    The kids aren’t alright..

    Quiet communities are becoming shocked in 2014.. Slenderman stabbings, murderous rampages by the youth, PURGE style threats, and cyber stalking..  While crime rates are falling, the crimes that are occurring are garnering headlines around the world for the outrageous nature they posses.

    Enter this story from Pennsylvania, something you have probably already heard about on the news. A 10-year-old boy killed a 90-year-old woman.. He told police that he held her down with her cane and punched her. Some media outlets called it a temper tantrum.. To me, it sounds more like an other-worldy rage that possessed him for the time he was murdering her..

    Sources are calling him ‘the boy.’ He was visiting his grandparents.. the woman the ‘boy’ killed was Helen Novak..

    An autopsy confirmed what ‘the boy’ told the police.. Blunt trauma.

    WNEP in Pennsylvania reported the boy’s name: Tristen Kurilla. 

    Prosecutor are charging ‘boy’ Tristen as an adult.. His image is now being plastered across the web.. Adults who use the internet–the same adults who converge to say cyber bullying is a crime–are calling for horrid treatment of Kurilla. A few posts I saw actually said he should be publicly hanged, or that a firing squad was appropriate..

    This entire debacle is tremendously difficult for the mind to comprehend.

    On a personal note, I was actually waiting for my car to get some work done on it this morning at the garage.. the television was airing the early morning newscast of WNEP, with the report on the 10-year-old’s killing as their top story.. The room went silent, with all of the people looking at the screen in shock. Their speechlessness made me speechless, I actually watched them digest the news instead of watching the news itself.. For me, that was the stunning part.

    Anymore, crimes are tough to shock. Snuff films like what ISIS publishes are all around us.. It is alarming to hear of criminal at such an early age.. But watching the adults try to come to grips with the evil that has seemingly invaded their surroundings chilled me a bit.

    The ‘safety’ is gone.. nothing feels right anymore. Something seems off balance. What’s up is down and vice versa.. And now, children are committing horrible crimes right in the backyard of places that once were deemed civil and secure. . Watching people see that with their own eyes, knowing that they they are defenseless to the tidal wave of evil, is frightening..

    The internet, simply being what it is, is still a wild west of sorts.. maybe now there are more names and less anonymity.. perhaps more privacy shedding has allowed for an interface of all seeing–or preying eyes–on our every movement.. But it is still filled with odd and sometimes downright frightening fads.

    Enter the latest, as reported by Fastcompany.com: A new community on Instagram exists.. In it, users steal other users’ baby photos and children off of the net. And then they role play.. In one incident as reported in the article, this:

    Sometimes they create entire fake families. Others then interact in the comments of each photo, role-playing as they virtually feed, burp, swaddle, and even reprimand these virtual children. Some Instagrammers even portray themselves as virtual adoption agencies, where followers can request specific babies and toddlers they’d like to adopt–“Looking for a two-year-old girl with blonde hair, green eyes, and who is feisty”–and the adoption agency then finds a photo, usually without permission. Role playing ensues.

    This is weird, creepy.. and perverse in some deeply disturbing way.

    The most precious cargo a parent can carry is their own child. Any other worldly concern falls to the bottom of the list when compared to the safety and happiness of their own kith and kin. And that is why this is so bizarre and harsh to contemplate.. someone stealing your child, in a virtual sense. The kidnapping of an identity.. role playing and creating a brand new world for the baby who simply wants to learn, discover, and laugh.  That is chilling..

    The world is scary, as are people..

    Maybe a few things should be in order before you post.. As people can pry. For example, check your settings. Maybe not allowing just anyone to view your information would be a prime thing to think about. That or maybe even screening friends. .and finally, the fact of the matter is this: You are not a star. I am not a star.. I write on a website. But I can be clicked on and forgotten in seconds, I get that.. perhaps a few customers of my information will stick around. But I certainly will not. I am food for worms, as are you. And often, your photos and opinions does not matter regardless of how many times you bellow it out on the social media platform of your choice. Maybe there comes a time and place for a few photos of your child–I know I have done it. But for the most part, the pictures I take are private. I keep them safe, I don’t upload them to the cloud, and I have a grand plan to get them all printed out in an old fashioned 20th century way. Time is rarely on my side, though, and that has been a long delayed personal project.

    Perhaps also the people who do these role playings should be evaluated for mental health. If you know someone who role plays, that’s fine. I have some friends who masquerade on weekends on Civil War and Medieval reenanactors, and zombies. Thus far they haven’t shown me signs that they really believe they are what they pretend they are. But we all need to be careful,.

    Staying grounded in the real world–or as real as we perceive it being–is often tough. As nightly news issues its latest blood torn press releases, we often want to fly away into a pretend land where nothing is painful and life lives on forever. But it does not. The real world is now.. you are simply typing letters on a keyboard or reading words on a screen.. The photos of your dinner last night will not impress anyone beyond the second it will take for someone to ‘like it.’ And it does not matter how many followers you have, because there’s  a good chance they really don’t follow anything you say.. The real world, my friends, is dark and dingy.

    That being said, it’s still amazing to be alive.
    Your own life..
    Not the innocent life of a child who has parents and a family.. don’t steal that. That’s the most important thing someone owns. Don’t be an Instaphile, people.

    Everything that he ate and used was apparently stolen..

    The oddest part of all to fathom: He says he didn’t speak a word the entire time, besides once in the 1990s when he passed a hiker on a path in the forest and he said a simple ‘hi’ ..

    And now all of the paranormal fears and strange occurrences that haunted this part of central Maine for decades may very well be solved. No ghost.. no UFO.. no beast from the East.. Instead a thin hermit living in the forest, eating the scrappings of others and stealing the possessions of them, too..

    It’s like THE VILLAGE gone wrong.. no one else joined in..

    UPDATE 7/25/14: An update to the strange case of the porcelain dolls reported on the HORROR REPORT yesterday: The person behind the event has been found by the police in the gated community.. According to cops at this point, the dolls were left outside the homes of girls they resemble as a gesture of ‘good will’ .. Apparently many of the families attended the same church as the person who was leaving them as gifts. I, and everyone else, have become so jaded that even signs of friendship and community are regarded as veiled threats. Society..

    ORIGINAL STORY:


    There is undoubtedly a very disturbing creepy factor to the idea of someone leaving dolls in front of people’s homes.. even more unnerving: Whoever is doing it is leaving dolls that resemble the girls who live in the homes..

    This is taking place in the Talega Community of San Clemente, California. Police are investigating.. 

    Families began reporting the dolls in the middle of June. But now, according to police statements to NBC News, the situation has spun out of control.

    This from ABC NEWS:

    “The dolls were being left at these homes, but everybody thought they were the only one,” said Hallock. “When the families started communicating and put it together, they became concerned.”

    Police are trying to figure out if the dolls were homemade or bought at a local retailer.

    Though the situation may seem eerie, the police see no foul play.

    “At this point we don’t have a specific crime,” Hallock said. “It’s very suspicious activity and we’re following up on it. We’re trying to find answers as we speak.”

    Perhaps no ‘threat’ of any overt nature.. But maybe the work of a pervert..

    Regardless of why the dolls are being left at homes, it’s clear: Any parent would find this as a clear and present danger. And a threat. No matter what police say..

    A real headline from the UK PRESS is creating a huge stir: “‘Powerful elite’ of at least 20 establishment figures may have been part of paedophile ring that abused children for decades”

    It sounds sensational.. but did the story of Jimmy Savile, the once living devil from hell itself who raped children and got away with it.. It recently came out that Savile also most likely was having sex with dead bodies ..

    For those under rocks on this front, Savile was an English DJ, television presenter, media personality and charity fundraiser.. It was a high profile and influential figure.

    A new book written by Dan Davies called IN PLAIN SIGHT describes how Savile groomed an entire nation.. England loved him. While they did, he was brutally raping children, dead corpses, as young as 8, and the epitome of revulsion.

    But maybe Savile’s sins are just a part of the story, as new information seems to suggest. It could go much, much deeper.. and if true, an exposed, would rock a royal family or two.

    The DAILY MAIL article describes a potential pedophile ring and how 20 establishment figures from the ‘powerful elite’ may have been involved.. Among the allegations swirling: Several abusers are judges. And people linked to the British Royal Family. Childrens’ homes, it’s been reported, were simply supply lines for the secret proclivities of pedophiles..

    According to Peter McKelvie, a former child protective manager, a large number of people also know of the abuse but did nothing..

    While things of this nature could have been dismissed decades ago, consider the news that happened during our lifetime: The Catholic Church and other major religions were effectively run by criminals at times, raping and devouring the innocent lives of children, and hiding it in plain sight. Penn State University had a coach who was raping boys in the shower room in plain sight.. And Jimmy Savile, the heinous creature who walked this planet, was a scourge to any child he met, such as those he repeatedly ‘visited’ at a now closed home in Woodhouse Evans..

    Another notable event in history: The Franklin Credit Union cover up.. And the actions of Lawrence King, who reportedly supplied an endless amount of boys from Boys Town, to high profile pedophiles in the government and business during the 1980s.. Johnny Gosch has even been rumored to have been abducted by that ring..

     

    There have been about 32 mass grave sites of children found in Canada.. Also there have been 350,800 missing children found in grave sites across the world..

    There is a lot of bad information out there along with the facts.. Innuendo and rumor meant to drum up a scandal.. but so often the truth is stranger–and more horrifying–than fiction.. The HORROR REPORT will continue to watch this story as it develops.. and try to find reliable and credible sources of information..
