Stranger Things, and in at least one comment to a fan asking whether he liked the ending of the series, he either jokingly or factually? wrote back inferring may not be over..
The dedicated group of Conformity Gators isn’t giving up, and honestly, I’m here for the ride. There’s still a small part of me that’s hopeful that maybe, just maybe, they could end up being right.
That said, after many months of rumors about new projects, spin-offs, or a movie that never materialized, it’s probably time to admit that the Duffer Brothers may have missed the mark on whatever expectations fans had built up in their minds, and perhaps we all need to move on.
Paramount is about ready to resuscitate or destroy Freddy once and for all
For better or worse…. The Hollywood Reporter writes that a new Nightmare on Elm Street movie is in the works, with Paramount Pictures having earned the rights to the franchise in order to bring the world of the horror classic to a modern audience.
The new film will be the first under the studio’s new label, Paramount Primal, which will “partner with up-and-coming storytellers as well as established filmmakers to produce smartly budgeted films across a variety of genres, including horror, comedy, action, and grounded science fiction.” (Read: low-budget filmmaking!) This initiative is led by J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, who produced Zach Cregger’s breakout film Barbarian.
There are no details right now so don’t get fooled by internet memes saying that Robert Englund is coming back because we have no idea who will be involved in and what fashion.
But hear us out, if they want to make this successful just hire on Michael Flanagan..
Hollywood needed a new idea.. so they started buying up ideas from YouTubers
We already know that YouTubers have been a big splash in the horror world this year . Executives noticed too because it seems to be the best way to make money with the least amount of their work possible…
But much more appears to be coming.. from the Journal:
Producer Aaron Koontz made another movie with a YouTube creator two years ago, called “Shelby Oaks,” for which he raised the budget on Kickstarter because no one in Hollywood was interested. He was planning to sell “Mandela” earlier this year, then found out about “Backrooms” and decided to wait until the week that movie came out. As the bidding war escalated, Koontz and his partners started eliminating studios that didn’t seem to be as familiar with the material.
“They basically went into ChatGPT and said, ‘What’s the next ‘Backrooms?’” he said.
Numerous agents and producers are preparing pitches based on internet horror concepts that they plan to try to sell to studios in the coming weeks, people familiar with the matter said.
Some of us who hate modern decor now have a health reason to oppose it!
Welcome to a real horror: Modern decor may be causing more harm than good!
A large team of researchers from institutions across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and Canada has published a detailed review arguing that visual discomfort, the headaches, eye strain, nausea, and perceptual distortions that some people experience in response to certain visual stimuli, has a measurable, physical basis in the brain. The paper, published in the journal Vision, pulls together decades of research across neuroscience, architecture, lighting design, and psychology to build a unified theory of why some things are so hard to look at, and what can be done about it.
It argues that the human brain evolved to process the natural world efficiently. When it’s forced to handle the highly repetitive, artificially sharp, and often flickering patterns that dominate modern urban environments — think fluorescent-lit offices, car headlights, striped acoustic panels, or the dense text of a printed page — the researchers argue it may drive greater neural activity than it should, potentially placing excessive demands on the visual cortex.
That metabolic overload, they hypothesize, may be what triggers discomfort, and in people with pattern-sensitive epilepsy, it can provoke seizures.
There will be no nipples to slipple in Moana.. but the bigger question to us is where is the rating for the film on Rotten Tomatoes?
The live action MOANA movie this week is getting really awful reviews.. Some of the worst of the year, even.. even worse than Masters of the Universe and Supergirl.. But with those movies, at least we saw some real people–not just the paid pros–liking it.
This time ROTTEN TOMATOES is simply *at this is written* showing off the critic score but has yet to publish a rating when compiling the audience score..
— The Horror Report (@TheHorrorReport) July 11, 2026
Here we are… almost half the weekend into the debut of the live action film, and we have yet to get a compiled score of the audience reviews..
Meanwhile EVIL DEAD seems to be doing strong among audiences..
While insiders are reporting that the film is gaining an A- score among the under 18 crowd, the movie is not expected to impact theaters very well financially..
