  • Netflix has had enough!

    Netflix has had enough!

Stranger Things Season 5: Netflix Says No to a Three-Part Split (Thankfully)

Netflix has apparently had enough of the rumors—and so have we. For months now, speculation has swirled online that Stranger Things Season 5 would be split into three separate installments: one dropping in Fall 2025, the second near the end of the year, and a final “part three” arriving sometime in 2026.

Well, it looks like we can all breathe a sigh of relief. According to recent reports, those plans are either false or officially scrapped. Netflix has rejected the idea of dragging it out that long—and honestly, we’re glad they did.

Let’s be real. As much as we love the show, the memes about the Stranger Things kids looking old enough to start collecting Social Security are getting a little too close to reality. We’ve been waiting a long time for this final chapter, and yes, we know it’s probably going to be epic. Each episode will likely run at near feature-length, and the story will (hopefully) be worth the wait.

But dragging it out over years not months? That would have been a mistake. Viewer interest doesn’t last forever—Netflix knows this. So instead of three parts, we’re now expecting two installments, which feels more reasonable.

Now the only question left is: Will it actually come out this year? Or are we looking at another delay? Here’s hoping we’re heading back to Hawkins before 2026.

A freak accident in a movie theater during Final Destination

Okay, here’s some weird stuff for you.

We all know the Final Destination movies—death has a plan, and it doesn’t like being cheated. So now imagine watching one of those movies… and the plot starts happening to you.

That’s exactly what went down during a screening of the new flick Final Destination: Bloodlines in La Plata, Argentina. In a freak accident that could have been ripped straight from the film itself, a chunk of the ceiling collapsed inside the Cinema Ocho theater—nearly killing someone in the audience.

Fiamma Villaverde was celebrating her birthday with her 11-year-old daughter and a friend when it happened. One minute they’re enjoying the movie, the next—a ceiling tile comes crashing down.

Fiamma was taken to the hospital, but her daughter narrowly avoided injury. Why? Because she happened to be leaning her head the other way at the exact moment the tile fell. Talk about dodging fate. She escaped injury… and maybe even avoided her own Final Destination.

Anthropic said its latest artificial intelligence model resorted to blackmail when told it would be taken offline.

In a safety test, the AI company asked Claude Opus 4 to act as an assistant to a fictional company, but then gave it access to (also fictional) emails saying that it would be replaced, and also that the engineer behind the decision was cheating on his wife. Anthropic said the model “[threatened] to reveal the affair” if the replacement went ahead.

Joaquin Phoenix stars in the darkly satirical “Eddington” which premiered at the Cannes film festival on Friday, a biting take on America’s culture wars set in a small New Mexico town.

  • Disney tried to ruin Mother’s Day, but no one even noticed

Disney tried to ruin Mother’s Day, but no one even noticed

Someone needs to consult Mickey Mouse or Walt’s frozen head.

This past weekend, Disney decided that Mother’s Day was the perfect time to re-release their somewhat floppy Snow White film. We say “somewhat floppy” because, while it did make $200 million globally, it cost $250 million to make—so they’re still in the red. But the Mother’s Day re-release may have added even more insult to injury. Shown in 1,300 theaters, the film pulled in less than what some Kickstarter campaigns make: just $350,000 in revenue.

Snow White might not be the best choice for a Mother’s Day film, considering the mother is dead and the stepmother is, well, evil. Along with how much peiple hated the film. But Disney went for it anyway.

Maybe there was some logic behind it. Snow White has become a meme magnet on TikTok, with videos galore mocking the film. Perhaps Disney thought it could cash in on some gallows humor and bring in audiences looking for a laugh, just like they did with the Minecraft movie. But no such luck. We didn’t chicken jockey Snow White. That didn’t happen—and instead, the meme of failure continues. Snow White remains abandoned by moviegoers.

There’s a lesson here for Disney. And it’s not just about timing their re-release better. The real lesson?

Stop making movies that people don’t want to see.
