    Sleepless in class

We all blame kids for not being alright.. Maybe they aren’t getting enough sleep.

One new study claims that kids start school too early to get a good night of sleep and having s tough time in class..

Perhaps a reason among many others that a new growing generation of students need a whole new way of learning for the modern era.

  • The Salem witch convulsions

    The Salem witch convulsions

A good article to read on what may have been behind the Salem witch hysteria.. things like people convulsing and barking like dogs .. Things like mass hysteria.

Give it a read.. And wonder aloud to yourself whether any of this hysteria could easily happen again. Because it can. And in some places, still does on a daily basis ..

  • New Line lunacy

    New Line lunacy

New Line Cinema is set to reboot the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Again. Five years after the failed attempt in 2010..

Details are scarce, but it appears that New Line is going back to the drawing board..

That in itself appears to be a veiled admission that the reboot from the second year of the Obama presidency didn’t hit the mark..

Actually Freddy fans agree. The movie was a disaster, regardless of the stars who appeared..

I have no hope that the newest incarnation will be any different or better..

The original movie is 30 years old. And still, when you watch it, as good and creative as when it first appeared ..

Sometimes you should let classics be classics. Respect them and leave them alone.

I’m talking to you, POLTERGEIST remakers..

    Breasts on Mars

Forget about water, Mars enthusiasts, searching like heck for any sign of something on Mars photos released by NASA, found breasts.

We are being told by those who suspect strangeness on the red planet that a woman with large breasts and long hair was watching the Curiosity Rover when her image was captured..
     MORE HERE..

We have now been treated to Mars crabs, squirrels, Obama’s statue.. just about everything on that rocky red sphere..

And now a woman with flowing hair standing on a rock…
The truth perhaps is out there. As are theories about the odd things being seen on the planet Mars..

  • The night terror dog

    The night terror dog

Mutley the Dog is a good pet. He’s a member of the family. After all, when you bring home an animal from whatever place, whether new or rescued, you welcome into your abode with loving open arms. At least you should. And that is what my family did for Mutley in November 2013.

The Mutley conundrum has been intensifying lately..
You see, he is tremendously nervous, all of the time. He is constantly ready to play like a puppy, but worry like an old aged animal.. He paces around the house when he is alone, does no damage, but anxiously anticipates the master or masterette to be back..

Until recently,  he only seemed to be at ease during the night, when the entire family is asleep. Many nights ended with my son Ayden and my dog Mutley crowded in the ‘big bed’ of mom and dad, scrunched into odd contortions as my wife and I attempt to not fall to the floor due to the lack of space.

But that night time portion has changed. His behavior has completely altered since the summer began. He spends some of his time alone crouched under a desk, balled up in a dark room. Then he springs through the house as though he sat on a pile of nails face up. He never sleeps in the ‘family’ bed anymore.. nor does he seem to want any part of anything. Instead he wants to hide most of the night.

Around 3am or 330am each morning–I am not exaggerating–he begins to poke his nose into the bedroom and run around the room like a rabid animal. He quickly jumps on the bed whimpering, nudging his head to look out of the window. When he does this during the daylight hours, it is because he wants to excrete a bodily function.  At night, the game is different.

I take him outsides when this occurs–just last night this happened three separate times, 3am, 315 am, and 330 am. And one more time at 450am, hence I am writing this blog post at 510am my time.

Each time he is outside, he stand there still.. Silent.. almost like a stone. Staring at the trees, the sky, whatever catches his eye. And he stands in fear.

This is odd behavior for this dog.
He has been a weird and odd animal since we had him, and thunderstorms don’t help.  This newest fearlike mentality has been exacerbated by darkness. And by timing.. The 3am hour..

I don’t know if this means anything more than the pure fact we got a weird dog.
And I certainly cannot figure out what thoughts go through an animal’s head.
But I can tell you with surety: My dog has suddenly changed recently.. to a point where, at night, he has become unrecognizable.

  • The Iran story you’re not hearing about

The Iran story you’re not hearing about

Clyde Lewis typically focuses his radio show on the strange and unusual, with a twist. He’ll ignore the tempest in the teapot of daily news, while the rest of his competitors struggle with political implications. And that is often times what makes his show so special–it’s a tribute to creativity and entertainment, with food for thought and good information mixed in to please the mind during the late night hours..

Last night, though, his show got under my skin–deeper than others that featured tales of ghosts and goblins. This show, last night, focused on the very thing which can kill human nature, the world.. everything: The big asteroid. The lurking monster which is poised to strike. Maybe this year..next year..next century. But it is out there. And if the universe indeed lives forever, it will happen to the planet earth just as it may have 65 million years ago. We think..

Clyde Lewis’ August 3 show was important for a few reasons.  First off, there has been this undying suspicion amongst the conspriacy fishwrappers of the Net world that NASA ‘knows something.’ And that the something is a life altering asteroid strike this September.. Secondly, it gave natural attention to the source of these predictions: A self proclaimed prophet named Efrain Rodriguez. This man’s ideas of a rapture beginning this autumn has been so strong, and caught on so much, even NASA itself was forced to respond, stating that it is not aware of anything on the horizon that will turn Earth into a former human life living pile of rubbish.

A few notable events worldwide have caused a rise in high strangeness, as noted on GROUND ZERO last night. News tidbits such as these:

A ‘heat dome’ in Iran so strong, that temperatures rose to 165 degrees Fahrenheit. One meteorologist said it was the most incredible observations ever seen.

It does not end there. The continuing Iran story unfolded after the heat dome became yesterday’s news was even weirder: A series of serious meteor impacts in various places in Iran, along with observable seismic activity to coincide.  Somewhat like Russia in the winter of 2013 over the Ural Mountains..

The news blackout on the Iranian meteor issue is startling, however..
Media sources have been busy reporting on every angle and aspect of the Obama Administration nuclear deal with the nation George W. Bush declared a card carrying member of the Axis of Evil, but the same sources aren’t too busy worrying about an actual event of true seismic proportions. The strange blackout has even inspired counter-conspiracy claims that the meteorite story is false to begin with, that something else is afoot and the activity in the nation isn’t what it seems..

A few days ago Tehran confirmed the meteor strike. But the reports of that confirmation have not been shared on worldwide publications that gain the most respect as news networks.. The ‘other guys’ have been busy saying it, along with on the scene reporting from Twitter users in the areas affected by the purported meteor.

Oh, and not to be outdone by Christians pastors predicting the end times in September, but this newest meteor hit in Iran has given rise to cultural rumors in the nation that their Messiah is coming.

I have written prior that this September asteroid rumor has been around for some time.. And that the source of the prophecy may be questionable.  I find myself standing by that assertion. Maybe because I sort of believe it..maybe because part of me is a little freaked that it could also be true..

    Are you rapture ready?
    Did you clean up?
    Jesus may come today.
    As may an asteroid.
Wake me up when September ends.

  • Of life and death under the shroud of night

Of life and death under the shroud of night

    6e609595The 3am curse occurs again..

Last night, while most of the East Coast was undoubtedly sleeping through a peaceful summer night, I found myself pacing the house around three in the morning—the witching hour I have often written about on this site. While I don’t profess to know why the curse of sleeplessness of night terrors hits at this moment in time, it seemingly does each chance it gets.

This time I was awakened by a mysterious feeling. As a matter of fact, it was one of the immediate ‘wake ups’ where you’re shaking, or at least feeling like the room is moving. However, I could not recall what dream I had just been removed from.. I felt like something plopped my body down onto the bed and I was simply propelled back into a reality that didn’t exist only seconds prior.

So I did what anyone else would do.. sneak my way through a dark hallway, attempt not to stumble over my son’s toys—along the family pet Mutley the dog—and make my way to the kitchen cabinet and grab a few chocolate chip cookies.

Once I wake up at this time, it’s ridiculously difficult for me to get back into the sleep feeling again. These are the times I find myself chasing airwaves of radio stations or firing up a computer and watching the BYTEs as they fly through the air…

This night, however, as I nibbled a bit on a few cookies—perhaps too many to admit without Katie Couric blasting me for sugar intake—I also found myself focusing on some relatives who passed away.. It began as just a thought about my grandmother, and then my aunt, and then my uncle, and then friends, and then pets… by the time my cookie was just crumbs I was talking to these former breathing beings as though they were in the room with me. At least I wished they were in the room with me..

If I had a dime for every time I yelled out to someone who has left this planet, I’d be a wealthy man. Typically, my angst over life comes out when I visit cemeteries alone. It is those moments in time when my guard is down, when I cry out, even pound on the green grass, in a show of anger over not knowing if loved ones have a life after this. I blog about the bizarre and weird, paranormal and spiritual, yet I end most days not knowing what in this planet there is to believe in. What ‘reality’ is true, and what happens when we die. Paranormal mysteries often can be explained through science eventually..
    Except consciousness..
That seems to the one perplexing item very few people can explain away with any surety.
What scares me is contemplating that consciousness, in all its amazing wonder, ends when your blood stops flowing, and when your heart stops beating. That somehow, this entire life of love and laughter, tears and pain, can be over with the drop of a hat. Finished.. complete. Kaput.

So last night as I sat in a dark room staring into the infinity of space and time out my window, I once again took the moment to ask loved ones if they are still around. If they are watching me, or if they have gone onto heaven.. hell.. the abyss..

Like other times, I ended my prayer-like conversation with no answer. No feedback.. nothing. As other times before.

The silence is not proof or disproof of anything. It is simply proof of silence.

This moment of life, I realized why I even write anything on this website to begin with. I was covered by a roof, but my primal fears were the same as any other ancestor before me. Darkness around me, I was on a course for a night of deep and dark thoughts, coupled with nostalgic gut wrenching memories… and prayers to a higher power I have no clue if existent.

Night terrors don’t always occur during sleep.
There are times when they meet and greet you in conscious thought.

An empty carton of cookies—and an angry son after he discovers I ate the last remaining ones—later, I took myself back to the bedroom. Laid down. And slept for about a half hour before the alarm clock went off.. Before I woke up and got dressed for work.. a job where you have to pretend that night terrors don’t exist.. a job that does not contemplate mysterious or passion, but instead exists with a pure emptiness of emotion. Like any job.. Because jobs aren’t natural either.

The other natural things in life, the only sure bets, are these: Darkness, night terrors, mysterious, and questions.

    Answers are seldom.
But minds, unsettled, should never stop asking.. And you should never let silence stop you from continuing to pound your first against the post, and still insist you see a ghost.

“If there’s anything current going on, we’re not involved — we being me, Rob [Tapert and] Sam [Raimi],” she told EW.com on Friday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills. “But [NBC] could be doing it without us; they have the right to, don’t they? … I’d love to see it happen and I know that NBC wants to do it, but they’re just trying to find a way and a time.”
“I really couldn’t live that life,” she told the site. “I look back, I’ve got all sort of wear and tear from that lifestyle. That’s just what happens to human bodies when they get used a certain way a lot. I actually couldn’t do it. I’m 47, but there’s somebody great out there.”
