  • A true ghost story of the man in the rearview mirror

The family member of mine, someone who I will remain nameless, told me of a story that has been happening..

Two times over the past week as she was driving her car alone, a man appeared in her rear view mirror.. she said each time the man was in the passenger seat, when she looked closer and took more than a passing glance, he vanished from sight.

While it is the season to see spirits of other worlds, she felt this foray to the netherworld was a bit alarming.

The interesting thing she relayed to me, and the part that she couldn’t truly understand was as follows: When she first glanced at the man, or figure, she said that she recalled have a 100% recognition of who he was. As a matter fact, she said she thought to herself “hey what are you doing here”.. When she looked away and then re-locked her eyes back on the empty space the entity sat in milliseconds earlier, she had absolutely no recollection as to who he was or how she may have known him for that short instance.

She knew that she knew him, but only for the brief fleeting moment in time, and the memory of whoever he was with quickly gone again .. as far as he was.

There are a number of different theories in the paranormal world as to why someone or something would appear in your backseat as you are driving. Some believe that there is a message a spirit guide is attempting to get to you, others foresee such an occasion as a harbinger of some dreaded doom coming your way. And the best time to reach you is when you are alone in the car with your attention being divided between workings of your vehicle and throw it around, it is claimed ..

That being said, at least for my family member who experienced this is our set of paranormal circumstances, she’s rather dismiss the entire incident from thought. She did the first time. And then the second time it became harder..

I believe wholeheartedly in what she told me, . For me, I was able to judge the truthfulness of her story from the emphatic nature in her voice s she relayed it.. Even more, and the part that scared her the most, she has lost her ability to logically think through why this person in the mirror was there and what is haunting presence means for her.

  • The Pro Clown world is testy over AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAKSHOW

The Pro Clown world is testy over AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAKSHOW

When AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW debuted this month, strong ratings gave the show one of the biggest premieres. Ever..

But the theme of the show was unsettling to some who enjoy the finer things in life. Such as clowns..

According to various reports now, the ‘pro clown’ community is freaking out over the freak show. While it is strange to even comprehend an entire community of people being pro clown, it appears to be the case..

The show’s scariest character is killer clown. In all actuality, the role in the show actually has people truly freaked out..  People are scared .. and real life clowns are lamenting the bashing of their cherished trade.

Clowns in pop culture are nothing new.
When I was young, Pennywise the Dancing Clown appeared in the television adaption of Stephen King’s IT. Tim Curry’s role as the dancing clown was haunting and effective. Until FREAKSHOW, Pennywise may have been the scariest clown to grace our society..

Michael Myers is also a bit of a clown–the blank face of pale death is reminiscent of the appearance of the zany circus actor. Even professional wrestling tried the clown role with “DOINK and Dink” in the 1990s–of course he was a good guy at first and then took on the role of a villain.

    Why are clowns scary?

You may want to check out an truly amazing and listenable GROUND ZERO WITH CLYDE LEWS radio program from the other evening he called “MEDIEVAL CARNIVAL 666.” Lewis did he best to track back the origins of the pale white figure to the Middle Ages, when clowns were introduced to the masses dying from the Bubonic Plague. The clown’s appearance was devised to mock death–the embellished aspects of a clown all had a meaning to represent some part of the process of the body decomposing.

In a 1989 PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER article, the paper profiled a fiction play –based on reality– in which the church employed a squadron of clowns to entertain the dying.  But clowns could be traced back even further than the dark times of the middle ages.. Some say they can be found in ancient Egypt in 2400 BC.  The ghostface appearance came somewhere in the 1800s..
Film and literature always made them seem scary..
And the fear of clowns blossomed into the phobia it is today.

Even the SMITHSONIAN studied the reasons why clowns were so frightening in a 2013 report. They conclude that people have been fearful for centuries of the appearance of a clown.

Recent news has given us more reason to be unsettled.. Only days ago, parts of California were haunted by the appearance of a clown at night named Wasco. Some reports actually had children claiming that clowns were chasing them around the streets at night with an ax.

The notion of a clown showing up at a time when reality has become unfathomably scary is frightening in itself. Imagine the planet suffering through deadly disease, a possible upcoming food crisis, droughts and plagues, and beheadings across the Middle East, and a clown shows up to sit on your local park bench. Armed with the persistent smile, balloons.. or an ax to chase a child across town..

    Goosebumps times 50…

Some disagree that clowns represent death–as we see from the outcry over AMERICAN HORROR STORY, the pro-clown posse is existent.

I argue, though, that they do. Or they at least represent the attempt to mock death–the wild actions and bizarre makeup do have corpse-like features. And more, their mischievousness is tame at face value but also disturbing in a deeper way. Perhaps that is why children jump in fright so often when they initially come in contact with a clown.. especially a clown out of the element, a place such as a bus terminal or under a street light in the middle of the night..

We all seem to be a little unsettled by a clown..But we also latch on to staring at them when we see them. That may explain the amazingly high ratings of AMERICAN HORROR STORY..

So while the clown troupe is annoyed with the representation of their job, perhaps another group is going to get angry at the latest FREAKSHOW.. In the latest episode, conjoined twins played by Sarah Paulson disturbed viewers even more with the singing of the song CRIMINAL by Fiona Apple.. Let the outrage over that begin.

  • Shadows in the corners of your mind

Shadows in the corners of your mind

This is the best month of the year for creepy stories, strange feelings, and the thinning of this reality and merging with another. Or so we think..

October’s season of the witch is one of the most beautiful times of year.. Leaves are shifting from dark green to the amazing colors of autumn.. The winds are a bit more chilled, with each breeze seemingly blowing deeper into your soul than those of the warmer months..

    And the darkness–the darkness!
The darkness penetrates everything in October..
The sun is seen less. When it is actually in the sky, it shines dimmer–of course if you’re not reading this in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s quite the opposite for you.

There’s one more thing that often happens this time of year.. at least to me: Shadows.

Shadows invade …call them shadow people, shadow figures, or just quick sliding darkness in the corner of your eye.

The ‘shadow people’ craze began over a decade ago. Since that time, the Internet and other paranormal sources have been in a constant buzz about what people were seeing.. But shadow people, or ghostly darkness, has been within paranormal lure for generations.  The tales of people seeing figures, dark creatures, or even shadow rats from their vision have been around for years. Some have applied very skeptical science to the notion that we are seeing quick bursts of a paranormal world. Hallucinations, perhaps.. Maybe just optical illusions that are mind is being tricked into thinking is real.

But try to tell yourself in the midst of seeing a peculiar darkness in your sight that it’s not real.. Attempt to explain away what your mind is attempting to explain .. Give it a go and dismiss that creepy and chilling feeling that comes over your entire being when you see a presence of darkness, and feel the cold wrath from the corner of a room..

    Floaters? optical tricks? brain lapses?

    Or maybe a shadow being…
Maybe this world is thinning this time of year–the season where we are on the verge of spilling over into a spirit world..

Ever since I was a kid, I always felt a bit strange on or around Halloween. There seemed to be a very thin reality during that evening.. Maybe pop culture has reinforced the premise that Samhain is really a paranormal reality.

I cannot say if the other worldy does in fact exist. However, I can say this: I have seen more than a few shadow figures this year.. All of them have taken the shape of a human mist, and all but one vanished when I looked directly at it.. That one that did not haunts me.

  • NEW DAWN OF THE DEAD

    NEW DAWN OF THE DEAD

    Dawn of the dead

Things are truly getting bizarre. A few days ago I implored zombie hunters to get their twinkies ready as news broke that two Ebola patients in Africa reportedly rose from the dead..

The steady stream of people coming back to life has not abated. The latest is from Greece.. We’re being told by some of the lamestream media across the pond in the UK that a cancer patient—dead, mind you—began shouting from her casket in her grave.. This is what the LONDON TELEGRAPH reported:

Police said a cemetery worker and two people visitors heard a woman’s voice from inside the 49-year-old cancer patient’s grave on Thursday.

The sounds were reportedly heard by the passers-by shortly after the last relatives of the deceased had left her funeral in the northern town of Peraia.

They are believed to have dug up the grave to try to save her, but by the time they got her out of the ground she had suffocated inside the coffin, according to Greek media.

A doctor summoned to the cemetery pronounced her dead, but dismissed claims that she had revived and had called for help.

Of course a doctor would poo poo the claim that someone rose from the dead .. After all, real zombies don’t exist.

    Except this week.
Three.. two with Ebola, one with cancer..

In this case, the ending was sad, times two.. After the family left the gravesite, the woman actually died again.. If she was dead to begin with, of course.

But at this point, there will be no proof to offer anyone that someone rose from the dead.. The story is complicated. Perhaps the first trauma didn’t kill, and a funeral home didn’t notice.. Maybe embalming did not happen. I don’t know. But I do know that the news has been freaky lately..

As to whether or not she rose from the dead? She’s dead now.. So…….

  • Tis the season for ghosts on camera, fa la la la la, la la la la

Tis the season for ghosts on camera, fa la la la la, la la la la

Police Officer: I captured ghost on camera »

The video is quite convincing actually.

Police are notorious for being a little paranormal…. sometimes sitting in their squad cars late at night, listening to talk radio, especially Coast to Coast AM, letting the bumps in the night rattle them a bit.

But even with that said, the video that this police office thinks contains a ghost clearly does contain.. something. And it’s not a person, or a moth, or anything much with a form. It’s … a light. Or a figure.. or something.

    Or a ghost.

    Tis the season…October is here.

And paranormal is in the news again.

  • Night of the living dead: Ebola patients coming back to life?

Night of the living dead: Ebola patients coming back to life?

Alright.. here comes some potential hardcore science fiction. Or amazingly scary science fact..

The “New Dawn Liberia” is reporting that two Ebola patients have risen from the dead!Their report can be read in its entirety here..

    Quote from the report:

Two Ebola patients, who died of the virus in separate communities in Nimba County have reportedly resurrected in the county. The victims, both females, believed to be in their 60s and 40s respectively, died of the Ebola virus recently in Hope Village Community and the Catholic Community in Ganta, Nimba.

But to the amazement of residents and onlookers on Monday, the deceased reportedly regained life in total disbelief. The NewDawn Nimba County correspondent said the late Dorris Quoi of Hope Village Community and the second victim only identified as Ma Kebeh, said to be in her late 60s, were about to be taken for burial when they resurrected.

Other sources are also reporting on this interesting development in the Ebola virus world..All Africa is one of them.

A few points to keep in mind:

    1. People don’t rise from the dead. Some say Jesus did. Others don’t think he existed.
    2. Ebola has about a 70% death rate. People don’t rise from the dead after dying from Ebola.
    3. The chances are these two patients may not have been dead.
    4. There are good chances that this urban legend online will become some sort of science fact in many places. If these two women actually exist, perhaps they will begin a brand new religion..

And the most intriguing thing to consider .. soldiers (who are now in Africa helping in the aid of Ebola patients) trained to go there by shooting fake zombies.

I say the story is either a hoax or an urban legend gone wrong.. BUT..

News today is too close to fiction..

But… what if this conspiracy theory holds true: That government knew for a decade that a disease would mutate and become the real life zombie apocalypse.. ? If these weird stories from Africa have any grain of salt of truth, then all of those warnings and training seminars involving zombies may finally pay off..

And… just today, Kansas started prepping for the zombie invasion.

Get your Twinkies ready. The game may be about to change.

    Good luck world.

  • Instagrabbing

    Instagrabbing

The internet, simply being what it is, is still a wild west of sorts.. maybe now there are more names and less anonymity.. perhaps more privacy shedding has allowed for an interface of all seeing–or preying eyes–on our every movement.. But it is still filled with odd and sometimes downright frightening fads.

Enter the latest, as reported by Fastcompany.com: A new community on Instagram exists.. In it, users steal other users’ baby photos and children off of the net. And then they role play.. In one incident as reported in the article, this:

Sometimes they create entire fake families. Others then interact in the comments of each photo, role-playing as they virtually feed, burp, swaddle, and even reprimand these virtual children. Some Instagrammers even portray themselves as virtual adoption agencies, where followers can request specific babies and toddlers they’d like to adopt–“Looking for a two-year-old girl with blonde hair, green eyes, and who is feisty”–and the adoption agency then finds a photo, usually without permission. Role playing ensues.

This is weird, creepy.. and perverse in some deeply disturbing way.

The most precious cargo a parent can carry is their own child. Any other worldly concern falls to the bottom of the list when compared to the safety and happiness of their own kith and kin. And that is why this is so bizarre and harsh to contemplate.. someone stealing your child, in a virtual sense. The kidnapping of an identity.. role playing and creating a brand new world for the baby who simply wants to learn, discover, and laugh.  That is chilling..

The world is scary, as are people..

Maybe a few things should be in order before you post.. As people can pry. For example, check your settings. Maybe not allowing just anyone to view your information would be a prime thing to think about. That or maybe even screening friends. .and finally, the fact of the matter is this: You are not a star. I am not a star.. I write on a website. But I can be clicked on and forgotten in seconds, I get that.. perhaps a few customers of my information will stick around. But I certainly will not. I am food for worms, as are you. And often, your photos and opinions does not matter regardless of how many times you bellow it out on the social media platform of your choice. Maybe there comes a time and place for a few photos of your child–I know I have done it. But for the most part, the pictures I take are private. I keep them safe, I don’t upload them to the cloud, and I have a grand plan to get them all printed out in an old fashioned 20th century way. Time is rarely on my side, though, and that has been a long delayed personal project.

Perhaps also the people who do these role playings should be evaluated for mental health. If you know someone who role plays, that’s fine. I have some friends who masquerade on weekends on Civil War and Medieval reenanactors, and zombies. Thus far they haven’t shown me signs that they really believe they are what they pretend they are. But we all need to be careful,.

Staying grounded in the real world–or as real as we perceive it being–is often tough. As nightly news issues its latest blood torn press releases, we often want to fly away into a pretend land where nothing is painful and life lives on forever. But it does not. The real world is now.. you are simply typing letters on a keyboard or reading words on a screen.. The photos of your dinner last night will not impress anyone beyond the second it will take for someone to ‘like it.’ And it does not matter how many followers you have, because there’s  a good chance they really don’t follow anything you say.. The real world, my friends, is dark and dingy.

That being said, it’s still amazing to be alive.
    Your own life..
Not the innocent life of a child who has parents and a family.. don’t steal that. That’s the most important thing someone owns. Don’t be an Instaphile, people.

  • The Satanists sell out!

    The Satanists sell out!

It’s been a busy time for Satanists in Oklahoma.. though things almost fell apart when they stole Communion hosts, once they returned the Body of Christ back to the Catholic Church things were a ‘go’ for them.. The greenlighting of the black mass occurred and the nation shuddered in fear.. Is this only going to be a furtherance of the dreaded ‘gates of hell’ opening on our planet?

    Time will tell, I suppose.
But what we know is this: Their plans for a black mass have been a sell out. (Of course 88 tickets in this case was the number needed to reach their goal, something even PBS telethons would laugh at) ..

The Satanic black mass is going to feature an ‘exorcism’ .. The ‘black mass’ notion is an inversion of the Catholic traditional Latin Mass from the Roman Catholic Church.

The black mass that is upcoming for September 21 in Oklahoma has been condemned and protested.. But under the protections of the Constitution, the government cannot forbid or be involved with the practice of any religion. The mass is a go ..

  • Welcome to the gates of hell?

Welcome to the gates of hell?

This photo shows the Pope speaking before his general audience September 10 2014.

The official Vatican trade reported that Pope Francis greeted a paralyzed man.. There are several other photos from the day but this one I post just sort of stood out at me. Perhaps it’s because the scenery behind the people listening to Francis speak looked like the gates of hell opening, like fire engulfing the row of people who are peacefully listening to what Bergoglio as to say..

It’s actually a freakish image to me, to be honest. I am sure people smarter than me would know some of the deeper meanings that the statue encapsulates. But I don’t know if I want to know..

  • Behind the scenes.. and deep in the mind

Behind the scenes.. and deep in the mind

Remember, during that horror movie you’re watching, it is all just make believe.
If you still don’t believe it, consider this: Behind the scenes photographs of horror flicks .. Hannibal Lector eating not flesh, but a french fry.. Michael Myers enjoying a Dr. Pepper.. And yes, even the gang ‘chillin’ with Freddy K..

A lot of the behind the scenes images are fun and frivolous, but one stood out to me as a little more painful, a little deeper: Heath Ledger, alone, walking with the JOKER mask in hand.

A little interesting side note on that Joker mask used. In the 1960s, Ceser Romero starred in one of the BATMAN shows, called THE JOKER IS WILD. During a scene in the program, Romero is wearing that same clown mask before it is taken off and his true identity is revealed to the viewing television audience. The homage by the use of that mask was to Romero’s version of the villain..
The BUZZFEED list   is a great way to pass the time, have a few chuckles, and see some irony. There’s even an image of Linda Blair next to her robot double—the one whose head turned around while green vomit spewed.
But sorry to be the buzzkill on the fun BUZZFEED lst, but the image of Hedger is a true reminder of the ‘behind the scenes’ hell that often takes place in the mind of an actor.
As a matter of fact, in 2013, we saw how immersed Ledger became in the Joker behind the scenes when his haunting private diary was revealed. And yes, some even hinted as "satanic influences of the JOKER" as the blame for Ledger’s death, and others spoke of a "DARK KNIGHT curse" that probably isn’t true, but certainly is thought provoking to consider.
Nonetheless, there’s lot of behind the scenes images we don’t see. Wish we could.
But until then.. who’s that Joker?
