Google Tests A.I. Tool That Can Write News

    This just in!

Everything you’re about to read about artificial intelligence will be written by artificial intelligence. At a certain point when everything that we consume is written by AI, and everything that we do is run by AI won’t be the point of us? This is unsettling and happening quickly. It’s not just manufacturing jobs anymore folks. The future is Natalie now, but perhaps it’s so late at the future was then, and we’re beyond.

The tool, known internally by the working title Genesis, can take in information — details of current events, for example — and generate news copy, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the product.

One of the three people familiar with the product said that Google believed it could serve as a kind of personal assistant for journalists, automating some tasks to free up time for others, and that the company saw it as responsible technology that could help steer the publishing industry away from the pitfalls of generative A.I.

Some executives who saw Google’s pitch described it as unsettling, asking not to be identified discussing a confidential matter. Two people said it seemed to take for granted the effort that went into producing accurate and artful news stories.

A Google spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Times and The Post declined to comment.

  • Phoenix Arizona: 18 Days of Extreme Heat With No End in Sight

Phoenix Arizona: 18 Days of Extreme Heat With No End in Sight

Oppressive is not the word for this. Phoenix is just one of the many locations globally right now dealing with terrible heat and extreme summer conditions.

I’m sure there’s many places around the globe that are enjoying beautiful sunny beach weather but for the most part, it seems like everyone’s pretty miserable with the summer of 2023

The temperatures are “very extreme,” said Matt Salerno, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix. “We’re talking 10 degrees above where they normally are.” The city set another heat record on Monday: eight consecutive days in which the overnight temperature never dipped below 90 degrees.

The heat is particularly brutal and inescapable at the sprawling homeless encampment in central Phoenix known as “The Zone.”

There are barely any trees and, this July, people have been suffering second-degree burns after they pass out or fall asleep on the hot asphalt and sidewalks.

There are few sources of running water other than donated bottles and portable wash stations. So a spigot outside a shelter often has a line of people pouring water over their heads and filling up five-gallons jugs to take back to their tents.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Movie Dead at Netflix

    Really.. are you shocked ?

“Masters of the Universe,” a live-action movie based on He-Man and a slew of other popular Mattel toys, is officially dead at Netflix, according to multiple Variety sources.

Insiders said that close to $30 million has already been spent on development costs and the cash that’s been shelled out to hold on to talent – like previously announced lead Kyle Allen and the film’s heatseeking directing duo Adam and Aaron Nee (“The Lost City”). Other knowledgable sources estimate all-in costs for development at twice that figure

  • The Sound of Bias? Ignoring a movie does not make it go away

The Sound of Bias? Ignoring a movie does not make it go away

Everyone is talking about the movie “SOUND OF FREEDOM“. Everyone that is except for journalists, unless they’re giving some commentary that only the “Fox News crowd“ appreciates the film.

So from what we are told, SOUND OF FREEDOM is a pretty controversial movie about human trafficking, and yes, the media has been alarmed by the insistence of the “QAnon“ crowd, urging people to see it.

Before the movie came out, human trafficking seemed to be an important issue that was widespread. After SOUND OF FREEDOM began to take the box office by storm in a sleeper summer style, most dismissed widespread and conspiratorial human trafficking with immediacy.

Queue the DEADLINE headline: The words talk about the number one film in the movie industry. The big top films, nationwide, and how much money they made, your typical Sunday quarterbacking.

Not even a mention of SOUND OF FREEDOM.

However, when you look at the real numbers, SOUND is now number two in the nation and seemingly rising.

    That was not predicted.

The media not talking about it will not make SOUND OF FREEDOM go away.

  • UAP summer

    UAP summer

Senator Chuck Schumer wants answers on UFOs. Or as the media and government officials now call UAP’s.

It’s a very interesting time that we’re living through no? The idea that government officials are putting the term extraterrestrial into legislation and public statements.

News media talking about the twilight zone as though we live right in it. This is now, this is our current time.

It will be interesting, because I guarantee you that if UFOs are revealed to be possibly true, a huge segment of the population that believed UFOs were real will suddenly stop believing their real because the government has disclosed them care to take a wager with me on that?

Steeeeerikeeee … human fight back against AI in Hollywood

One of the biggest tech advances is a major issue in the Hollywood strike..

Striking SAG Actors in Disbelief Over Studios’ Dystopian AI Proposal

During SAG-AFTRA negotiations, the studios allegedly demanded the ability to use AI on background actors for a day rate, owning their image

    YAHOO ENTERTAINMENT

And their concern was justified, as chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland laid bare the AMPTP’s so-called “groundbreaking AI proposal,” which holds the potential to wipe out an entire pathway to breaking into the industry, as well as a reliable source of income for many. The reported proposal hinged on the ability for background actors to be “scanned, get paid for one day’s pay” and for that company to “own that scan of their image, their likeness, and to be able to use it for the rest of eternity in any project they want with no consent and no compensation.”

“It literally was all of our worst fears confirmed when we heard that,” actress Jamie Miller tells Rolling Stone. “It’s kneecapping people from the start.”

Just imagine if the studios win on this!! Solidarity with the unions!

Picture it.. people like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, extras in their early career, would have been sold off after just one appearance. NO other extras for them. The studio would own their face and likeness. No chances for more movies. No chances to go to another studio. Just the same old face.. same old story. All without advancement at all.

There are tons of issues at stake in this contract and strike. But the AI thing? that seems big.

The FBI began investigating Nott after it was discovered he had chatted with Jeremy Pauley, a man from Pennsylvania who was also being investigated for his role in a nationwide scheme to purchase and sell stolen human remains.

Authorities said Pauley provided federal investigators with information on a network of individuals in the scheme, including Cedric Lodge, the morgue manager for the Harvard Medical School who was charged last month.

Police said a Harvard Medical bag was also found in Nott’s home.

Within the past year, authorities said, Pauley was communicating with someone named “William Burke” on Facebook about purchasing skulls and spines.

The two exchanged PayPal information and the information “Burke” had sent was linked back to a PayPal account registered to Nott.

Law enforcement officers viewed Nott’s public Facebook profile and saw him posting about human remains for sale on Facebook as recently as June 2023, according to the document.

Horror wins again! Insidious over Indiana!

We have been covering the box office in movies for a long time, and for decades, it seems that most movie with critics and experts shut down horror before it gets the chance. And each and every time, it seems hard wins at the box office ..

This weekend is no different, Blumhouse has another hit with Insidious the Red Door .. Indiana Jones can’t keep up even with Harrison Ford in CGI..

honestly, a viewing of the movie at a theater was fun. Good jump scares, a clumsy, but decent enough storage to enjoy. But for some reason and ending that had a strange emotional effect, not sure if I can recall having a good crying session at the end of a horror but this did it for me ..
