    The Defense Department has spent more than a year testing a device purchased in an undercover operation that some investigators think could be the cause of a series of mysterious ailments impacting US spies, diplomats and troops that are colloquially known as Havana Syndrome, according to four sources briefed on the matter.

    A division of the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, purchased the device for millions of dollars in the waning days of the Biden administration, using funding provided by the Defense Department, according to two of the sources. Officials paid “eight figures” for the device, these people said, declining to offer a more specific number.

The BBC confirmed that the morgue was overflowing at Poursina Hospital in Rasht city after at least 70 bodies were brought there overnight. Elsewhere, a medic at a Tehran hospital said their staff was in crisis mode after protesters were brought in with “direct shots to the heads” and “to their hearts as well”.

    The bloodshed comes as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has signalled a coming clampdown, despite US warnings. Tehran escalated its threats Saturday, with Iran’s attorney general, Mohammad Movahedi Azad, warning that anyone taking part in protests will be considered an “enemy of God”, a death penalty charge.

    The federal government’s Boeing E-4B Nightwatch — a military aircraft known, somewhat alarmingly, as the “Doomsday Plane” — touched down at Los Angeles International Airport this week, in what may be the famed aircraft’s first-ever LAX landing.

    Aviation enthusiasts spotted the plane on Thursday on its approach to LAX. Billed by the U.S. Air Force as a “highly survivable command, control and communications center.”

    The plane is equipped to serve as an airborne operations center for the president, the Defense Secretary and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the event of a disaster that wipes out command centers on land.

    The United States hit Venezuela with a “large-scale strike” early Saturday and said its president had been captured and flown out of the country after months of intense pressure on Nicolás Maduro’s government — an extraordinary nighttime operation announced by President Donald Trump on social media hours after the attack.

    The legal authority for the strike — and whether Trump consulted Congress beforehand — was not immediately clear.

    Attorney General Pam Bondi said on social media on Saturday that both Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores had been indicted in the Southern District of New York. There has been no public indictment of her.

    So, a funny thing happened at 3 o’clock in the morning last night.

    I’ve been scrolling social media today and seeing a strange pattern — a lot of people say they suddenly woke up around that exact time. Some say their Alexa beeped weirdly or just stopped working. Others can’t explain why they woke up, only that something felt off.

    Coincidence? Maybe. But that’s also right around the moment when the big internet outage began.

    Across the globe, Amazon Web Services went dark — and when AWS goes down, so does a huge chunk of the modern world. Social apps, gaming platforms, even Roku and Fortnite were hit. Slowly but surely, things have come back online… but no one seems completely sure why it happened.

    And then came a new twist.

    China has accused the United States of launching a “major cyberattack” against its National Time Service Center, claiming it could have disrupted communications, financial systems, and even the power grid. In a statement posted on WeChat, China’s Ministry of State Security said it had “irrefutable evidence” that the NSA exploited a security flaw in a foreign phone brand’s messaging service to steal sensitive data.

    Now, there’s speculation tonight that what we experienced here — this mysterious outage — might have been retaliation.

    No official explanations. Just silence, glitches, and a lot of people wide awake at 3 a.m.

    Maybe it’s nothing.
    Maybe it’s something.

    She reached out to Tucker Carlson for advice. His response? Agree to the silence, but only for a limited time. Owens reportedly relayed that back to Trump, who, she says, seemed disinterested in temporary deals.

    According to his post, this marks a direct and aggressive military strike, escalating an already boiling conflict between Iran and Israel ..

    In a recording of a telephone call heard by CNN, a person outside of Iran hoping to hear their friend’s voice on the other line, was instead met with a robotic voice. “Hello, and thank you for taking the time to listen,” the voice says.

    “Life is full of unexpected surprises,” it continues, “and these surprises can sometimes bring joy while, at other times, they challenge us.

    “The key is to discover the strength within us to overcome these challenges.”

    The unsettling message, which lasts nearly 90 seconds, then goes on to recommend the listener close their eyes and imagine themself in a place that brings them “peace and happiness.”
