With each anchor store closing and empty location, the demise of the Schuylkill Mall seems to get closer..
This weekend Kmart shut does for good. What remains is an imcreasingly empty vessel of yesteryear with running fountains.
As the times change.
Deaths From Drug Overdoses Rise Across America
Across the country, 44,000 people died from drug overdoses in 2013, more than double the number in 1999, the study by the non-profit group, Trust for America’s Health found. Nearly 52 percent of the deaths were related to prescription drugs.
That needs to be contemplated. The leading drug that is now killing are I’d legal sources from companies creating them.. not street drugs. Not pot. But DRUGS you can buy in a store along with a pack of smokes and a candy bar..
By accident, I stumbled across a folder on my computer hard drive that has not been accessed since 2012.. Seemingly not that long ago in years, in at least in theory. But when I looked through the contents, I suddenly realized how much time had passed..
Contained within the computer save point: Photographs dating back ten years to a trip my wife and I took to Asbury Park NJ to see Lisa Marie Presley. More pictures of family, people who have passed away since they smiled for the shot.. A few photos before my son’s birth, in 2010, when parenting wasn’t on our minds.. The way we changed in 2011 after having a son.. and in 2012.. Our styles, our hair, my hairline.. the very core and structure of our lives altered incredibly throughout the previous ten years. I looked through the pictures for at least two hours after my wife and son fell asleep.. I couldn’t stop. I became suddenly addicted to studying each photo, over and over, seeing if I missed something the first time. I placed myself in the shot again, tried to relive the memory.. But so many have become fuzzy. A photo can bring some recollections racing back. But the haywire act of living so often forces us to forget the important things.
For me..looking through these photos was an important thing.
I love father’s day.
Not because of a few gifts that my wife and son give me, and not because of the language of some hackneyed card … No, I love it for deeper reasons. I love being a father. It’s the single handled most important job I have ever held in my life.. It’s endless world. You’re on call 24/7, and you’re constantly trying to plan future work events while the present time does its best to throw off the routine of life. It’s challenging and rewarding.. It’s amazing and scary. It’s every single emotion piled onto each other with a bow on top..
There are very important people relying on my.. Very important plans yet to be completed.
I was a young subscriber to TIME magazine, and I remember getting this issue in 1993. I now look back … I was 13 then and I am 34 now.
And I am a father.
I am what I’d never thought I’d be when I was 13. But now I am completely fine with that… I love it.
I wonder what will be on TIME magazine when he is 13. I wonder if there will be a TIME when he is 13……….
Regardless of what modern thrill or shrill spill takes place.. Life will continue.
My son will keep aging. I will age faster.
And I will be a dad for the rest of my life..
FATHERHOOD indeed.
Happy father’s day to those in the camp.
I have been a long time critic of Zombie’s style of horror, I think it did more harm than good since HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES became a hit.
But he also struck while the iron was hot, figuring out what the post 9/11 horror crowd would accept and celebrate. Even though I disdain his style, especially his HALLOWEEN remakes,
I think Zombie is one of the most creative and greatest movie makers alive today.
His films may not be my cup of tea, but those cups are enjoyed thoroughly by millions of others. So really, in the end, my criticism is more a matter of opinion than factual based. And a Groucho Marx movie? Now I’ll try that one.
For years, M Night Shyalaman has been equally regarded as a genius and washed up director.. Fans love him. Critics hate him.. a new movie coming out this fall called THE VISIT, at least according to Jason Blum, may help some get restored faith in NIGHT..
Blum said,
“And I think when you see “The Visit,” and when people see “The Visit,” they’ll see it’s — you know, he’s really back to — it feels like one of his earlier movies, and it really feels like one of the Night films that made him who he is. It’s really scary, and really gets under your skin. It’s more of a…thriller, but it’s a terrific movie, I’m really proud of it. And I’m even prouder of it that…I think people will be very pleasantly surprised by it.”
The already overdone and failed concept of endless Halloween movies is going to get another run. And just in case there are any people still looking forward to it, read the exclusive MOVIE HOLE infornation they obtained:
Titled “Halloween Returns”, the new project will be a standalone film set to reintroduce audiences to Michael Myers years after his initial rampage.
“Halloween Returns” will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.
Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.
This just sounds all wrong. Plain wrong..
I have become weary of Michael Myers, but this death row concept for someone who has already been killed 8 times plus is plain ludicrous.
I actually wish someone would remake Halloween 3—as a horror fan, I have always been outnumbered in my appreciation of the Season Of Thr Witch..
Instead though Hollywood will return to the tried and true method of pointless slasher trasher with a storyline to match. ..

The UK GUARDIAN says this,
Clinton, according to her would-be employees, has left full-time organizers with little choice but to criss-cross the country and work as “free help”.
The Guardian has identified at least five “Organizing Fellows” on Clinton’s current field team in Iowa alone who held paid positions on national political campaigns during the 2014 midterm elections.
