    The modern Office

So many questions! Today, Michael Scott, from Dunder Mifflin fame announced on Instagram, that other peers “The Office“ is returning.

Steve Carrell, earlier this morning, confirmed what was already rumors for days that a reboot of the hit show the Office was going to start..

Questions to down. Fans, some excited, and some a little worried the show may not be too funny, are debating the potential fallacy of bringing back a show that featured off-color humor and risky political incorrectness.

Also questions as to what the show will be based on. Even in the early 2000s the concept of a paper company still existing was pretty far-fetched.

In the modern age, how many clients can the shows fictitious company possibly still have a Lackawanna county Pennsylvania.

Beyond that, other stars of the program often commented they were not interested in being a part of a reboot.

In the modern era, a number of fans who found the office after many years of the show being off TV. A whole new generation of The Office fans. Will they, and the old fans, still watch?

The upside down becomes Right side up again: Production on Stranger Things 5 restarts

With the writer, strike coming to an end, it appears that production on Stranger Things season five will also resume after a long delayed hiatus…

    More..

The production on season 5 was supposed to start in May 2023. However due to the WGA strike, the Duffer Brothers had announced that the commencement of production for Stranger Things season 5 would remain on hold. As fate would have it, the strike endured for 146 days, resulting in a substantial delay. Furthermore, in July, the actors’ union also initiated a strike that has yet to be resolved.

The memes have not been generous. Some asserting that by the time the production actually begins the kids will be 40. Nonetheless, fans are exceptionally delighted to hear that the gang from Hawkins is back in the game.

  • Flash: Smiling about Smile 2

    Flash: Smiling about Smile 2

Smile grossed around $217 million worldwide on a $17 million budget.

Planning went underwater quickly for a sequel while the iron was still hot. Deadline reported the sequel will be hitting theaters as soon as next year in 2024.

“Paramount has set Oct. 18, 2024 for the next Smile movie.”

Deadline also adds that original Smile director “Parker Finn is coming back to helm Smile 2.”

While smile may make studio executives grinning from ear to ear at potential profits in 2024, the movie itself was one of the better. Additionally, the roll out of the film that included people creepily posing in baseball games and just smiling for nine innings really helped get the word out in an impressive way.

Can they muster up a entrance into the box office fray as successful as their first go around?

If not part 3 will be FROWN.

  • The last time you hang out with friends

The last time you hang out with friends

We see this meme constantly posted everywhere, you do too.. every now and then you’re in that kind of mood where it hits harder.. Maybe it is rainy days. Maybe Tropical Storm Ophelia turning into a ‘depression’ had to 48 hours of rain and 48 hours of deep thoughts..

But think of it.. this exact moment happens to every single one of us. As we age it becomes clearer and clearer. And if you are lucky, you remember the exact moment.

If you are luckier, you are still in the moment and have yet to experience it.

Make it last as long as you can.

Game over? NOT YET!! We survived September 23 2023 but will not avoid future September 23rds

For weeks (and actually months) that slow online Tiktok and viral conspiracy theory spread. Movie after movie featured ominous events coupled with the date of September 23. Movie scenes of Armageddon and destruction all seemed to take place on that specific calendar placeholder.

And now, as this post is written, the date across the entire planet reads September 24.

    We made it.

The end times, the solar flare, the instant death pandemic, the pole shift, and ever other potential disaster seemingly was averted.

That is the thing with this prognostications of dates. They are rarely true.

While you can always count that a summer time family reunion will feature a rain storm no matter which date you pick (if you are inclined to negative thought) there is not much other than that which can be predicted when it comes to the earth or universe doing just about whatever it wants to do.

    So we made it.

    Another year.

But put a sticky note on September 23, 2024. Maybe THAT is the year when it all happens, right?

    Sure.. Maybe.

Don’t let the headline scare you. Everyone reading this will be dead when this event occurs 159 years from now..

But your kids kids may not be..

NASA scientists are predicting a chance that asteroid Bennu will strike Earth in the future, potentially affecting an area the size of Texas.

Bennu is a Near-Earth Object (NEO) that passes by the planet roughly every six years and experts have been watching it since it was discovered in September 1999.

According to scientists, Bennu has an extremely small chance to pass through what they call a “gravity keyhole” which would send it on a collision course with Earth in the year 2182.

  • Memories of 9/11 lost in translation

Memories of 9/11 lost in translation

The annual memorials of 9/11 felt a bit different this year. Even for me.. I have morbidly consumed 9/11 material each year starting around mid-August through the middle of September. I do this not for some macabre enjoyment, but instead it is truly to remember and place myself back into that timeline again. For a moment. To feel those emotions. To witness, again, the tragic events..

Have said before that it was a best of times and worst of times era for me personally. I had just turned 21 and had yet too be crushed by the perils of modern life and adulthood. It was late nights with friends and all you can eat garbage after bars.

On 9/11 it was coupled with the worst of times. This horrid notion that 3000 people can die within minutes on live TV with the entire United States government paralyzed.

It is odd to think, now 22 years later. As the years slowly tick away they seemingly become faster. Like a freight train losing control on tracks to the future! All of us are passengers whether we like it or not.

This year’s anniversary of 9/11 appears to cross into a new place.. one where many who experienced those events that day have aged or even passed away. It was a different era for me. No child, I had my mom and dad, and everyone had those huge tube TVs with bad pictures . Cell phones were gloriously huge. Yet somehow it seemed like technology worked better..

In going back to the past again this year, it was weird to hear the news anchors. They were so worked up and shook that day but their professionalism showed .. they held it together and narrated the end of the world for the country to hear and see. Politicians, though we know the truth that it’s all for show, also held it together and gave us advanced patriotic theater for the moment. They appeared strong even though we new behind the scenes they were stammering.

That was the element this year that stood out. The idea that when compared to 2001, how much we have changed.

It goes without saying that 9/11 changed everything. It changed everything SO much that if 9/11 happened today, 9/11 forever changed what our response to the attacks would be. Internet chaos. TikTok immediate conspiracy. Stumped politicians. News media that wouldn’t know how to talk without a script.

    We sure did change.

That era of the 1990s is gone. It ended on 9/11. And now 22 years later it seems difficult to understand who we have all become, but more so what we never experienced and in the end what we all lost..

    Until next year..

Alabama band director shocked with stun gun and arrested after he wouldn’t stop his band from playing

And the band played on–until the taser..

“BPD officers attempted to take the band director into custody for Disorderly Conduct when a physical altercation ensued between the band director, Birmingham City Schools System personnel, and BPD officers,” said the statement.

Bodycam video released by Birmingham police shows multiple officers telling Mims to end the performance while the band director repeats “get out of my face.”

“We’re fixing to go. This is our last song,” Mims then tells the officers.

When one officer threatens, “You will go to jail,” Mims responds with a thumbs-up and says, “That’s cool.”

The stadium’s field lights are then turned off and the band concludes its song. When Mims steps off the platform, a struggle ensues between him and the officers as they appear to try to handcuff him while he yells “get off of me.”

“He hit the officer. He gotta go to jail,” one officer is heard saying. “He swing on the officer.”

Thousands of minks released from Pennsylvania fur far

This is the same area where monkeys were freed during a truck crash a year ago.

This time dangerous minks are on the loose. Seven thousand to be exact…

    7,000…

“Just stay away. Don’t touch it, don’t try to trap it, and don’t try to catch it. They will bite you, and they can potentially hurt you. We want to make sure the public is safe.”
These mink could also pose a threat to other animals. The nearby Sunbury Animal Hospital talked about ways to keep your pets safe.
“Don’t let (pets) out unattended. Take your dogs out on a leash. Mink might not be big enough to go after a big dog, but that doesn’t mean they can’t get injured by one. I would suspect cats and kittens, kittens especially, could be at risk,” said Dr. Beverly
Any animals you keep outdoors could be at risk.
“People with koi ponds, with backyard poultry and rabbits outside should talk to the Game Commission or check the internet for ways to discourage the mink from getting into those areas.”

  • Untitled post 29903

Released in 1989, Friday the 13th for the Nintendo Entertainment System cast you as a camp counselors who had to somehow destroy an oddly blue-and-purple Jason Voorhees..

It was a game-changer for me as a kid (pun intended)..

I finally figured out lighting all of the fire places mattered, and finding the pitch fork in the third level was the key to destroying Jason. But … it took years of frustration to get there.

This game is often lampooned.. but seriously, it remains in my heart one of the best. I ever fire up the old Nintendo I have now and then just to play when the craving hits hard.
