    Massive Phailin poised to bring destruction to vast portions of India..

    ** BREAKING NEWS FROM INDIA.. **
    Tropical Cyclone Phailin, the monster storm that struck India today and the one that is hardly weakening as it batters the nation, has now turned deadly..

    Deaths are already being reported from the nation.. 500,000 people fled as the storm approached.. the monster system is going to bring life-threatening flooding in a large portion of the country.. While winds will diminish, the heavy rains and effects from them will not..

    Phailin is the equivalent of a category 5 U.S. hurricane..
    It has already been compared by some to Katrina as far as strength and size..

    And this storm, like Katrina, is poised to cause misery, heartache, and destruction before it is finished..

    MICHAEL BAY wants to “direct” a horror movie

    Some people may think that Bay’s films were horrors already–of course none were officially categorized in that genre.. While critics have panned him for some stinkers before, TRANSFORMERS were all hits, even when Megan Fox had it out with Bay for whatever reason she and her thumbs did..
    And not only a horror movie, but a self-financed flick.. He told the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER that it’s a dream of his to go down the fear road.. he also said his favorites include THE EXORCIST the SHINING. 
    Some may be frightful of Bay delving into the genre.. 
    I say let him have a shot..
    Could it really be as bad as we have seen over the past ten years? Could Bay really do that much damage?
    We’ll see how much he destroys the concept of THE NINJA TURTLES. I actually think he did pretty darn good with TRANSFORMERS. 
    Maybe a bonus for horror fans would be the inclusion of Megan Fox. And her man-eating toe thumbs. Now that’s a concept worthy of a sequel already.

    GRAVITY sucking all the money at box office.. a distant MACHETE hacks

    Columbus Day box office numbers developing–people are less accepting of newcomers, instead seeing GRAVITY in droves.. I wrote last week that this may be the movie of the year for a few reasons–and this without even seeing it myself yet! Hopefully that will change soon.
    In the meantime.. The numbers as they are rumored to be..

    GRAVITY lost about 25% since last week.. but it will still end up being in first place in domestics this weekend–$124 cumulative since last week is pretty darn good for a sci-fi film in the fall.. $44 mil alone this weekend expected ..

    CAPTAIN PHILLIPS has some rough shores with a second place $26 mil weekend

    It’s still a little CLOUDY on how to judge the 2nd MEATBALLS .. $78 cumulative is a little less than what I expected for the kids film

    But right where I expected it: MACHETE KILLS is going to be number four this week.. A little over $4 mil for the weekend set.. We’ll see how long 2,538 choose to run this R rated flick. Even Lady Gaga’s APPLAUSE couldn’t save MACHETE this time.

    Google is going to do something creepy (to add to their mighty list): Include your face in advertisements..

    Here is how it will work.. On November 11, the new policy takes effect that will use Google + users’ faces in advertisements.
    When a company purchases an ad, your friends will see a version that includes your photo along with what you said about the product..

    Facebook is already doing it.. Google is not in uncharted waters. Of course Facebook is also in a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit from people not too happy about their faces being used to sell something ..
