    There is plenty of scandal still around.. but the stalwarts of celeb reporting are slowly vanishing.. The latest is E! NEWS.. the bold exclamation point and the series of gossip stories about the rich and famous.. It is now a bygone era. It will end and air its final broadcast on September 25..

    Seth Abromovich from The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER sarcastic laments the demise of E!..

    Launched in 1991, its innovation was that it took showbiz as seriously as CNN took politics and crime. In doing so, E! News helped popularize the modern fixation on a side of Hollywood once meant for industry eyes only — everything from celebrity bad behavior to box office grosses.

    E! anchor told the REPORTER:

    “There was that time, like 2008 to 2012 — the Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears era, going to Kitson on Robertson,” Kennedy reminisces. “It’s almost like an untouchable time in entertainment news, and I was just lucky to be a part of it.”

    Some of his most memorable stories involved celebrity deaths. “I think we did 48 hours of live coverage for Michael Jackson,” Kennedy recalls of the pop titan’s fatal propofol overdose in 2009, during which he worked for E! News as a correspondent. “I’ll never forget arriving at the scene at UCLA Medical Center after he died. Thousands of people showed up.”

    Prosecutors in the Sean Combs sex trafficking and racketeering case informed the judge they will no longer pursue theories that the hip-hop mogul was involved in attempted arson and attempted kidnapping, according to a letter submitted to the court.

    Those two alleged acts were included in the government’s racketeering conspiracy charge, which is count one in the indictment against Diddy…

    The racketeering conspiracy still alleges Combs was involved in transportation for purposes of prostitution, witness tampering, bribery, and drug-related offenses.

    Billy Joel is cancelling every concert on his itinerary, 17 shows in total booked at stadiums across North America and England, due to a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).

    “This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,” reads a statement from Joel’s team. “Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health.”

    “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience,” Joel says in a statement, “and thank you for understanding.”

    The Wall Street Journal among those reporting, “Some of the biggest movers and shakers” live here, said Cindy Ambuehl, a former actress and real-estate agent who lives in Santa Monica Canyon. “These people, most know them as big celebrities. We know them as the football coach or [fellow] parent on bake-sale day,” she said. “This is our community.”

    The actors John Goodman along with Miles Teller of “Top Gun: Maverick” fame, who bought a $7.5 million home in Pacific Palisades in 2023, weren’t so lucky.

The situation with diddy continues to spiral, and it will play out in a slow motion nature. In court, other Hollywood stars were set to be included, and now one of the biggest names in modern pop culture is being accused.

    The federal lawsuit was originally filed in October in the Southern District of New York, listing Combs as a defendant. It was refiled Sunday to include Carter.  

    Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who filed the suit, did not comment.

    “We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates,” Buzbee said during the news conference..
