One of Ippolito’s brothers reportedly claimed that his sibling was present at the crime scene, raising new questions about what actually happened that June night in 1994.
Simpson was acquitted in the criminal trial but later found liable in civil court. Both Simpson and Ippolito are now deceased, and the new allegations remain unproven. Still, it’s remarkable that more than 30 years later, one of the most heavily scrutinized murder cases in American history continues to generate new questions.

This weekend, A24’s 3 hour Elizabeth Holmes non-fiction You Can See Everything is charting the second best opening ever for a documentary at the box office with $12M-$14M at 855 screens, right behind 2004’s Fahrenheit 9/11 ($23.9M)!
On Rotten Tomatoes, the website issued a statement that said You Can See Everything was the only 100% certified fresh movie of the year, having more than 80 reviews in. It has dropped to a 99% because of a single negative review, but the 99% still seems pretty buoyant..
And what was that negative review? It’s from the corporate downers at TIME magazine ..
This is a dense picture—there’s almost too much to unpack, if you can be bothered to care about any of it.

Humperdinck revealed how he got rope and pre-planned revenge on a nurse..
The man is 90.. and he decided it was time to reveal something that the world never knew.. Also because of this, many people are just finding out that Humperdinck has a podcast!
On his show, he spoke about his time at Leicester’s Groby Road Hospital Sanatorium, after he was diagnosed with tuberculosis.
When speaking about the treatments he endured, he described having “to stay on your back for I don’t know 8 weeks,” without attempting to sit up or “do anything strenuous,” in addition to getting “an injection with a needle about this big in your butt” every morning.

“There was one lady nurse who was, I don’t think she liked me very much because of the injection that she gave me, she really hurt, and I used to scream at her and I used to ask for somebody else. They wouldn’t give me anybody else, but this lady was very bad, and she was really hurt, and I had big blue marks.”
After she continued to hurt him with every injection, Humperdinck thought to himself, “When I’m a little better I’m going to do something” and be a bit “mischievous” to get back at her.
“I said to my friend in the next bed, I said, ‘I’ve got to get some rope. I get some rope,'” he said. “So we got this rope, and when the nurse came around in the morning before doctor’s rounds, I got the nurse, grabbed her, tied her hands behind the back, put her in the empty bed next to us, covered her up.”
He said when the doctor came by for his rounds, “he knew that I was responsible for that..but he ignored it” and “just walked straight by.”
Humperdinck spent six months in the sanatorium after he started coughing up blood during a concert in Manchester. After initially receiving a diagnosis of “a bad throat infection,” his mom told the doctor ‘I’m not happy with that. Not when I see blood,’ and demanded an X-ray.

Now, it seems to go without saying as to what that really means, which would be to flip the cassette tape because back in the ’80s, in the old times, as some of our kids who are reading this might say, or as you, if you’re a kid, might say, you had to flip the tape over in your cassette player to play the other side.
There is no doubt that whoever is running the social media for Stranger Things at this time, whether it’s just one person or a team of people who text each other now and then, coming up with a good way to stay relevant, they all know about Conformity Gate. They all know that fans have been talking about this for the past year, and some die-hard fans are still true believers that Conformity Gate is real and the next season, or the real final episode, is going to happen.
Interestingly, when you go back and watch the final episode, it does seem more clear than ever before that Mike could very well be under Vecna’s control and Vecna could have won at this point. Or AI scripting led the Duffers to just give us what they gave us. Who knows?
Listen, we’re not going to get back into Conformity Gate. As we’ve said before, it would be miraculous and mind-blowing if a new show were unveiled or the real ending happened, but I think we would have seen it by now.
The fervor has died away, and the cartoon animated series doesn’t have the same oomph that the show did. And that’s not discrediting the writing or the creativity of the cartoon, but once that final episode peaked and Conformity Gate showcased itself to most likely not be anywhere close to reality, the fans sort of fell away.
Every now and then, they’ll come back with the help of posts like this from the Stranger Things account to flip the script, or flip the tape, or flip the Upside Down right side up.
Who knows? It’s a boring weekend in October, and everyone knows that Will Byers Day is coming up on November 6th, so perhaps that’s all it is.
Or maybe, just maybe, we will conform to the new gate, and we are all wrong in saying Conformity Gate was not going to happen.

If you have time this cold autumn weekend, check out the short film on YouTube called Remain Calm. There are some other short films in the annals of the same filmmaker, but this one is really good.
In the spirit of a short film, we get right into it. A mundane gas station that’s staffed by two real-life comedians, Pauly Shore and Nick Swardson. When comedians are in horror, there’s always some sort of magic that ensues. In this situation, it did. Pauly Shore does his finest to become a victim.
As also with short films, we don’t really know the backstory, but we know that government-type agents are hunting for an escaped something, and the only way to save yourself is to keep on smiling.
Remain Calm is a roughly 14-minute horror-comedy short written and directed by Jake Lewis, based on a story by Jake and Sam Lewis. Released on YouTube on October 12, 2026, the film stars Pauly Shore as Matt, Nick Swardson as Erwin, Doug Jones as the Grin Man, and Kevin Keppy as the terrifying Mr. Frett. Lewis has also directed other short films, including The Court Jester, which featured Shore portraying Richard Simmons.
The creature effects for Remain Calm were created by Gorgazma, adding another dimension to this unusual combination of comedy and horror.

Crystal Lake is already running up some good reviews from people who have long loved the Friday the 13th franchise, and this time Jason, as a child, has a revealed backstory that we knew existed but until now didn’t quite consider.
The new eight-episode series premiered on Peacock on October 15, 2026, and comes from A24 and creator Brad Caleb Kane, who also worked on IT: Welcome to Derry.
Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, the role made famous by Betsy Palmer in the original 1980 film, while Callum Vinson portrays young Jason. The cast also includes William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. The series takes us back to the early 1970s and explores the relationship between Pamela and her son, the circumstances surrounding his apparent drowning, and the events that would eventually lead to the horrors at Camp Crystal Lake.
As people watch the show, they’re becoming fans of Jason Voorhees and really upset with anyone who’s not in the Voorhees family itself. It’s an interesting change in perspective, considering that for nearly five decades Jason has been one of the most recognizable villains in horror movie history. Now we’re seeing him as a child, one who was bullied and mistreated, and we’re getting a better understanding of the circumstances that helped shape the monster we would eventually come to know.
The show also gives us a nod to Friday the 13th Part 2, when Jason wore his bluish-gray flannel, a reminder of the days before the hockey mask became his trademark. It’s these little details that longtime fans of the franchise will appreciate, and perhaps the biggest surprise is that after all these years, there’s still a story worth telling about the Voorhees family.

There is something particularly unsettling about the timing of a recent collaboration between Six Flags and the Final Destination horror franchise, especially considering the tragic death of a man at Six Flags Over Georgia just as the collab began..
On Monday, October 12, 2026, 42-year-old Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem died after being ejected from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia. The story as as tragic as you can get.. Kariem, a father and longtime educator, was visiting the amusement park with family members to celebrate his niece’s birthday when the tragedy occurred. Several other riders were also injured.
Kariem had already overcome in his life. According to his family, he was a two-time cancer survivor who had also survived a frightening car accident just three weeks earlier. His 10-year-old daughter was with him during that incident, and both escaped without injuries. He had also overcome a serious lung infection and, earlier this year, completed a 10K race despite previously being told he might need a lung transplant.
This was a man who had overcome some extraordinary challenges, only to lose his life during what should have been an enjoyable family outing.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation. Witnesses have raised concerns about the roller coaster’s restraints, and Six Flags temporarily closed nine other roller coasters at several of its parks following the tragedy. The Goliath roller coaster itself remains closed. State officials have indicated that its most recent inspection, conducted in March, found no violations or deficiencies.
At this point, investigators have not determined exactly what caused Kariem to be ejected from the ride.
Safety is understandably at the center of the discussion, and it should be. Roller coasters are designed to provide thrills through extraordinary heights, speeds, and forces, but the expectation is that passengers can experience those thrills safely. What happened in Georgia raises serious questions that deserve thorough answers rather than speculation.
But there is another aspect of this story that is particularly strange.
Six Flags recently partnered with the Final Destination franchise for its Halloween Fright Fest programming. The attraction is based on the popular horror movie series in which characters narrowly escape death, only to find themselves facing a series of bizarre and often fatal accidents. Fans of the franchise will undoubtedly remember Final Destination 3, released in 2006, which famously features a catastrophic roller coaster accident.
The collaboration was arranged before Kariem’s death, and there is no suggestion of any connection between the attraction and the tragedy. Nonetheless, the timing is difficult to ignore.
According to reporting from TMZ, Six Flags intends to continue offering the Final Destination attraction at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California despite the recent tragedy in Georgia. A company representative clarified that the haunted maze does not feature scenes involving a theme park.
That distinction is important, but it doesn’t entirely eliminate the uncomfortable coincidence.
There is something undeniably strange about an amusement park company promoting a fictional horror experience centered around escaping death while simultaneously dealing with the real-life death of a guest on one of its roller coasters. It is especially unsettling when considering the life experiences of the man who died, having already survived cancer twice and a recent car accident.
This is not to suggest that Six Flags should necessarily cancel its Halloween programming or that horror entertainment is somehow responsible for what occurred.
The collaboration was planned before the accident, and the attraction is being offered at a different park. Still, the decision to continue it so soon after this tragedy is bound to raise questions about sensitivity, timing, and public perception.
There is a significant difference between fictional horror and real tragedy, and that difference becomes especially important when the two unexpectedly intersect.
For now, the most important issue remains the investigation into what happened on October 12 and whether anything could have been done to prevent it.
And beyond the headlines, the horror movie comparisons, and the questions surrounding Six Flags, there is a family mourning a father, a loved one, and an educator whose life was much more than the circumstances of his death.
That deserves to remain at the center of this story…
